Curtain track won't close

Re-adjust a centre opening curtain track.Australia
I am trying to join two very short cords together, inside my ceiling hung curtain rail, can I join by stitching them together? or can I get the cord out and rethread through the existing circle hooks?
Hi Curious. You could tie a small knot, but only if that join does not need to go through a pulley.Best thing is to replace the cord or remove the cord and operate the curtains by hand. N.B. if the cord is broken or frayed it is usually indicates a problem with the cording anyway. Good Luck.
Great instructions, helped me out heaps 👌🏼thank you
You're welcome!
Thanks! <3
Any time
Thank you SO much
No problem
Awful explanation!!
suppose you want your money back
I've just re-corded three wide tracks that were quite messed up (I bought an ex-rental from hell to live in) and this video helped me heaps! I'd forgotten how to do it. After a good clean (someone thought industrial grease might make them work argh!!!) and replacing the gliders they work perfectly. Very relieved to have them working and all of the centres match. Thank you!
Great to hear!
Thanks mate, problem solved
Glad it helped
Simple solution to a very annoying problem. Thank you!
great
Thanks John, after watching several videos yours's was the one that I used and finally got it right. The FIRST tie off is the most crucial one. Frustration was mounting before you came up with the solution.
no worries
Thank you for sharing your knowledge
glad to help
Thank you! Had to watch it several times and then stop and start as I went but we got there in the end, 🎉❤😅
well done
Where do I purchase the cord? In Australia btw, have a spotlight store near me
Anybody who makes curtain, tracks usually a curtain maker. yes spotlight or lincraft, Ebay. Most common size is 2.0 do not use 1.4 or 1.6mm. Good luck.
Clearly showed me how to replace the curtain cord. Thanks for taking the time to make this how to.
You're welcome!
Flushing from the Netherlands (in the orginal Zealand ;-) Says thanks a lot! It helped my 86 year old father and me to repair instead of despair! And it caused a nice father-daughter moment!
That's what its all about. Thank You.
Dam, doesn't show properly how to detach from brackets, or at least not the ones I have. My cord's still threaded, just the outer layer of the string is gone, so I can just follow it to rethread, but first I need to figure out how to get it down
There are many different brackets. Bottom line is they are all simple mechanics. Take your time & think iot out.
@@themav3420 I found another video that showed me how to do it, there's a screw on the outside of the brackets that needs unscrewing to release them. Not a case of "think it out" for me, I'm in a wheelchair & was sitting on milk crates to reach the curtain rod over my sink & could just reach it sitting on 4 milk crates high & leaning over, but certainly not get to a location where I could actually see the screw or what I was doing, I needed the information in advance as to what I had to feel for & manipulate to release them
Thanks so much. It took me an hour but I did it!
Great!
Solved my problem
great
Brilliant video - followed it and re-corded the curtains successfully. Not a chance I would have been able to do it without your explanations. A small flat head screwdriver was another good tool to use with the tweezers. Cheers
Fantastic!
Thanks slot, i fixed my curtain threads. It was simple now that you explained well
Great to hear!
Thank you i was having a hard time trying to do it but after your video i got it finally .. lots of thanks
Great job!
Good video John but just where do I attach my curtains to.
The video is to "Replace"a cord. Everything you need should be in the old track.?????? Including gliders.
Thank you! Just what I needed to know.
Great. hope it went well
Thank you so much! Job done.
You're welcome!
thanks mate, you are doing a great service for the public
Thanks. Hope I can save a few marriages.
Thanks for a great demo!!
My pleasure!
solved the curtain hooks apply and curtain cloth sliding problem, it works when when I hook the first pin to the start hole of the carrier and last pin to the last fixed hole near pulley, thanks again
Nice work!
great video !!! easy explanation !!! Thank you for this video. after I started applying curtains to sliders the curtain plates didn't move perfectly, they stay at same place, but only the cord moves. if the video would have been extended until the application of curtain to sliders and moving accordingly that would be appreciated
Really thankful for your wonderful explanation
It's my pleasure
Grazie dall'Italia!
no problem
This is easily the best and most informative video explaining how to feed the cord in curtain tracks so that the curtains open and close. I have spent countless hours trying to do feed the cords
Glad it was helpful!
You must be joking!
Thanks heaps I owe you a beer
No worries. Glad it helped.
P lol
Thank you so much for this. You've saved my sanity.
