Hello friends,
We've been staying in a beautiful old farm cottage in the middle of a woodland surrounded by lions, tigers, giraffes and cuddly koalas! It's been quite amazing really, so wanted to show you a glimpse of our weekend away and the cosy cottage we were lucky enough to stay in for the trip.
We stayed at the cottage with my Mum and younger brother who was around to help us with some work at our own cottage in the kitchen. We decided to go on a little road trip to celebrate the time we all had together and stayed at this pretty cottage for a few days, exploring the animal park and going on pretty walks.
My daughter had the most wonderful time exploring and of course she loved seeing her uncle and playing lots of games together, it's very sweet as she always asks to speak to him, see him and give him cuddles and I am so humbled by their cute relationship. She is also extremely close with my Mum as well who was reading to her when I filmed a lot of this (or having a nap).
The cottage is owned and part of the Longleat Estate, it's a beautiful old farm house that I personally wish I could buy and live in as it was just amazing! It's also a stones throw from the main house and park and was probably once lived in by workers of the stately home, long before it became an animal park.
Longleat was the first Safari Park to open outside of Africa in 1966 and has been thriving ever since. The Safari is an amazing drive through experience in which you can see all sorts of animals such as tigers, lions, cheeky monkeys that jumped all over our car, rhinos, camels and giraffes which were one of our favourite.
The cute cottage is for rent and you can stay in them as part of a visit, you will also get free access to the park.
I included a few videos from walking around the park, but not the drive through. I love to be in the moment as much as I can with my family, but did take a few videos I will share on shorts tonight too.
