What Surprised Me Most About America: My First Time in Atlanta
Step into my shoes as I explore Atlanta, Georgia, during my first trip to America! As a Kenyan traveler, I’ve always been curious about the USA, its culture, and its iconic cities. In this video, I’ll share my personal experiences, from navigating U.S. immigration to discovering Atlanta’s vibrant landmarks and unique quirks.
Join me as I walk through Centennial Olympic Park, visit the historic Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, and immerse myself in the fascinating exhibits at the World of Coca-Cola. I’ll also share insights on Atlanta’s history, including its rise as a major transportation hub and its resilience after the Civil War. Plus, find out what surprised me most about life in the U.S., from paying for trolleys at the airport to the reality of the “American Dream.”
Whether you’re a travel enthusiast, an Atlanta local, or someone dreaming of visiting the U.S., this video will give you a unique perspective on America through the eyes of a first-time visitor. Excellent video, very informative and very well presented. Thank you for showing Jamaica in a good light, the joy you show being in Jamaica is infectious. I'm definitely going to visit Kenya in the very near future. Stay blessed and safe my sister. Nuff love from a Jamaican living in Britain. 💯♥️🙏🏿👊🏿🎉🇯🇲🎉🇯🇲🎉
Carnival (is a company that develops cruise ports) Is killing the indigenous peoples livelihood by not allowing them even a small spot for the open air space to sell to the tourists. The last place for this was the BVI (British Virgin Island) Pier Park. I remember some of the places before the it was destroyed by the greedy people.

Coming from African Tigress
Hi Phil, Love your scenic Video. ..enjoyed the Tour. Pity no one told you about "MONKEY HILL" in the Parish of St.Peter, nor about "SOFA STONE." IT's a Stone naturally designed in the form of a LOVE SEAT, at the summit of "Monkey Hill". At that height, if you think " FRIGATE BAY "scenery showing Nevis ( Pronounced "Neevis) was the "BEST VIEW EVER," well , the summit of MONKEY HILL is even GREATER. You can actually seE at least 180 breath taking degrees of the Parish, which includes Basseterre. So if you plan to return for Part 2, please get a Tour Guide. You've only touched the Surface. For example, ST.KITTS was divided into three (3) sections. 1. BASSETERRE (French for low ground/ below sea level) . It was the Seat of Power for the FRENCH Governor, PHILLIPE de LONGVILLIERS de POINCEY. A local flower was named after him, "the Poinciana". He was also responsible for the importation of the Green Vervet Monkeys, which today are an Agricultural Terrorist Group.. descendants doing exactly what their Ancestors did during slavery, by destroying the Runaway Slaves Crops. 2. THE BRITISH SECTION ( Old Road Town-Sandy Point- Verchilds-Middle Island (sir Thomas Warner's Tomb) 3. CAPISTERRE ( French for Hi Ground). If you want to see many historical pics about St.Kitts, kindly visit on face book: OLD LIAMUIGA & OUALIE THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHS. (Liamuiga means Fertile Island... St.Kitts, per the Native American "ARAWAK/TAINOs.") There are several Albums.. so take your time. 🙂

😢😢😢"Chinatown!!" ... what DISGRACE! TRINIDAD has lost it's unique identify. Why do we need to call it "Chinatown"...!? is this New York?! 99% of the historical buildings have never been looked after since Independence and now they are almost non existent or ...gone! and replaced by hideous architecture! The place looks like a dirty, gang inhabited ghetto with residents boarded up in their homes in what WAS once attractive open and friendly , safe neighborhoods! The only redeeming features of Trinidad are the beautiful nature spots and birds... Hope these won't be destroyed too.... 😢
Nice vlog Phil 👊🏿😊

Please say Johnny Cakes instead of fry dumpling. In the fifties, when I was a child, that was its name. .Years ago, I saw johnny cakes for breakfast, mentioned in a Jamaican tourist guide. And it does sound a lot better.
I did not know they were called that. Good to know. I don't think I tried them, though. I ended up only having the original boiled ones.
