Neo Drift Out is still one of my favorite racing games. And on a fight stick no less. Amazing it feels so right.
Yeah it plays great on a stick, i am waiting on the reprint of the cd version but they keep delaying it.
I tried turbo outrun recently, not sure about you, but I didn’t like how it felt. The controls felt really imprecise to me. Idk maybe it was just me, but I uninstalled it fairly quickly.
not tried it on analouge but its fine using an arcade stick.
The game is not worthy of the Neo Geo hardware.Tiny sprites and amateurish graphics.Gameplay seems more annoying than fun.Would even have a hard time competing against mediocre Mega Drive games.
i have not gone back to it.

Dumb question, but how do you plug in the sub board buttons to your brook adapter? The labeling on the brook doesn’t make any sense and I’m not sure where things like the touchpad etc would be mapped to.
Right what you need to do is the playstation setup, so looking at the cab top row of buttons from left to right are going to be button 1,2,3,4 now look on the brook board and run the button to 1p,2p,3p,4p so they go to the same numbers, now do the same with the bottom row button 5,6,7,8 got to 5k,6k,7k,8k. the touch pad, home, l3,r3 are going to be new buttons and you will have to mod one of the panels to fit them. turbo button will be extra as well if needed and you can add a ltaching button to select DP mode or LS mode super handy at times that is. Quick note 1P stands for punch one or weak punch so think street fighter and 1K stands for kick one or weak kick hope that helps.

This game is really impressive. The intro cinematic is gorgeous, so much detail to be seen everywhere. It also runs really well. I'd take this over Metal Slug. I pray that they do a Switch release someday like their other games.

As a forty year old that still play lots of retro games to this day, I must say that this game is one of the absolutely worst games of it's kind, as you said the characters have no difference, their comments are cringeworthy and anticlimatic for the game's tone, the music is fine but nothing special while the level design is atrocious, back then fifty cents was enough for one credit and I would already have regretted paying that, I explained this to Steam in a sincere manner, first a person told me no "Because you have not made any noteworthy investments in us", as I complained then another one actually apologized for the first guy's behavior and wrote "of course! I will be more than happy to refund you" Considering most of the administrators of Steam are greedy and words I cannot write here, this was in fact a positive experience, due to the cringy and extremely repetitive lines, unbalanced weapons and all characters having even the same lines with the same voice, I sincerely thought this was an indie game in it's early alpha stages It certainly plays like it, I play retro games because they all have a charm today's games can't match, so in my genuine opinion this is the absolutely worst run and gun game ever, with none of such charm Ironically I kind of liked the bass, but on the pc there should have been an option to reduce it

Do you have any tips for adding usbs for controllers. I see some of the links, but I don't quite understand which were used to make the USB ports. And I should double check that will work if I'm trying to run original arcade hardware
Idk, if it's connecting directly to the brooks board. I assume you connect it to the brooks board. I don't know if you have it set to a switch so it goes to the panel by default and a switch for the USB port or if it's all running through the brook
i used this and added it to the panal, you get 2 usb cables on the other end to plug in to say a console or pc, then you can just plug a controler in to the panel. as for original arcade hardware you will be using the control panal on the cab, plus original hardware normaly will use JVS or Fast IO that connects to the control panel.
There is technically one other game, Magical Pachinko Cotton, but its basically a Pachinko sim with Cotton slapped on, so it doesn’t count

@@RetroTuna It was an old 2003 PS2 game. Personally, we have all the main games that matter, so I’m glad. Now I just need to figure out the mystery of adding credits. I’ve had no luck so far as it isn’t standalone buttons during gameplay nor the pause screen
@@AWMonopolyMan it only came out on the dreamcast. not shore if you can add credits but you can continue a few times.

it's a fun game but nothing special, they have only done 2 3d games the megadrive and the dreamcast version.

What do you think of the new CRT filters? I just downloaded them this weekend and they are sweet, totally new experience for me now, wasn't using it barely ever on dock before
The filters are great and it does make the dock more usable, i do prefure retro gaming with scanlines but from the start i have had the dock connected to my scanline generator and to be honest it looks better. The pocket has been getting a lot of love laterly it's turning out to a great little fpga, console also the irem arcade games dropped yesterday.

I welcome new neo games, but this looks more like an MD title. I like that auto fire is baked in and at a good rate, the timer is a stuoid idea. What emulators can you run it in? I quite like the 'Tude' style, feels like a system launch game. Are new AES carts printed on actual boards wirh chips or something more like a flash cart? Just wondered why they're still so expensive. I thought it might be cheaper to produce them these days.
It does look like a megadrive game, it can be played on the analogue pocket, neosd, neogeo cartridge, castoff cartridge,mister, Mame, Dreamcast, pc, Mvsx and psp. As for as I know new neogeo cart use chips and can’t be updated so there not sd chips but technically there the same as roms just easier to re write.
Yeah the time limit is silly just forces you to try and run through sections and hope you dont get killed. not shore what type of chips they use in new cartridges and not seen any videos of people taken them apart.

The one "secret game" (that unlocks by having both cartridges inserted) is a bit of a baffling disappointment to me: the Mega Drive version of Zero Wing _is better than_ the arcade… and nobody believes me, but the Mega Drive version of Hellfire *is also* _better than the arcade._
it is a bit odd having twin hawk i agree, yep the megadrive version of zero wing does not have the flashing when killing things, it has way better music than the arcade and the intro, but the graphics are not as good but they aint bad at all. with the flashing removed their both good but i would play the megadrive one for the stunning music.

I Love Dodonpachi and Progear, but this one takes the crown. It is amazing. It was the very first bullet hell shooter that I ever tried. It is hard to go back to classic shoot em ups after playing this :)

@@RetroTuna This is the answer I've been waiting for all day. With infinite credits at least you can have unlimited opportunities to practice the tricky parts of the games to master your skills. This is the primary reason why the unibios chip is so useful. I just wished it worked for the game Gunlord.🙏

Wishing there was a metal box, or sturdy 3d printed self assembly replacement case for the provided box.
Yeah a case nmade for it would be very usefull, the stick is pretty deep and your going to have issues finding a case that fits, maybe some of the old hori real arcade bases will fit.
