@@danixinhahhh watched it last night. They pulled off the single take idea well and i did enjoy the look of the film and sound design. The disorienting voices and clicking type sounds worked well. The story didn't play out as a gut punch of intensity and shock but was still executed well enough. I agree, wasn't the most original story and probably would have been more unique 10 or more years ago but i was still engaged with finding out what was going on. Enjoyed it and curious to see what the director does next.

It really wasn't that interesting, unfortunately...

I thought it was kind of predictable tbh, but I loved the visuals!

@@danixinhahhh yeah, her situation of getting stuck i saw coming pretty quickly but the twist of what was happening in the final moments was pretty creepy. *Trying to avoid spoilers and so being intentionally vague

@@danixinhahhh i did not rewatch the original beforehand but i probably should have. I recognized the chubby guy with the chef knife and that's when i realized i may be missing some connections between the two. I may go back and rewatch the first while the second is still in my head. A refresher may help tie some of the pieces together

Really?! I can't compare it to anything but as a standalone movie I think it works really well. As you said, very cool visuals!

@@danixinhahhh I've seen mostly negative "critiques" online. I make my own decisions but curiosity gets me to see what others thought about whatever movie or show. I appreciate your honest opinion and glad you enjoyed it.

@@danixinhahhh the more interested in a film i am, the more i avoid any trailers or information. Some of my best movie experiences have been from going in blind

I've never read the comics so I don't know but it's nice to know that this movie is more comic accurate

Just because I'm not a fan of the franchise it doesn't mean I can't have an opinion about this new film.

This one is supposed to be a sequel to the first one.

The third act, as I said, really surprised me. It has the same vibe as the ending in the original film but they added something else that shocked me! There's one particular scene that was pretty gross.
