Scrambler Timelapse Build - Honda FMX 650

I had a dream that one day I was going to build myself a motorcycle. So i did. I took everything apart, modified and made new parts and put everything back in my own style. The only thing I planned ahead of time was the tail light. I planned everything else on the fly. I hope you like the result!

    You guys really cleaned that one up nicely. Perfect. Nothing is faster on bumpy, tight, hilly roads than a thumper. I used to smoke many Ninjas, GS' s and FZ' s back in the day on my 600 Honda. They have twice the power but my bike is 100 lbs. lighter. I love it

    When i saw you leave that extra lenghth on the wood (for the space under the seat) i had respect for this build. THATS detail... Nice brotha! Sweet build!

    Well done guys, it's a good job, it's well filmed, and the time lapse is well paced. I have the same project here in France in 2024, I think this fuel tank is perfect for this bike, do you have a link to order it please?

    After getting hit by a car and destroying the subframe, I'm about to do the exact same thing, same bike, same tank, same style... Id appreciate any tips however small that you might share. I hope it turns out even a fraction as nice as yours. Well done

      @@mape_works thank you for the reply brother, I meant what I said! Iv just fabricated and welded on the subframe but can't afford any argon for my tig so using flux core. It's making a mess but progress is progress. The rear tank mount is on, about to start on the front but it's a Chinese cg125 tank so measurements are by eye lol. Iv made an new steering stop for the forks (drz400sm) that had to be rebuilt, including inner and outer stantions. Iv hand fitted the suzuki wheel and front caliper to fit on the trispoke wheel I have. Next job will be the electric/battery tray but without any argon it's gonna suck... We do what he have to tho right 😁👌🏼 I've rebuilt my 41mm keihin FCR-MX too that was a nightmare to jet before the crash so hopefully that is ready to go but it's waiting patiently... The jetting is another story lol. Anyway, take care man, thanks for the inspiration I wasn't joking and maybe I'll get mine finished before summer.. Andy.

    Perfection bro , but i will like it more if you replace the handlebar with a bracelet handlebars , i think this is a big upgrade for your cafe racer bike , anyway you did a great job there you deserve my subscription and like .

  • @TheMikesylv
    @TheMikesylv Рік тому

    Really like it but you violated the golden ratio rule of design 2/3 , 1/3 rule , the seat and fender need to go at least 2/3 back to the rear tire , the bike isn’t balanced front to rear sorry that’s why all these cafe a bikes look wrong , put a stub fender to 3/4 to back wheel then stand back and ask yourself honestly if it looks better and balanced, look at any Austen Martin and start measuring the entire car follows the golden ratio, Essentially 2/3 to 1/3

    • @mape_works

      I am just a guy with visions, I don’t follow any stupid rules

    • @TheMikesylv
      @TheMikesylv Рік тому

      @@mape_works I am sorry I word things wrong all the time , it’s not a rule it’s more like a design Philosophy it’s about balance symmetry following nature using nature as a guide per say, if you haven’t encountered the golden ratio it is utterly fascinating it’s ubiquitous in all life in the basic foundation of the universe, it completely changes how you look at the world around you, also I really like the bike which I probably didn’t say before, didn’t mean to be insulting
