He does not need to own a hotel. He's so busy pinching pennies that he's pinching himself out of customers.

They NEEDED to address the restaurant and communal areas before doing any more bedrooms IMO. The communal areas were VERY dated and I wouldn't pay the price they were asking even for refurbed rooms, with the rest looking like that. Also another area not addressed was breakfast which needed an upgrade and revamp because what they were serving looked like a €5 greasy spoon offering, wheras they were looking €200 per night. Also jaxuzzi baths REALLY? These cost a small fortune to maintain, are a nightmare to clean, break down regularly and spare parts cost a small fortune and often have to be specially imported and can only be fitted by specialist fitters in many cases. These are all factors noone has looked into here. Also note the 2k waterproof tv and where its located its in the wall to the SIDE of the bath a totally impractical position as you cannot watch it from the bath withoiut majorly straining and hurting your neck! If you're going to have the darn thing at all, put it at the foot of the bath where people can lay back and watch comfortably at least! Honestly, if these people had brains......😂

This owner is a brat. Always insulting her guests and she thinks she is avant garde. She is an aging faded blonde that wears too much eye makeup and thinks she is a teen ager. And she needs to ditch those ugly, dirty cushions.

I find it hard to believe that he grew up in "care" and then became a self-made millionaire businessman who is able to present himself as a man of high breeding. Does not compute. I didn't grow up in care, but I did spend crucial years there. I don't know what it is like now, but "care" homes back in the day were cesspools from hell. When you reached a certain age (I don't recall if it was 16 or 18), you were thrown out on the street. That is, if you hadn't run away (as I did) due to lying, vicious social workers. There were no educational opportunities, no training. If you got a job they found out about they took away all your money so you couldn't save to get a home after you were chucked out. Many kids living rough on the streets came from "care" homes. When someone has a bad childhood, the things that often do the most damage are down to what your parents _didn't_ do rather than what they did. The "care" system made no effort to teach children and teenagers how to be functioning adults. The damage this would do to "care home" children when they became young adults is incalculable. I admit to feeling irritated - perhaps triggered - by this insufferable man. I know from personal experience how tough it was to survive living inside the system and what it does to you. Every scrap of energy you have is spent on desperately trying to survive. I imagine that the chances of making a success of life with a bad homelife and then damage done by the "care" system is statistically very low. Something like non-existent low. He doesn't read like someone who has been through this. Somewhere down the line someone has given him radical, life changing help. I don't feel any gratitude. Not a bean sized amount. As I said at the start: This does not compute.

The 'green crowd' journalists are ghastly! The food is terrific and generous and it's a gorgeous place to stay by all appearances.

Id recommend to keep the nuts on the side by them selves and in a airtight container because its a verry common allergy.

The horrible cages she have is horrendous towards the animals! Youd think someone claiming to be so keen into animals and their care wuld have propper cages.

The first room was nice BUT horrendous headboard and messy bed. White 100% cotton only! Btw why did hotels stick those HORRENDOUS sun lounges on the front of the building. Cheap and tacky. I’ve always avoided booking in any place with that frontage. Why on earth don’t they do a 12 month update. Would complete the show as we never know what happens, usually!

Hope he and his new wife are doing well.

Although Ruth knows what she’s talking about, I’d find it difficult to take advice from someone that wears a string of cheap plastic buttons around her neck….🤨

The wife is a baby and a nasty piece of work. Awful woman. Selfish child. Bet the family were so angry watching her on this. Her daughter looks mortified. She'll be a terrible mother if she's like that. Poor kids. How she can take familys money and not be on the rota is disgraceful!

and she doesn't wash the toys and stuffed animals each night someone stays in a room etc.. and children spread so much, so easy. zero sanitation, as a parent this hotel, regardless of cost is a hard never.

I've never seen a family more unsuited to the hospitality industry.

That woman really has a fragile ego, she mentioned more than once, her husband and Ruth against her. Poor attitude, when Ruth is there to help and has knowledge. Soak it up while you can!

And that kind of behaviour of this mom is so annoying that everyone starts to think that maybe it would be better without her in general and wish her to disappear.

He didn’t even do the first thing she asked. Why waste her time if he doesn’t want to use her advice? It’s not about his ability to sell, it’s about him seeing it as being beneath him. He said initially he wants flash cars and living the big shot life but unless you are born into money, you need to vigorously go out and work for it, not hide in an office and read your newspaper. It won’t come to you. You have to pursue it.

If you dont want to do stars then dont be a hotellier. That's like owning a shop and not having shop windows. He doesn't understand what stars are for. They are to communicate what guests are paying for. How is he right and all other hotels wrong... including the successful ones? For someone who doesn't want riff raff... the star system is HOW to prevent that. He's an idiot.
