In my opinion, ( I'm 76 ) the religious brainwashing we received as children is not as prevalent now. We had no choice. Once a child who hasn't been subjected to brainwashing has reached an age where they can think for themselves, and are able to think critically, stories of talking snakes, people rising from the dead, walking on water etc. are recognised as nonsense. None of my four grandchildren are religious, the eldest being 17. All are intelligent and far more knowledgeable than I was at their age. It's a different world. They are kind and considerate and interested in world affairs. Supernatural beliefs are seen as rather odd and a left over from the Dark Ages.

Christian sexual repression is not innocent, as it leads to an ugly level of sexual abuse. So take care whenever you are in the sexually toxic Christian community. Especially the child raping Roman Catholic Empire. Remember that idealism is always, always, always, based on denialism. This is why the Christian community is once again attacking the LGBT community as being sexually dangerous. Which is clearly a projection. LGBT folks are not groomers. As the evidence demonstrates the actual groomers are largely sexually repressed Christian males. They are just engaging in ugly and hateful deflection to hide and conceal their own sexual toxicity. Because the current Christian teachings on Human Sexuality are just as wrong as their teachings on Human Slavery used to be until quite recently. I would like, for example, to point out that having an abundance of information is not the same as being educated. How can an educated individual be so dependent on social media? An educated person would not see a conflict between science and (at least some versions of) religion/spirituality. They might even not see a conflict between science and art and other creative processes. An educated person would not posses herd mentality, create health/fitness issues. An educated person would do few other things differently. If religions would educate instead of indoctrinate, people of all strata would have a different attitude toward life.
