Getting it off your chest with Nakedburn (The Bandecdotes Podcast)
Help us keep the lights on and become a channel member
ua-cam.com/channels/x7pJVwif8GhEFFa-eF1NLw.htmljoin
Welcome back to the channel Bandecfolks, Today we sat down with Luc Chiasson and Matt Guarrasi off Nakedburn.
Luc is the guitarist of Nakedburn and is quickly becoming one of the most talented producers/engineers in the Ontario music scene, working with countless bands weve featured on this show, if youve ever heard us raving about how good a mix sounds on a track (which we do a lot) there is a good chance Luc was involved. If you are a band and you are looking for someone to help discover and dial in your signature sound this is your guy.
Matt is the singer of Nakedburn, which was originally a solo project with Matt handling most instrumental work as well. Not only that he is an accomplished Cinematographer, Shooting videos for again, countless bands we've done reacts too. His previous work went under the Moniker of Portay All and he now works under the company name Spectrelight. Having an eye for film and also being a seasoned musician, Matt is able to really hone in on music video production and has helped many bands bring their songs to life with his video work.
Nakedburn is currently a band in a state of evolving, starting as just Matts vision the band is blossoming from a catchy sullen emo act into a full member post hardcore band, Matt jokes in this interview about removing the old catalogue because the new stuff is on another level and we are stoked to hear what they have cookin.

    I mean, Keith is a raging narcissist who has left a trail of hurt fans even before he left ETID. There’s always like 1-2 degrees of separation of ETIDIOTS who would have a “Keith was fucking awful to me” story. He just is such a vile piece of shit to his fans, likely because he’s a simp for Charles Bukowski and thinks if he emulates him people will think he’s cool. When Bukowski fucking loathed people like that who worshipped him. The irony is brilliant. Couple that with his very obvious Jesus imagery post-Ex Lives, the very obviously fake sobriety which is what likely caused him to bail on ETID and blame everyone but himself, his handler (sorry girlfriend) being an equally huge piece of shit, and finally the podcast post breakup where he shows how fucking tone deaf he is by saying people don’t like him are just “unhappy fans” ignoring any moment of self reflection or the trail of destruction he has left to the fans of his work. Ask yourself this, why did the ENTIRE band bail on Keith but Andy. Andy had to devote time to AEW because he’s killing it and likely making way more money there. But, he showed up to the BL first show and legit said “these are the guys that care about you all, the guys that love their fans” Keith controlled the narrative of the ETID breakup because none of them wanted to deal with it. Keith told lies about Jordan being abusive (absolutely untrue, Jordan is not even close to being anything other than an incredible kind and generous human), Steve even called out Keith when he said what he said, and Andy…the sweetest dude ever even is popping off, which…really shows how horrible Keith has to be to make someone like Andy talk shit. And yeah, I got a Keith story. 2018 Dallas Warped tour. I have New black lyrics on my forearms and they were super important to me. I had hung out with Jordan for like an hour before the signing, tried to show Keith, he told me “yeah cool whatever guy” and just shuffled me along while Andy gave him a fucking Luigi death stare, hugged me from across the booth and said “thank you for being such a huge fan”, Steve and Clay patted me on the shoulder and said how grateful they were, and Jordan came from around the table to hug me, cuz he saw I was about to cry my eyes out by it. Keith is a fucking vile narcissist who doesn’t understand self reflection unless he’s trying to fake his way through his admittedly good lyrics to act like he is someone who understands the depth of his actions.

  • @retalva420

    I feel like alot of it comes with ego and general creative control. Based from their previous openly aired beef, Keith seems to have anxiety / paranoia about not be able able to have certain / grasp control that he desired for ETID (him hearing his brother at the other greenroom talking bout replacing him) Thats the case, having 1 guy to write your whole album, of course its going to be a possible threat along the way. The ego part of it says, he knows he is irreplaceable. What shocks me the most is, if Charlie wrote the whole album, im curious about the royalties and legalities about the initial foundation of the band. Seems like he got screwed.

  • @kfizz
    @kfizz 18 днів тому

    I think he was too expensive in the band since he wrote it so they wanted a hired gun. I'd ask first if you'd like to be a touring member. Plus the drummer brother is the producer. So he can take a cut on his pay for drumming and still get paid for producing.

    This song f**kin slaps live. Saw them about a week ago and they played it before they closed out the show with Good Riddance, and it was amazing. You're overthinking this song, and I hope you've revisited it because it's in my opinion one of the best songs they've made in years. So simple and rockin and just feels good. Also yeah it is inclusive, but I honestly think it was more of an after thought rather than being crafted to intentionally be that way.

    Just to clarify; EC have never competed in the Eurovision Song Contest. They did apply to compete with the song Pump It, but the German ESC people didn’t think it would do well as it wasn’t radio-friendly enough. The song Hurrikan is a big fuck you to them about it. The first part of Hurrikan is based on German Schlager music, which to many is worse than any metal music, hence the warning at the start of the video 🙂

    Rise or die and enemy will probably always be their best. But something to be said about fys is I think they’ve always written the current most popular kind of punk music and add their own flavor to it, which makes it better than every other band in the genre. It’s our time was like old school senses fail + coheed and cambria. Rise or die was like set your goals with actual decent vocalists met lamb of god. Enemy is like the culmination of them perfecting that sound, though I still prefer most of the tracks on rod. In some way was their pop rock attempt at reaching beyond an “easycore” fanbase. The term easycore is honestly probably the worst thing to happen to fys and seriously stunted their growth because by comparison, every other easycore band there has ever been completely sucks. Like really bad. And somehow fys got lumped in with that bs genre. I feel like that album was just them having had enough of dealing with that. Ep and self titled were like capitalizing on the story so far style hype but of course with the flavor that only fys can bring, because they actually know how to play their instruments and write songs well. Brain pain was like an experimental take on that type of sound, and I think the new album now is capitalizing on the hype bands like turnstile have been getting, except fys is also light years better than turnstile
