Probably a combination of things - it was super hot out there and after three days might have been 'out of tires' .. looking at race hero times i think he was out there to pick up some points and head home.

Advice I received was it is possible to drain all the oil out and then not be able to get oil in if you cannot get that plug out .

Was amazing to see them run full tilt at Rennsport !

sounds like you found it - but it is a 17mm hex head that is on the driver side of the transmission towards the front. should fill just to the lower edge of this fill spot. i used the tube and pump shown in the video to get the oil in there. the drain is on the bottom - make sure to loosen both first before dumping all the trans fluid out so you are sure you can re fill when you are ready

awesome - the track is really nice. very predictable. for the 2023 race we had a lot of people getting in trouble - if you werent right on the line the track seemed to be very dirty/slick. had more 'incidents' than normal . the line seemed very good though

yes - pirelli slicks. however, the best results from the slicks are the first few heat cycles. if you are a pro team maybe you change slicks for every race - if you are a club racer - maybe you use them for 6 heat cycles. also - in racing you get passed or are passing or dealing with traffic all the time so you rarely get to run the lap you want without dealing with traffic , track condition etc. i would say 2.35 on 200tw tires is great. if you can do it 15 times in a row ..even better. i tihnk my presonal best on slicks is 2:27 . if you want to win at road america you probably need to run 2:24? something in there

nothing major - i held back a little when i saw it coming loose. didnt expect it to fly off at the fastest part of the track though! a few more dings on the front of the car.. thats racing. at least it didnt cut a tire.

In a PCA race weekend they usually do three races - up to the organizer to decide the format but generally - three 40 min sprints - or - 2 sprints and 1 enduro. most endurance races are 60 min - this avoids fueling needs for the cars. they do a mandatory pit stop of 5 min during the race for teams to check tires, hydrate etc. nothing like WRL or whatever -that race 8 hours. 60 min -90 min is pretty much the PCA limit - can be fun putting all the classes of Porsche cars out at one time. lots of traffic to deal with and different car speeds and cornering capabilities.. etc.
