Is that normal to have that static noise in background when you aren’t playing? Mine does the same. I have a smaller amp and it does not do that.
Love this video! I'm going to be moving to the Atlanta area sometime this April or May most likely.
wen was it made what year!did it come out???
I don't know why but I can't get this amp past volume 1/12 without it just... getting really high in volume. It's like it goes from 1-10 automatically.
+Martin Krajyan I just picked it up and the same thing happens to me. It's the amp
I'm thinking about getting the boss ge7 equalizer and controlling the volume with the pedal.
Me gusta mucho
great review thanks
I've owned one of these for about four years now, and I've tried a few guitars through it. To be honest, any guitar with single coil pickups is going to sound horrible on either of the "drive" channels. It's too trebly, and does lack some midrange. That said, it's voiced perfect for humbucking pickups. I play a 1981 Gibson Sonex (poor man's Les Paul) through it, and it sounds fantastic! It's extremely loud, and with the humbucking pickups, it has plenty of growl. Also, for anyone who thinks this amp isn't versatile, you just don't know how to twiddle the knobs. On both channels, I have the treble at 10 and the mid and bass at about 6, and it sounds excellent for what I play (blues-inspired alt-rock). I play a lot with the gain settings, and I can get anything from a slightly dirty Stones "clang" to a thrash metal grind without a lot of noise. The key is the midrange scoop switch on the front of the amp, Press that, and you get that classic metal tone instantly. I've owned my fair share of amps over the years (Ross 10w combo, KMD 100w combo, Fender Blues Junior, Peavy, VOX, Marshall), and with the sole exception of the Blues Junior, this is the best sounding of all of them, and it's easily the most versatile.
I was recently working in a house fire. My partner and I was doing an interior attack with hand line. we were on 2nd floor. Second company in set up deck gun and started a exterior attack unaware of my location. Deck gun stream came threw picture window hitting full on. Throwing me into wall. I now have torn rotator cuff and herniated dick in my neck. I'm waiting to have surgery on both now. Very powerful stream. Always make sure everyone is out before you start exterior attack.
The amp can handle high-gain fairly well if you use the second input jack and a good boost pedal. The built-in drive channel is rather poor for playing metal and harder rock genres.
yes
can that amp handle hi gain
certissimo
There are a few articles on this if you type it in google but the simplest way if you just want to add a speaker cab is to take the two wires (that split into four) going to your speakers and join a pair of wires to them which you solder to a jack input that is easily fitted to the back of the cab. .These amps have so much power that I think they sound great with another cab.
how does one add a cheeky output for a cab on this amp?
I kept reading reviews putting this amp down. I usually play a Marshall Valvestate which is loud enough but I tried one of these out and I bought it immediately. It has that great retro look. Even the Fender badge is a vintage style one. It cost hardly anything but its so loud. It has that classic fender sound. I did make a few alterations out of personal preference. I added an output as it didn't have one(It drives an extra cab brilliantly) and I changed the spring reverb to a longer one.
Use clean channel with ALL tone knobs on 2 - then it actually sounds good
oh fuck! have u got treble knob on 10?!
You can buy this amp and later you can buy an overdrive pedal...(If the gain not will be punk or metal enough) :) Hope I helped.. Iam not english.. sorry for mistakes
I have this amp and play solo jazz guitar and I like it, nice clean sound !!
suck it kid!
I'm a huge Green Day, Yellowcard, and Foo Fighters fan....would this be good for a punk Green Day riff? Like distortion....or would a Marshall be better?
Taip as is Lietuvos :D
are u lithuanian?:D
would anyone say that the drive of this amp sounds like channel four on the super champ xd?
my advice, by an acoustic guitar. a cheap one. and play the hell out of that for about 2 years. the amp sounds like trash. i mean no hate. peace and practice
so could you plug a microphone and a guitar in at the same time? like if you were to travel and just play gigs by yourself this would be all youd need?
No, not made for two guitars. In this case, Input 1 is for passive electronic instruments (normal sensitivity) and Input 2 is for active electronics/high gain instruments (lower sensitivity).
what do you mean? those are the songs i play. I wanna know If this is a good amp for that type of music.
One of the inputs is brighter than the other one, also I believe that in some instances you can chain amps together
Why are there two inputs?
you my friend are a disgrace to pantera.. sorry buddy but its true...
I still gig live in bars with this. (Played 2 Nights Ago) We're more classic country and southern rock. The cleans are as good as I've heard in any amp. With overdriven tones/distortion... I use a Line 6 Floor Pod Plus and am surprised at how this amp doesn't color my tone. I never was a real big fan of the distorted tones from the Frontman 212. However, my floor pod sure takes care of this. This amp get's plenty loud! 100 watts of goodness. Use my suggestion for tone and you'll surprised.
Hi, question: if i use line 6 floor pod or another similar multi-effects processor and want to switch between clean, overdrive, distortion, wah etc only on the multi-effects processor, can the frontman 212r just remain on clean channel? New user here.
Would this amp be good for playing blink 182?
@SaveFace23 it's like asking is this bike good for riding a bike? you need to know what you want to do to decide if you want a mountain bike or a city bike But you can defenitly play smaler gigs with it, i don't know where you from, but in my area mostly every gig the amps are miced, so power doesn't matter
@SaveFace23 I've read that it is
Good for small gigs?
@alliumband The Fender Bassman is so awesome!!! I just got one and am amazed with what it can do for guitar!!!!
@Kizuatojp You must have a defective model. I play hard and heavy rhythm and this amp kicks ass. It sounds awesome with a distortion pedal and with tweaking the EQ YOU CAN PLAY ANYTHING. I collect amps and play thru Marshalls, Vox, and every Fender amp I can find. You most certainly can play metal. This amp is underrated. You just have to EQ IT. The built in overdrive is on the light side, but nothing a boost pedal, and good distortion can't fix.
Nice amp...if you play heavy stuff, get a quality distortion pedal like a suhr riot and put it in front of the clean channel. I am getting one of these and will never use the drive channels at all.
Hey man, you think it would do a good job on metal songs ?
@DavidFUBB If you want that you should get a Marshall JCM or Plexi with a good preferrably Marshall Speaker, or a Fender Bassman
@jaczen13 Are you complaing its to loud? You need to rethink your priorities or choose a different instrument hahahaha
Great demo!
@LukeGaulMusic Absolutely! I've been doing gigs in bars for over 2 years with this amp. Plenty loud! We have a 4 piece classic rock band and I can't get past 6 without drowning everyone out. I run a line 6 floor pod plus through it.
can u put other pedals on it too? cuz i have some behringer pedals and i want 2 buy it and stay using the pedals too
is this a good amp for playing punk? like green day, sum 41,etc
Is it loud enough to gig with?
is this a good amp for blues and old school rock?
@moneyquickeasy ...with a masters in Broadcast Engineering/Science Arts and Acoustical Engineering, I think I may understand a little better than you believe
