2024 and i went to get a price for this same 2012 Nissan Sentra at a shop and it was apprx 450 🙄 I do not have air tools and wonder if its possible to do all of this without air tools ? I just have breaker bars, sockets and wrenches..
Very possible. Just takes more time is all
Good job my guy🤙🏽 very entertaining
My H.C 2003 side card is burnt can u help me with a new one?
Thanks for the video man was able to take my cylinder head off shop quoted me 4K for gasket replacement
I loosened the 3 bolts on the left mount and my new rear mount is still sitting a little too high so I can shove the bolt in…
great tutorial!! keep em comming.
Thanks a lot my friend I still have my Civic 2003 coupe and your video was very useful The job is done and everything looks pretty good Thanks again Best regards from Mexico 🇲🇽
hello. For the Mazda 3. 2021 Is it possible to do this procedure but I don't have the scanner, can I disconnect the fuel pump relay? without fear that it will show a fault code later. Thanks in Advance for your suport!
So i did this job on a 2006 ex 4 door civic. Don't think I'll be doing another one anytime soon. Unless im compensated very well 😂
I know you did this five years ago but do you remember if this was a regular gas engine or a CNG engine. I have a CNG and was wondering if I could do the same for a CNG plug change.
It was a regular gas one
@JCAUTOMOTIVE4444 Thanks do you know if a CNG is the same as regular gas to replace plugs
@@JoeFarkas I’m not sure to be honest
What was the torque specs for the crank pulley bolt
This is what the manual says: Tighten the bolt to 69 N-m (7.0 kgf-m, 51 lbf-ft). If the pulley bolt or crankshaft are new, tighten the bolt to 177 N-m (18.0 kgf-m, 130 lbf-ft), then remove the bolt and tighten it to 69 N-m (7.0 kgf-m, 51 lbf-ft). Then tighten the bolt an additional 90 °.
so mine has been randomly spit and sputtering at idle and almost dieing, should I look into this or you think its something else?
If it has a check engine light I would start by seeing what code it is. I don’t think this would help something that runs that bad
@@JCAUTOMOTIVE4444 No check engine light on but a couple months ago I had to replace the camshaft position sensor, thinking it may be related to that. Thanks man
That could very well be it.
Why you remove so many things? I literally just fed the cable through didn’t remove the seats or all the plastics
Because I wanted it done right
How is removing 20 extra parts the right way? That cable is just resting In between all the parts you removed. If u lift the seat up you can see the cable and pull it through. I pulled it through the exact same route it was previously routed and reused all the clips. 10 min job. Works great 😊
@christianleon527 make a video and show us
@@JCAUTOMOTIVE4444 bro I just thought I would let you know there’s an easier way to do it maybe for your next video but you obviously don’t want to hear it. Ttyl buddy thanks for the video.
🤣 sorry bro just everything is either negative or positive no in between here on the comments. I thought maybe you were just trying to prove me wrong. I appreciate your feedback. I honestly just do whatever is in the book. I can’t remember what source I used for this video it was a while ago. But thanks again sorry for the misunderstanding
When you removed the head we’re all the valves seated flush , is there supposed to be like four sticking out ?
I believe that’s normal. If the cam the rockers are still installed they won’t be flush
Did the electric impact work to take off that crank bolt and what kind of man of impact is that ?
It did it is a kobalt brand. The secret is the socket I used a.co/d/5IOTHjv
@@JCAUTOMOTIVE4444thanks , also what kind of socket did you use to remove head bolts ?
I noticed my new radiator came with the ac condenser (oem). Any special tips on the this? I noticed the radiator came with ND Oil 8 fluid? I think it’s for the ac compressor pump? If I replace the ac condenser too is that another long chain of steps or?
Meant to reply sooner. Yea ND oil is AC compressor oil. The condenser is very easy to get to if you have the radiator out already
Great video. Wish all mechanics on UA-cam would just get to the point instead of talking for 15 min.
I am getting a code for "TPS circuit A voltage low". Could this be whats causing it to go into limp mode after about 20-30 minutes of driving?
Its a beaten up civic But it wont die until u let it die ..
What did you clean everything else with? I know they clean the head when they resurface it but the cylinders, pistons, the chain etc.? Going to start tackling this in the morning with your series. Truly appreciated!
Just saw you used a new timing chain
Used a carb cleaner on top of pistons. Careful not to get the cylinder walls. As far as everything else I didn’t clean it other than oil change. I used assembly line on the cam lobs, anywhere there’s contact points but I did prime the engine before starting it. That’s very important to do.
@@JCAUTOMOTIVE4444 thank you for the heads up. I recently got it done by someone 3 months ago and it’s bad again. I can’t get the timing cover off to save my life. I’ve taken every bolt and some. May be from all the liquid gasket that was used. Any tips on how to get that out with out damaging it?
I just know there was an edge I used a small pry tool. Just gotta be careful not to nick it.
How did you prime the engine?
Great video. Thanks man. I just wanted to add this: if, by chance, the alternator or any of the pulleys need changing, it's SO much easier with radiator being out of the van. So, do those repairs at the same time of radiator replacement, if it is feasible. BTW: just being honest... not a fan of background music, but at least you decrease the volume when you are speaking. 👍😊
Old video I no longer use music. This guy was very cheap and just wanted the most basic cheap repair as possible so doubt he would have wanted more done
Great video, how many cans did you use?
I believe about 2 1/2
My express van seems to have a restriction in the ac system. Cools good when moving. Then cycles on and off of high pressure when idle or after restarting. Wondering where
When installing the new sensors, do they need to be torqued to a specific rating?
33 LB FT for this specific one
2016 Mazda 6, P0171 code. Might this process help with this? I do feel the car sputtering just a little when not moving and in gear.
It could but if it’s sputtering already then it might be too late. You could try. I have an Acura that is also direct injection and i physically took the injectors out and had to clean them but they worked well after
@@JCAUTOMOTIVE4444 Thanks! My thoughts exactly... figure i could clean them and then see if it comes back. Or just replace all 4 and hopefully avoid doing it twice. Thanks for the note back.
Please 😭 I’ve been trying for hours. You’re the closest thing all over yt. Can you make a video on how to re install the throttle cables back on the little earlobe looking thing?? 🙏
I don’t have that car anymore……. I’m not sure when I’ll come across another just like it to fix
@@JCAUTOMOTIVE4444 Its cool I finally got it 😎 Took me hours but I finally got it
God blessed u
Car was above 10% on throttle position sensor and wouldnt let me get out of park, thanks! Works great now that i replaced it! (Anyone have issues with dorman? Idk about their quality since they are so cheap)
I didn’t make the part. Just the part I had at the time.
Great video.. Now we know why these jobs cost so much. I was curious on what it would take to do this job and now I know. Doable but not very easy... Thanks again.
Can you do this with the injector out of the car? Use a 12v battery to connect to the injector to open it, like the old school injectors?
I'm trying to think about this question. I'm sure you could. but I'm not sure how well it would work being direct injection. i believe with direct injection it requires over 2000 PSI and that's why the secondary high pressure fuel pump is required. In the past, I've put the Injectors in an ultrasonic cleaner and opened them and it seemed to work. So I believe it could work
Thanks for this video
This is really appreciated man ! Did you just go off the all data diagrams?
Yea I did.
Thank you, that was very thorough.
How is it holding up so far. I’m gonna try do this for my 07. Just started to leak from the block.
Well it held up for 3 years but now the car is long gone. My sister owned it but sold it dirt cheap
How many miles did you have on it when u discovered the crack
@@jasoncurry2515 mine has 172k on it.
Thanks man
I got the cat changed last year for catalytic converter P0420 error on my 2016 CRV. 6 months down the line I got the P0139 error. I changed the downstream sensor this time. 2000 miles more I again got the same P0139 error. I called Denso and they sent me a new sensor because of warranty. I called the mechanic to reinstall the downstream sensor and he says P0139 error may be because of upstream sensor also and recommending to replace upstream sensor. I am so confused this is driving me nuts!!!!!!
Gotta check for any bad connection or bad wires. Exhaust leaks will cause it also. But I don’t think an upstream sensor would cause that. It would have given you a different code.
@@JCAUTOMOTIVE4444 I got this diagnosed at the dealer and he replaced the downstream sensor. I did ask him if there were any exhaust leaks and he said that wasn’t the case. I think he said 1 year 12000 miles warranty on parts and labor to be honored at any dealer.
The only true way to tell would be checking voltage. The manual says if your voltage stays between 0.3-0.8V for 2 minutes at 3000 RPM to change out the sensor. I would say get a good brand but denso is good……. My go to brands are Bosch, denso and NTK for 02 sensors. But yea like I said only true way is checking data
@@JCAUTOMOTIVE4444 Makes sense. Thank you!
I just bought a 2006 Civic with 125k miles on it. The seller told me the engine block leaks. I’m wonder how your fix has been holding up now that it’s been 6 years? My hope is for this to be my kids high school car, so it’s only going to be used around town close to home.
Thanks for making these videos. Quick question; did you sand the block surface, or just clean it up really good?
It was resurfaced at a machine shop
For ur first time instructing, you have done a great job. Thanks
Could i possibly use a wrench of some sory
I got one bro help me find parts
I was surprised but oreilly had the vehicles parts.
Hi, if I just want to replace the lower coolant line. the one that you’re taking out at five minutes and 39 second will there be a lot of coolant if so, how much coolant do you think I would need to refill it?
Just finishing up doing this job I’d like to say thank you for all the help and detail that went into this series it really really helped a lot 👍
Thanks for the video.
Doesnt the timing chain move counter clockwise when taking off the crankshaft pully socket?
What size is the crank shaft pully socket? Im missing it and need to buy one.
What size are the head bolts ? I know there 12 point but what size ?
get rid of the Pimp music. Can't watch it anymore with it.
