I love watching people make things, and without knowing the craft it's so hard to look at the finished product and be able to imagine howe much work and skill has gone into making it. Which is why I made this video of my friends Rowsaan making this simple yet beautiful hook. Enjoy! MB01ACNZ55ZFR5E

    How does the weight of this repurposed freewheel compare to a single speed freewheel? Having a light rear end is one of the biggest benefits of single speeds. Plus the cost of a single speed freewheel should be much less than the value of the multispeed freewheel you are replacing.

    I want to turn my e-bike into a single speed since I use only one speed anyway and I want to make it easier to clean my chain during the winter. But my question is, do you need a smaller crankset diameter or a bigger one if you want to make it so I can still pedal to give power when I'm going higher speeds?

    • @kendallmonk
      @kendallmonk 8 місяців тому

      If you want a higher gear so your legs arent spinning like crazy at high speeds you want a higher tooth chainring (larger diameter) at the crankset and a smaller cog at the rear.

    • @kendallmonk
      @kendallmonk 2 роки тому

      Thanks legend! I would say climbing is ok, the seat angle isn't super steep and the chainstays are super short so you've gotta be a bit more aggressive to keep the front wheel down on the really steep stuff. Descending is phenomenal, incredible fun, playful and fast. Handles the rough stuff really well and is a blast on groomed jump lines. I am stoked on the build up, the only thing I am not sold on are the TRP brakes which feel like they should have more power for twin pots.

      @@kendallmonk thank you for your reply Kendall really helpful, The bike looks amazing I have been also considering the 4130 for it being within my budget. even though my terrain isn’t as steep as this bike was built for, got mainly bikeparks and mini DH built trail runs My rides aren’t more than 3 hours long , just like wrecking through stuff and getting loose 😅 that’s why i like the idea of the Switchback. I just read that the bike is a bit boring on blue trails and flow , needs really steep drop to shine

    • @kendallmonk
      @kendallmonk 2 роки тому

      @@thescandiflick no worries at all. I’m not sure the average rider would be able to tell the difference between the 4130 and Reynolds, certainly not riding it. This is a fun bike wherever you ride it. If you get bored on flow trails with this things there is something wrong with you, not the bike. I’m the same, my rides are generally short although I’ve done a couple of 4-5 hour rides without issue.

      I bought the 4130 sherpa because it is the sweet spot fir price/quality. 538 may resell a bit better because of the brand “reynolds”. But don’t forget, both frames have the same reynolds rear triangle. So they are half identical 😉
