The third movement from Vavaldi's violin concerto, 'Summer' from The Four Seasons. Sometimes called 'storm' sometimes 'presto'. A wonderful piece dating back to 1725. Around 100 years before the guitar I'm playing was built in Mirecourt, France.

Meditation was in Act II of French composer Jules Massenet's opera Thaïs. Written for solo violin and orchestra but today, it was played on a c1830, Charotte Millot guitar. Made in Mirecourt France and appreciated by Marie the Jack Russell. Enjoy

Surprisingly, they were only made popular in the early part of the 20th century by Pablo Casals who first recorded them in 1936 - over 200 years since they were written.

Danse macabre, Op. 40, is a symphonic poem for orchestra by the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns. It premiered 24 January 1875. It is in the key of G minor. It started out in 1872 as an art song for voice and piano with a French text by the poet Henri Cazalis, based on the play Danza macàbra by Camillo Antona-Traversi [wikipedia]
