HYT Watch Design Mixes Liquid and Metal - Engineering On The Edge
Переглядів 1,7 тис.12 років тому
Enter the HYT H1 concept watch, which is slated to make it's debut at Baselworld 2012 in March. The watch's titanium case encloses both liquid-driven pistons and standard mechanical gears. The pistons slowly push a luminous green liquid around the edge of the watch to indicate the current time. The watch has even been designed so that you can watch the pistons in motion.
Who measures water resistance in yards? It’s always either in feet or metres.
Ahhh another completely useless video 🤡👍
I don't see why the producers found Panerai instead of A.Lange for this episode. Assembly does not count. All the parts and decorations are made by machines. Its cheap and boring
Rumit banget bikinnya 👍👍👍👍👍
ترجمه للعربي
Arapik plies
This video is more focused on carving and making compartments to be put inside a movement as elemnts Not assembling it by man's hands. Do you possbily think that other brands such as rolex, pateck would make those little steel stuffs by hands? No way
ugliest watch
Awesome
So, it's almost exclusively made by machines. Why do they charge 10 grand for a watch, then?
In space manufacturing may be beneficial to thermal tolerances.
So that's how the Chinese do it.
Panerai watches are overpriced. The shitty thing is that their mechanisms are based on 1950s pocket watches. The watches are simply turned 90 degrees with the small dial at 9 o'clock rather than the 6 o'clock position. So don't get conned by so called Panerai quality or craftsmanship.
“Hand made”
As noted in the comment below, its a fake...
Based on this video this watch is not worth the money
really awesome. I'll buy a 312 the next days :)
surpriseinsideshop.com/collections/watches
robots robots machines machine robots, and it costs a fking bomb, thrash brand, nothing like the others. The employees are no watchmaking, more like layering rubbers and screwdriving
Bellisimo, Panerai is my 1st Choice for Luxury man's watch in 44 mm and 47 mm....Handsome heavy watches.....Panerai I love You.....
Rolex e il numero 1
Crazy machines !
Robot...Robots....Roboter....das ist keine teuer Uhren...
This is why Panerai is dog shit
THX intro lame
Nice to see robots doing humans jobs.
Interesting vid explaining why panerai is not worth more than $500.
you're so right. ETA movement in 5k watch, no thanks
Nice, but they're not worth more than 500$.
Lol Panerai is such a joke of a brand. No one in the watch industry respects them. I'm glad I sold mine years ago.
"no one in the watch industry respects them"...says the idiot. FACTS: Panerai is part of the Richemont SA Group of watch brands that includes A. Lange, IWC, Jaeger-LC, Piaget, Vacheron and many others. How's that for respect? LOL Group revenue for 2017 was 10.6 BILLION €. 2nd largest luxury company IN THE WORLD. Sales are up every year at Panerai.....they now make their own in-house movements. New Panerai exclusive boutiques are opened every year worldwide to satisfy the demand. Based on these FACTS...joke's on you. P.s. given how little you know about the watch industry I can bet my house you never owned a Panerai LOL
sooo, looks like 90% of all the work is done by robots, so, where's the craftsmanship and value? it looks like the actual price to these mass produced watches is about $100, it's ridiculous to pay more.
thats what i was thinking about. this watch is quite overprice... isnt it?
+kk Hong well the bad thing in this video is that it doesnt really show how the mechanism is made but just how the parts are made. I not trying to sell you that Im an expert, I wear a swatch but Im an enthusiast and I know a lot about automatic watches. Yes the PARTS of a luxury watch are made by computers so that they are precise. its the assembly and the time spent on the mechanism that makes the watch expensive. Like building a masive lego... the parts are made by a mold but the artwork is hand made
Yes, it would be ridiculous to pay a hefty price for just the parts shown manufactured in the video but the actual works(or value) goes to the watchmaker who spend ton of time to make sure that every SINGLE components(emphasized lol) of the watch work perfectly, and by that I mean they have to do many tests. It's not just knowing what parts go where(which already a heavy workload in itself) but to know if the resistance, the recoil, the frequency that the movement should be and much much more that I've no idea about.
PanErai!!!
I can work there for free.. because its a kind of Art.
THATS MY CUSUN RAE!!!
why does the watchmaker wear little condoms on his fingers? lol
so you wont get little fingerprints all over your new watch, and to prevent dirt and oils from causing corrosion.
so he doesn't make little baby fingerprints. duh
could they have picked an uglier panerai? do a 111 or a 212
4:35... man, you did it wrong!
true... must have scratched the top a bit
yeah, the escapement wheel
Looks a good product to me.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Strict production
Trying to explain delicasy of mechanical watches to people thinking Michael Kors is a luxurious watch is like trying to explain quantum mechanics to a plumber...don't try, they can't grasp it - let them have their casios :-)
You are completely right!
true😂😂😂
Arcord10 phahahahaha good one xD
Arcord10 So true but Casios is a respectable brand though. Look up some TGV reviews on Casio.
Casio>Michael Kors anyway
fuck me! take my money.
All nicely made, but mostly done my machine, and a bit of hand work. They seem well made, but it becomes hard to justify the prices that they charge for something so relatively simple.
kaunas888 simple? are you trolling ?
Not to mention the movement, RND, marketing, wages and markup.
all the machine and personnel working there are expensive, someone had to sit infront of the computer more than they should to program and draft out the dimensions and movement for the CNC to operate, not to mention the material so on and on
Kraftsman Sheng
took the words out my mouth. I appreciate all of it. The finishes, the details, complications, research and development etc...but at the end of the day I think the watch industry is having a laugh. They are joking us with the prices and I guess if there is people who pay for them they will keep raising the prices. There's no justification for the super high prices. Btw, I own a couple of relatively expensive watches. Yeah, They'''ve caught me..
and nowadays you can get cheapass watches where the gears are made form plastic - and not only do the last for couple of years, they are just as on time as those 30 000$ clocks. Then there are those made with ceramics and titanium - still cheaper than this, and rugged like hell. And then we come to the cheap electric watches that just beat the crap out of any mechanical in terms of accuracy. Mechanical watches are nothing more than jewelry nowadays. Big, heavy, expensive, and nothing else.
+ABaumstumpf If you're to wear a watch in 2016, better wear an expensive one. Time is everywhere, in you car dashboard, on your phone, on your computer.. You can also go from point a to point b with a crappy car, and you can live in a van down by the river.. I like my Rolex.
Brawndo *"If you're to wear a watch in 2016, better wear an expensive one."* Great argument - if you use a watch, better waste all your money instead of getting another far cheaper and better watch that looks just as good :D Well, maybe you have the fun of losing it :)
ABaumstumpf Don't worry for me, I'm not broke for a simple steel Rolex. Looks great in business meetings as well paired with a nice suit.
+Brawndo true that !
+ABaumstumpf you're paying for the craftsmanship bro, and mechanical watch can easily beat the crap out of quartz if adjusted properly, and remember: mechanical watch litterally last forever, a cheapass quartz will fail you after 5~10 years, without counting the battery changes
And we pay thousands for this garbage thinking is hand crafted!
+mabvc Most low end Swiss watches are made like this. When you get into investment watches, they are handcrafted.
+David Chen And you would never buy a Panerai for 10k+. You'd be looking at mid level Rolex's and Omega's or lowest end Audemars PIguet
you can't expect the case to be handcrafted by a blacksmith dude
wow
👍muy bueno...
Still in this world you can sell a $200 product in 15,000 & bad thing is the idiots who buy it feel proud about their idiocy
ur idiot?
20K? and thats it lol give me a break
4k is enough for base model.
wow seeing how these watch are made i cant believe their price... theres nothing special about them
complex2034 butthurt jealousy spotted
Awesome vid! So the material inside the watch is steel and brass right? Not gold?
gulfmen86 Gold could never stand the wear and tear of daily use, it's too soft.
Adventure-Andrew Is it the same for all watch brands? Because Patek and AP claim that its gold. The reason why I ask is because I cant wear any gold.
Adventure-Andrew The very prestigious watchmaker F. P. Journe's movements are made from yellow gold and the watches work perfectly.
+No User The Chrono Blue from Journe is Rose Gold :D
Elliot Jackson I know, I stated that Journe's movements are made of gold.
I believe he is wearing condoms at 1:48
