How to Find Beam Deflection | Simply Supported Beam / Shaft | SolidWorks Simulation for Beginners
On this video tutorial we are going to learn how to set up a round shaft beam profile and create a static simulation to find the deflection at a point. SolidWorks Simulation Result are then compared to the hand calculated values.
This is another classic classroom problem, hope you enjoy!
Learning Outcomes from this video:
• Setup beam for simulation
• FEA (Finite Element Analysis)
• Deflection
• Read and modify results
• Use of Weldment tool
Thank you for watching! Enjoy!

How to Find Reaction Forces in SolidWorks | FEA for beginners | SolidWorks Simulation
Переглядів 7843 місяці тому
In SolidWorks you can list reaction forces on selected entities for an active static, nonlinear study. The software lists the X-, Y-, Z-components of the reaction force, and the resultant reaction force on the selected entities. To list reaction forces, after running the analysis, right-click Results and select List Result Force. In the Property Manager, under Options select Reaction force. Hop...
Bending, Shear & 1st Principal Stress | Combined Forces | FEA for beginners | SolidWorks Simulation
Переглядів 7654 місяці тому
Bending and shear stresses are covered in this tutorial. Also, the 1st principal stress is simulated, it gives you the value of stress that is normal to the plane in which the shear stress is zero. The 1st principal stress helps you understand the maximum tensile stress induced in the part due to the loading conditions. The results are compared to the theoretical values. This video will go over...
Pressure Vessel | Hoop and Longitudinal Stresses | FEA for beginners | SolidWorks Simulation

Hello, 😊 Pressure vessel analysis is a type of simulation that allows you to evaluate the performance and safety of pressure vessels under various loading scenarios. Pressure vessels are containers that hold fluids or gases at high pressures, such as boilers, reactors, and storage tanks. To find hoop and longitudinal stress in SolidWorks, you can use the following steps: Create a cylindrical mo...

How to calculate Von Mises Stress | Combined Forces | FEA for beginners | SolidWorks Simulation
Переглядів 4,3 тис.9 місяців тому
The von Mises stress equation considers the normal stresses (tensile and compressive) as well as shear stresses within the material at any given point. We use these values to calculate the equivalent stress on the material. In other words it is the combination of the tensile, compression and shear stresses into a single value, The result is compared to the yield strength of the material, which ...

Hi, I was looking for how to do the analysis and came across this site. It is very informative. I would like to ask you one question. At 12:41, it says FA=FB=21.0KN, FC=FD=14.8KN. How do you get these values in a normal calculation? If you don't mind, could you please tell me the equation?

When you add the fixed supports, I understand when 1 position is up (or down) but why is the other direction added? How do you know if the 2nd direction should be along the z or x axis?

Hello shouldn't the load be concentrated on the halfway distance of the 15 thickness? If so how you put load of 16 Kn totally distributed along the edge.that means that you should multiply this uniform 16 Kn load by 15 to get the equivalent point centered load. Am I correct?

Please give me some advice I have a problem with the simulation of screws, more precisely with one data that I need to enter, it is the PRE-LOAD data. I know what the bolt preload is and I have a table for these values. example for M10 8.8 Suggested Bolt Load 28.1 KN Approximate Torque 56.3 Nm But when I enter the bolt preload value, it gets unrealistic results. Can you tell me from which table to use for the metric thread. WHERE AM I GOING WRONG? thank you
