    hi mate how do you plug the wah into the stomp? Which inputs? Also do you need a block for it or not? cheers

    • @themusiciansjourney
      @themusiciansjourney 4 місяці тому

      Hi Jake. My board has changed since this video, but I still have a wah in the chain. I have it as part of the input chain, so the signal chain is - wireless receiver, tuner, volume pedal, wah, and then into the L/Mono input. So it's inline before the stomp and doesn't need a block. I suppose you could put it in the effects loop (which would use a block) , but I prefer to use the wah on a clean signal. Hope this helps. 🙂

    The rroblem of this Tuner is the how to compare the Mismatch of four tones. For example if you adjust a Brdge of aGuitar, you play the string at 12Th fret,pen, and both sides of the string pressed at 12 and 13th fret. Most Tuners are in this situation not able to tell how many cent the last mentioned two tones from the both sides of the string are differs to the optimum. the Boss TU3 will do it, but extrem flickery. the old Korg 0t120 do it best.

    Great review mate. Thank you very much. I've been looking at getting this pedal. I'm roughly the same age as you. I don't want to be negative or mean at all, so please don't take it that way, but the video was much easier to watch at the beginning when you weren't wearing glasses. Later, your glasses were reflecting quite a lot into the camera. I wear glasses too. And while I haven't put out any videos (so you're doing much better than me!) perhaps angle the camera/lighting slightly to the side so that your glasses don't reflect as much. But once again, thank you very much. Awesome review. Subscribed.

    is this good for drum recording?

    • @themusiciansjourney
      @themusiciansjourney 6 місяців тому

      I don't see why not. It has plenty of inputs (normally lots of mics to record drums) and they can all be routed to individual channels in your DAW.

    Your strumming is off. The G is played in 5/4 and when he goes into the C it's 4/4. Play that twice and then it goes C to G for one bar then back to G then C.

    I need this as i'm only using 432 hz instead of 440 hz . I own a poly tune and i'm not happy i cannot calibrate it ... I've done some research and i'm gonna trade the poly tune and go for the strobostomp.. Not a bad review on youtube ... it seems the creme de la creme as far as tuner .. i need a true by pass gadget i can calibrate manually and this one can do that

    Thanks for the interesting video! 👍 I use Melodyne for pitch correction. Any thoughts on how that works compared to Repitch?

    • @themusiciansjourney
      @themusiciansjourney Рік тому

      I have Melodyne Essentials as part of my Studio One subscription. Originally, this video was supposed to be about me using Melodyne, rather than Repitch; however, the Essentials version didn't have the functionality I needed and it was too expensive to buy the full version. I had to look at alternatives and Repitch reviewed very well. Plus, I got it in a sale so ended up paying half price for it! I think they're very similar plugins and certainly both in top 10/top 5 lists. I can't really do a comparison because Repitch has more functionality than Melodyne Essentials, but probably not more than the full version.

    • @Joeherman
      @Joeherman Рік тому

      @@themusiciansjourney Thanks for the info. I will look into RePitch. However, I have been using Melodyne Essentials (which came with Studio One) and it’s been working really well. I must admit that I don’t remember, having looked into it some time ago, what was in the paid version (I’ll have to look at it again at some point) but what are the features in RePitch you are using that you found lacking in Melodyne Essentials? Did it have to do with the “modulation”?

    • @themusiciansjourney
      @themusiciansjourney Рік тому

      @@Joeherman I just found it not very intuitive and I had problems with changing the pitch, pitch centre, note volume, and note timing. I don't think Essentials does any of those; well, I couldn't find a way. I could do all of those in Repitch, and they were the main things I needed to do for my first attempt at such software.

    It's a great pedal, and the support service from Peterson's webpage is efficient, friendly and on time. I've been using it for both a guitar AND a trumpet with a jack to xlr cable and a Shure sm57, and it works great, no need for a DI box or preamp. I also created my own preset using the drop -2 feature to transpose the pitch from the B flat trumpet, and the concert pitch reference as 442 HZ, preferred by most proffesional orchestras.

    • @themusiciansjourney
      @themusiciansjourney Рік тому

      It is a great pedal. I would never have thought of using it for a trumpet though, not that I've got one! Hmm, I might try it on my kazoo!

    • @themusiciansjourney
      @themusiciansjourney Рік тому

      As long as the stand is fairly sturdy, it will be fine. I'm using an old triple-leg/base stand, but I'm sure a round base would also work. Although I think a three-leg base would be more stable with the weight on top.

    Nice video! I rarely record acoustic guitars without double tracking and panning, and I usually record at least two different guitars. I do add in a Nashville tuned acoustic a lot, and may capo and rerecord the same guitar again with different chord voicings. The only thing I don't do is to use two microphones, since I only own one at the moment. I'll be checking out more of your channel!
