Howz it going?! Thanks for having a look see. Here you will find mostly shooting content, some of it is harmless fun. Most of it is feral animal control with various tactics.
There will be some other random topics too that take my interest. Vintage machinery, classic cars and general out doors type stuff.

Feral cats or foxes, 12gauge shotgun does the job.
Some people may not understand but feral cat are a major problem in Australia. There is no shortage of information out there about that.
There is no civilisation within a 5km radius of where this cat was shot so I can guarantee is was no body's pet.
The old WW Greener loaded with BB's keeps getting the job done.

Back on morning calling. Taking foxes with the shotgun.

Morning calling is my preferred method of removing foxes. The Silva fox caller combined with the WW Greener 12 gauge prove a deadly combination once again.
Back on foxes. Innovative NV footage experiment.

Just trying to think out side the square and come up with better video footage for you all. Yes, just using the NV scope it a very easy convenient way to produce video. But I still prefer the old fashion light and conventional scope. Especially under moonlight. Rifle, Howa 1500 in .223 Scope, Redfield Revenge 4-12x40.
Two nights on the foxes. Both NV and spotlight.

Because of the lack of good footage from both nights I decided to combine both. Mostly my fault as I fumble my way through learning this high tech videoing stuff. The first night using the Marlin 917 topped with the InfiRay TD70. Second night I turned back to my tried and tested Howa .223, Redfield scope and Olight torch. I still prefer that setup. Just a side note, I am out there first and for...

An Average Night on Fox Patrol
Переглядів 1,3 тис.14 днів тому
Unfortunately my scope didn't record all the foxes shot. So I've done the best with what I have. Funny it can pick up on a misfire but not every shot 😣 Almost lost two foxes thanks to dud bullets, but quick recoveries got the job done.
Another one Bites the Shot! Compliments WW Greener

Another morning out with the WW Greener. One more fox taken for the day. The Silva fox whistle and the 12gauge loaded with BB's proved up to the task once again. Still my favourite way of getting foxes.
Calling foxes! WW Greener has a 32gram Package for you!

A successful morning out. Putting the Silva Fox whistle to work along with the old WW Greener. The action happens fast when it's on. What's not to love about a 120 year old English gun giving Mr fox the bad news.
Full Moon NV Foxing

Only a few foxes taken for the night. But it does offer some nice footage of the night vision scope under full moon without the use of the IR light. Scope is the Infiray TD70L V2.
Lithgow 22 LR vs fox (called in)
Переглядів 3,2 тис.Місяць тому
Quick morning outing resulted in an almost text book sample of calling in a fox with the "Silva" fox whistle. Effectively dispatched with my ever trusty old Lithgow 1B single shot 22lr topped with a super simple cheap 4x32 fixed scope and CCI minimag HP
Lithow 22 LR vs fox

Another one down for the Lithgow model 1B single shot 22. The grand daddy to the modern Lithgows. Nothing super special about this clip other than it's the first footage captured on my new action camera. Out on a short vermin patrol and spotted this guy headed for the tree line. A short stalk / ambush and no more chicken thief.
Lambing Paddock Fox Control #1

First time out with the night vision on foxes. Every fox shot here is a mile stone now because they are so shy now. One touch of the light and they're gone. So to get these five and all in one small area of the paddock is a bit of a mile stone.

I am new to foxing and am having no luck with an old tin whistle. Might have to get like yours.
Silvafox whistle, A little pricey and takes a bit of practice to get it right. But it is the best I've used
@@LtFrankDrebbin I couldn't believe how quickly you called them in. I will check Silvafox out....keep up the good work.
Nice berezka jacket
😁
How old is the WW Greener you have ???
Made in 1902 according to the serial no
I have the exact setup and it is a great combo on the foxes, well done mate. Wal
Thanks mate, I will say the tripod is new to me. That is a whole different skill to adapt to.
Forgot to ask, BBs or 2s
using 32gram (1-1/8oz) BB's

The bird is a Night Jar, don't see them often.
Thanks, first time I'd seen one and I'm out there often
Glad you did have a go, had some wonderful times in an AP5. Great work
Thankyou, I couldn't not try. Although I'm well out of my comfort zone with it 😁
Massive man eaters...... impressive. Glad you are checking them.
Looked like an Apostlebird.
Ok, thanks for that
Beautiful job you should be proud. You wouldn't think its the same car
Cheers man, glad you appreciate it.
We've done the same with our VC , not to much more to go. Was the roof liner a hard job ? I picture a lot of swearing if I do it
Ha ha don't worry my head lining took a lot of pretty language. Like most things would have been better with practice. Bust stressful when you only get one crack at it.
Awesome work bringing that so far gone AP5 back to life! Great video, Luv the dedication & all the before n after shots. Your an inspiration to us all! Cant wait to see it finished ✌️
Thanks for watching and thanks for the kind words. I will help me to keep pugging away at it 😁
Remember lots off cavity wax or fish oil and give it heaps nice job by the way
Thanks mate, yeah all the nooks are getting flooded with good stuff as I go.
Ap5 valiant paid $150 bucks for it kidney mags same blue fully restored just needed paint and my father sold it i wasnt happy
😱 That would be absolutely tragic!
Misfires not acceptable from expensive ammo,

I totally agree, Hornady use to be 100% reliable. Not now.

Cheers mate. Yeah I don't have any dogs yet 😎
God bless the Greener.
Had I not known better, I could swear that you are around where I grew up here in South Africa. (Northern Cape/ Kalahari) The terrain looks exactly the same. We just hunt them jackals a bit different. Good job nonetheless.
Southern Western Australia, we'd be around the same latitude so I guess the climate would be similar giving us comparable country. Thanks for watching.
@@LtFrankDrebbin pleasure mate. And yes, the climate is more or less the same. A visit to Aus is on my bucket list.
Beautiful old dbl barrel mate! Hows old mate Goanna... out for an afternoon stroll!!
Thanks mate, yeah it's not all about the hunting. There is the other bonus experiences you while out and about
Looks fun. Sadly in U.K. fox driving and calling seems to be a thing of the past , it’s all rifles and thermal now
I have very much noticed the same pattern. It all seems to be thermal now. Yes I am guilty of using NV as of late purely for the vermin control side. But day calling with the shotgun can't be beat!
I am from Melbourne. My father used a WW Greener hammerless shotgun when he was young and living in Dunolly, Victoria. I have a picture of him with it. I believe the people he knew still have it. Also there is another one in the Dunolly museum. He told me that it had a kick of a mule when fired. Nice video and don,t get rid of the gun as they are extremely rare in Australia I was told.
Awesome info to hear, thanks for sharing. Thing is mine is a beautiful gun to shoot with 1oz loads as designed. It just gets savage on the 1-1/8th loads. It has been proofed for 1-1/4 but I won't exceed the 1-1/8th.
@@LtFrankDrebbin I have to laught at myself here as I thought you meant WA as in Western Australia!! I take it you live in Washington state in the USA??
@@gregw9289 You are correct the first time. I am in Western Australia.
Sick scumbag
Nice Greener looks like F25 or ejector FH25, game gun? Chokes?. I shot 6 foxes this year with my BSA s/s with BB, 15-30m, BB kill well and break bones. Wheres about in WA?
Not sure what model or grade, those marks are quite faint now. The proof marks put it in the 1896-1904 manufacture range. But yeah auto ejector chokes are 1/2 & full. There is something so elegant the way an old English SxS handles. Sometimes I think I don't deserve this one. And yes WA. Thanks for watching.
Nice, I have a Greener book with all the models & grades, with the serial no. I can date the gun. The amount of engraving is a good indication of grade, nitro proof 1 1/4oz generally 2 3/4" chamber, 1 1/8 oz 2 1/2".
@@bruceyeoward6544 Cheers thanks, I have done a little google digging just recently and found info that was not available when I first got the gun. According to serial no# I believe it is a hand made gun from 1902
You're quite a lousy shot. How can you be proud of such ineptitude?
Wow...That's nice.
I used to have a very old one of those. I got it in a take one take all deal with a sporterised .303 and a pump action Colt .44 carbine in 66-67. I wanted the Colt, but the only one I kept was the .22. What I really liked about it was the nice heavy barrel that shot straight and true over the years. It came with a cheap 2x scope that lasted as long as the rifle. The only problem I ever had with it was that the ejector didn't always work, but a modified little flat tip screwdriver was the solution. Nothing fancy about the rifle, but a great little piece of kit.
🤧
😁
Good shooting what model is your old Lithgow ( 1 or 1A or 1B model ) just interested great little guns 👍🤠

Had a gun smith fit a rail just forward of the breech. That would have been 25-ish years ago.

@@mervyngreen6635 Yep they're great little rifles.
Goodo.

I still own it and still use it
Just a lovely shotgun. This is the same model that I carried for years while hunting pheasant. Enjoyed everything about it, including the side safety. Mine had 26” barrels, choked with improved cylinder/ mod. Barrels patterned well at 40 yds.
Thankyou very much. I often question myself on weather I deserve such a nice old gun 😁
Complete reloading novice here. I'm looking at getting something like a classic, ol' Winchester 92 and have noticed that the 25-20 is a particularly cheap calibre of rifle to buy. Is it difficult getting the components to reload in this calibre? If not, is there any other reason why this calibre is so cheap?
Brass could be your biggest challenge. It is hard to find now. It is not too hard to form 32-20 brass into 25-20 though. Aside from that the 25-20 is a fun little cartridge to load and shoot.
@@LtFrankDrebbin Thanks for the response. As I said, I'm new to reloading and want to start with a relatively easy calibre to reload with. 32-20 seems to be firming as my most likely choice. Cheers
@@ohlordy2042 I have owned a 32-20 in the past, and yes I would say they are more reloader friendly. Some people have issues with the thin case wall, but I never found that an issue. From mild with the 115 grain cast to wild with the 85 grain XTP they are a lot of fun!
Good luck finding 32-20 brass now to reform to 25-20.... those are the Doe Doe birds of the cartridge world... have about 500 loaded up from original brass and reformed 32-20 brass.. small pistol primers, Missouri bullet Co still has bullets, but bought out the last 32-20 brass from Starline 5 years ago...
Also 4227 powder...
