Don't be friends with your kid. Be their parent. Adolescents are NOT little adults; they're immature, incomplete people. I've coached children for 15 years, and EVERY time I had a difficult student, that student has a difficult parent. Not always the other way around (some kids are good in spite of their parents), but DEFINITELY the former.

Hi Victor, I want to thank you for starting this podcast. I was recommend this episode by someone I follow on Twitter and I began listening to others on Spotify. I am in my late twenties. I am currently pretty lost in life, unsure of which way to go. This is isolating and disheartening. I am lucky to be a relatively optimistic person so I can still look at my life with hope.
