Unpopular opinion - It’s Bad For Ya is Carlin’s best special. People typically think an artist’s earlier works are their best, which is one of the reasons why this special is not usually ranked as his #1. But number one is right where it belongs, imo.
"Why be proud of something you were born into" - Only demoralized White people have adopted this line of thought en masse. And those who hate White people on the basis of their race aren't asking anyone else this question. "Why be proud of something you were born into" = subverting an entire race into defenselessness, because they take no pride in their people, because they don't believe their race matters, or (increasingly) that race doesn't even exist.
It's the same way a parent can be proud of their children, children can also be proud of their parents, including long dead ancestors. Pride is not reserved for personal accomplishments.
Hahaha, nationalism is fake. The International Bank of Settlments are the Global king makers. They are the unelected rulers. Divide, take and concour. It's working slendedly
Oh, the material he would have in today's world. There will never be another like him. There was no one that ever came close to be able to articulately break down how truly insanely fucked humanity is while making it funny as George. He knew that things were just going to get worse and he was kind of a misanthrope the older he got. I'm sure he would be glad to not have to exist in today's woke ass, whack-a-doodle time. He was a prophetic comedian for sure. Everything he talked about at the end of his comedy career is at least 10 times worse now. I miss his comedy more than anyone else to ever do it. Still hoping for that asteroid myself George.
How about this month? Pride month. Proud to be gay? What the fuck does that mean? Why not just be happy that you're gay? Wait. Isn't that what gay means? Happy? Be happy that you're happy. 🙂
Why would a man who would probably rather piss on the bible try and quote the book of proverbs? WE MAY NEVER KNOW. To be fair, I can see an IMMIGRANT saying "Proud to be an American" because they made a choice to join our society and contribute to our progress, and THAT I think is awesome.
Now we have a month dedicated for people who are Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual and Queer which I don't know what that is. No one cares if your gay, No cares if your a lesbian, and no one cares if your Bi-Sexual. If people have a problem with it let them cry like babies. We really shouldn't have a holiday month dedicated to small a group of people who are not straight
I think when George Carlin meant to question everything, i dont think he meant, ask stupid questions that doesnt lead to anywhere like conspiracy nuts : P
I was introduced to George Carlin by the Episcopal minister in my small town who worked in the school library the evenings it was open. My friends and I would use the library equipment to produce our club's newsletter and the minister would play Carlin albums because he loved his humor and his humanity.
It’s tempting to suggest that the reason so much pride exists in America is to counteract the historical shame that has existed. People from many walks of life have been taught to feel ashamed of themselves throughout our history. But I don’t think that’s the reason we have this issue. I think, rather, that being yourself is such an impossibility in our culture generally that we attach pride to it, that we teach people to be proud of themselves and who they are because there’s so much conformity in this country that the minute someone seems to be authentic we fawn over them. It’s a sad commentary on our phoniness as a nation.
This is so relevant. People on real life and internet scream: Proud to be this...proud to be that... Why you proud to be something you don't have to do with. That's not an achievement 🤣
True! Pride is about personal achievement only. His argument also helps prove that we trust the bullsh*t our supposed leaders hand out because we can't trust ourselves or our own thinking. People are not who you want them to be.
Carlin is one of those dudes who was so meteoric, he’s still got room temp iq dudes arguing about who he would side with in modern political debate. King shit right there, especially when he called George W Bush a fascist on nation television.
Someone had to destroy tyranny in ww2 George. Those who died to give you the opportunity to profess your inane, while sometimes humorous, observations should be revered.
No those people should be proud george himself had nothing to do with it and neither did you just happen to be from the same country as them which is true for some slave owners, serial killers and war criminals like obama and george bush
@@willfire0310 He was talking about how pride in things you dont choose or control is stupid, and how that's what it says in Proverbs, and to not forget it. There was no joke before or after that. What's ironic is that you can't tell the difference between commentary, and jokes. Carlin is half and half. He does alot of preaching between jokes. See what i did there?
@@musicproductioncentral4540 you sound fun at parties. well since were explains jokes, the irony is how much he trashes the bible and then cites proverbs, in the same special. You git
He was so great. Unlike most people today, he had a BRAIN!!!!!! A BRAIN!
Its not even genetic.
I’m proud to have a predisposition for colon cancer 😆
Comedians are a great example of a lack of pride You just become a joke.
Since u been gone sire they have been bombarded with gender confusion and are more confused than ever in history.

IF Gods on your side, who's on mine?
I'm proud to have no pride.
I am proud that you have no pride about pride.
I'm proud that you're proud that I'm proud I have no pride. P.S. That sentence gives me a lot of pride. Peace on earth. @@Ragitsu

Wyatt Stagg is right about George Calin.

I taught myself to read and write when I was 3 or 4 years old. I thought everyone did that.
He was just brilliant... Sad loss..great chap... I would say God bless him...but he would just turn over in his grave and say...'Who gives a F..k'😅

True. Conquer*. Splendidly*.
Nice dog whistle.
George Carlin makes me happy
Never get enough of George Carlin. He was a philosopher, so his routine still hits the mark. Feels good to laugh loud. 👍
Does this mean i cant be proud of my tiny pecker?
🌿🌻🌿✌️✝️🌿🌻🌿🌎👍
So who else feels like playing this over a loud speaker in the modern "pride" parade events?
So the guy who said stand up to religion is reciting proverbs from the bible.... how fxcked is this assholes thinking.
Its an ironic usage. Also probably for the same reason christians use linguistic and cultural aspects from pagan cultures.

Ted Talk before it even existed!
I came back to this video to see I already liked it. I’d love to do it again.
National pride = fascism
Truthful words by George Carlin never die Immortalized through time.
This is really just how I feel about “gay pride”

I always thought of that , praying before going into battle. Though shalt not kill , your about to go do this on a mass scale ?
