James: Faith in Action - Wisdom for Daily Life
The Book of James is a New Testament letter that emphasizes practical wisdom and ethical living for believers. Attributed to James, the half-brother of Jesus, it integrates Jesus' teachings with the wisdom literature of Proverbs, urging a life wholly devoted to God.
The letter is structured around short, impactful teachings that are rich in metaphors and memorable phrases. Key themes include the importance of genuine faith demonstrated through actions, the pursuit of divine wisdom, the necessity of controlling one's speech, and the call to live humbly and justly.
James challenges believers to align their actions with their professed faith, promoting a holistic and mature Christian life. By combining Jesus' wisdom with practical advice, the book serves as a guide for ethical conduct and spiritual maturity.

      Matthew 1:18-25 puts it this way. 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being lal a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. 20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name la Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins." 22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23 "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us." 24 Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, 25 and a did not know her till she had brought forth herlel firstborn Son. And he called His name JESUS. For reference you check out biblegateway.com

      First off, congratulation on your success!! I have not been below 200 in decade plus, so hoping 190-195 by the end of this challenge. I plan to add an update this weekend, with four weeks completed I am down 14 pounds and 1.1 inches in the waist and 1.7 off the stomach as of March 10th. Very please with those results so far and taking pictures so I have a visual and fortunately I can see the changes. Not sure I will ever post them as they are shirtless photos, enjoying the challenge and learning from it. A change I have made, I started doing a 5-6 hours or so of a morning fast (meaning I don't eat until lunch). To help with the hunger, I take C-Burn from Redcon1 first thing of a morning. This Sunday will be week 5, but my update will most likely be on weeks 1-4 and then I will do a later update on weeks 5-8 and follow up with the total changes from the 12 weeks. Thie four week update is delayed a bit due to the weeks work travels.

      My man.. super proud of you! Your honesty and transparency is why I feel so comfortable and confident during my journey. I have been doing close to the same . As soon as I open my eyes I head to the elliptical for a 35 min cardio, and on Tuesday and Thursday a heavy weight training alternating muscle groups after work. I intend to add 1 more day of weights (as soon as I get a couple more minutes of me time)Drink at least a gallon of water daily and stay below my LoseIt daily calorie limit. If I can get results, with the success you have already achieved, I am confident your success will continue. Here are a few things that have helped me. One product I use that I like is C-Burn by redcon1. As far as a workout I love is the LIIFT More program from Beachbody. I used that and LIIFT 4 when I when I went from 290 to 215 Oct 22 to April 23. I still use LIIFT More and Beachbody, actually I just completed the chest and back by Joel Freeman in the Iron block. I even use his workouts in hotel fitness centers. My wife and daughter’s boyfriend also go to planet fitness. When I joined the challenge, they also gave us several workouts which I pull from at the gym or fitness center.

    Without talking much about it other than a note in the description, This kicked off ZepBound 2.5mg for me. Update, I was 231.8 the day I took the shot, my weight is now 226.8 (so some water weight in that), but changes are under way. Today was my first HIIT exercise. Slight pain, so went 18-20 minutes, but slowly working back up to where my training was. Just started the workout, so no impact on weight loss at this point. Also back to tracking food with LoseIt since shot day.

      @Robert_Armstrong 11 місяців тому

      Things are looking up and your suggestion is the path I did choose to follow. I went to a chiropractor at the end of the year until I used my allotted insurance coverage. They would do a massage on the back every visit as well. Glad that helps you as well! My wife and I are building a routine to start next week (she’s a bit under the weather this week). I wanted to go without the assistance of a shot, but to get back to a stronger start here in 2024 I picked up the 2.5 MG of ZepBound today. I realized a long the way when I put the extra back on, if I ate something like candy I wanted more. The TRT (which I stopped) caused increased hunger and that job change stress caused extra eating, had I not been hurt and kept up my workout, I might not have gained, but I would have potentially kept a bad habit. I consider this part of the process that in the end may help me keep my guard up. I will go back to posting a few of these updates. Wishing you the best in 24.

My wife and I were just discussing the things that helped us achieve many of our initial goals, Mounjaro being a key component to go with multiple fitness and nutrition changes. Since hurting myself, I have mostly gone to Planet Fitness with my wife where I can focus on muscle groups while I healed. That has allowed me to get stronger, but it has not been the same calorie burn. I think healed enough now that in January (not a new years resolution) I can return to being more active with my workouts, going to do a balance of Planet Fitness and the workouts that helped me achieve my results. My wife and I are going to make 2024 a year of focus to improve our overall fitness levels. Maybe one of these days I can convince her to join me for a video where we talk about what has worked for both of us (similarities and differences). Best of luck and wishing you great success. First off, congratulations on the 121 pounds lost, that is amazing! Hopefully you can continue to have coverage for Mounjaro. Staying on Mounjaro was not an option for me, but if I could have, I would have definitely considered staying on it longer as it is such a game changer and provides so many benefits. When it comes to the working out, doing general task are so much different these days after the weight loss and the added endurance and strength from the workouts. Now, it’s even simple things like not thinking about the closer parking spot. I also never realized how unhealthy I looked to others at times. We were moving a year ago and family would be like, “you better rest a few minutes” or “you better let them handle that.” No one does that anymore, because the weight loss and working out have been true game changers. It’s taken some adjustments, but post Mounjaro success is possible if it comes to that. I have lost 2.6 inches from my waist in the past three months post Mounjaro primary from the workouts, even at a closer to maintenance level of calories, so the working out makes a difference in post Mounjaro success. My weight sets right about 210 pounds, can be a couple pounds less and a couple more, but 210 has been the stabilized point in the national fluctuations. Continued success to you!

      Thank you! I appreciate your kind comments. I wanted to make the video a question like format so any one listening could ask themselves the questions and hopefully lead to them digging into the scripts for truth. I like the editing you do, as you observed I did do this as a single cut, but I think I should do more edits and more cuts. Have a blessed day!!

    Why people think it's a good idea to try to talk and blast music in the background is beyond me. I'm watchable too distracting

    • @Robert_Armstrong
      @Robert_Armstrong Рік тому

      Sorry you find the music distracting. It was actually set at a very low setting, somewhere around 3-5% which is typically just a background noise cover. Not sure why this one would be louder. If you want to see a video with more detail that’s more recent. Not that the cat is scary, but the unexpectedness of the cat during a baseball game. Maybe the cat was just there to see the Fletchers too. lol. The women in the video are Emily Edwards the fiancée of D-backs outfielder Dominic Fletcher, and Kierra is the wife of Dominic’s brother, Angels infielder David Fletcher.

    Happ hasn’t played in his last ASG. Dude has become such a well rounded ballplayer with more playing time. His OBP and walks this year are insane. A huge part of the Cubs and their future.

      Showing some clear signs of being that tandem. Alzolay appears to be taking the job now and it won't be long for Amaya either. Amaya has been more impressive than the minor league numbers and he could be more than just that good defender ok hitter

      @Robert_Armstrong 100%. The stuff is definitely there for Alzolay, I'd like to see him miss more bats but he seems to be receptive of his new role. I'd like to see Amaya get more playing time as well, but with Gomes and Barnhart signed, it makes sense.
