    Watching this after a kitten was brought in to the shelter in Wisconsin, USA and it was found outside. It didn't make it through the night and was totally limp. I thought it was already dead when a worker said they found a huge tick on it's neck about the size of the little fingers finger nail. Poor guy didn't make it through the night. It's crazy to see what animals all die from when they aren't protected and vaccinated by humans. Seeing the things that happen to strays/abandoned animals left on there own was a real eye opener. Good video and you are right. Catching this fast is the difference between life and death. That kitten was WAY to far gone when it was discovered.

    Well, I wished I would have watched a video like this. I lost my dog on 9-17-2024, and I didn't know how to do CPR. Yet, I'm not sure it would have helped. My dog was normal, went outside and barked at neighbor's kid, then did a cough or two. Then, just collapsed and everything shut off. No movement, no breathing, nothing. So, very sad now. Wife and I wished we could have helped her, but we think it might not have helped. NO SIGNS as to why it happened. But, I wish we would have tried.

    Should you be expecting the rib cage to break with canine CPR as it often does with humans (30% of the time)? Is the 'side' compression on the rib cage less stressful to the structure than the head-on CPR we do it with humans?

    Many years ago, our little fox terrier was running alongside a 4 wheeled mule on our farm. It somehow got struck by it and died. My husband was beside himself in grief as was I, but the little fella didn't appear to have any physical injuries we could see. I wonder if performing CPR on him would have revived him, I guess that is something we'll never know.

      Sometimes, there is nothing you can do. My dog passed just a few days ago (09-17-2024), and I think she had some type of aneuyrism. She was normal, barking, and just collapsed. Dead. So, I don't think CPR can revive them in all situations.

    My female Dachshund has repeatedly attacked toads. When we moved to Florida she got ahold of, bit, shakedown a Caine toad even though she was frothing terribly! I wiped her mouth gums etc with a cloth, then we took her to her vet. She already had abnormal blood work, showed some kidney problems and was kept for iv fluids, Valium to calm the shaking, plus some other meds. She got to come home that evening. It cost almost $900. 1) wish I had gotten her on pet health insurance, which I was thinking about 2) we got lax about checking the yard for toads after not seeing one for two months! Big mistake!

    Wish I'd of researched this 4 weeks ago. Lost my dog to one and I'm devastated.. if you own a dog or any animal please take this advice on board I feel guilty because I couldn't save my baby but I simply didn't know ... dont be like me and wish you knew.. research now and remember 3 to 5 days isn't long to notice mine had small symptoms on a Wednesday and Thursday seemed ok .. Friday a little off again and sadly died by the Saturday please understand ticks are deadly and as a dog owner you need to know.

    • @MrMrutube1987
      @MrMrutube1987 Рік тому

      @mattbooy1635 hi it was awkward she seemed off but I had 2 dogs and my other dog occasionally just seems off and like hides behind the TV or somewhere and when we google it it says things like headaches etc so when my pug was acting off we assumed it was just a bad stomach or a headache the symptoms where very unnoticeable at first but she seemed slightly off ... and we wernt certain what it was but we noticed a tiny black blob near her elbow area of her leg but she had afew blobs in her fur as birth marks so mistook it abit like is it a blob or not kinda thing and I got the tweezers and pulled it abit and it came away abit like ud imagen paint to so I wasn't sure if it was a tik or paint or something else and this was on the Thursday night.. and Friday she seemed OK in the morning so we figured was that it? Then Friday night she turned again but it was abit later she didn't massively turn to be honest she appeared to be abit constipated or something but actually had a tiny bit of diarrhea.. so we where confused and actually said because it was late on Friday night that if she was still bad in the morning we would take her to the vet and the kids actually said they would sleep downstairs with her give her abit of comfort and keep an eye on her but they fell asleep and Saturday morning when I got up for work I found that sadly she passed during the night... it was only after she died that we put the dots together and the symptoms and realised it must of been a tik .. so sorry to hear your dog is in a bad way but my dog didn't even get it removed correctly by a vet and get any serum for it. Really hope your dog makes a full recover please keel me updated.

      @mattbooy1635 as it happens my daughter actually took a video of her during the night and in that video it's pretty hard to watch because now we know she was only hours from death but she can be seen walking and stopping and starting and what looks like she's heaving but I'm guessing she was getting paralysis and struggling to breath 😔.. I know I sound like a bad pet owner but it all happened so fast and we didn't even know what to look out for but she was our baby and that's why I commented on the video so hopefully someone else who has dogs can become aware of what to look out for because until it happens to you you over look these things but it went from Wednesday to Saturday with VERY small symptoms that could easily be over looked as just an upset stomach or something.. just wish I knew before hand.
