Across Frontiers - WWII Short Film
On the 8th September 1943, thousands of allied prisoners of war escaped into the Italian countryside following the country's surrender. The occupying Germans hunted these escapers who were helped and sheltered by the brave and kind Italian Contadini, farmers who put their families and homes at great risk by doing so.

Great short film ! My Dad was a Partisan in north west Italy in WW2 . He told me a story about an American fighter pilot who bellied in when his P-47 was shot down in October 1944 . He made it back to his lines in February 1945 with the help of Italian citizens and the Partisans . I found out who the pilot was in 2006 and contacted him .He was grateful of a particular family you kept him hidden in Tosca Italy .
Why? Why they was so bad 😢 , my heart is ready to break 😭💔
Is it just me or was Dan snow in this?
If you need an Adolf I can act😂 I have the uniform too
As if you'd leave your uniforms in the barn to be found.
Outstanding film. Very sad ending. War always brings sad endings for everyone involved.
I’ll never understand how even in those days working under a maniac how even the German people themselves could be so evil
It's odd how there's an SS-Oberfuehrer in command of a squad of enlisted Heer soldiers tasked with transferring prisoners. It seems that would be a job for an Obersturmfuehrer at most, and he would be in charge of SS personnel, but this is a great film nonetheless. Good job! I guess you have to use the uniforms you have available for a low budget short, but you did an admirable job. The actors were very good.
goddamn this is sad, please make a part 2. it may have been 6 years but PLEASE i need to see what happens
Very tearful what humanity should be like , nice Italian families
How much did this cost to make £1 worst uniforms worst wrong insignia etc etc
Thank you for your input, Nigel. Much appreciated
Bro dropped a banger and dipped
An amazing film. It completely blew me away. It is reassuring to know that young talented directors are carrying the flame. Thank you for this masterpiece and good luck!
Thank you!
@@zakjarvis8998 If you fancy a giggle, please watch Wartime, World War II in Europe. It was posted yesterday and made me laugh very much. What I love about your offering is that it is both personal and relevant. It deals with real people. My grandfather was a WWII veteran. He was an intelligent and sensitive person. He would have loved your film and found the "rockyisation" of an event which cost millions of lives distasteful to the extreme. Wars are not a game. They actually destroy people. You were on a budget, granted. But you were good, accurate and real. Please ignore the negativity (e.g. "The uniforms should have been hidden"). That is precisely what makes the richness of your film. You were aware that you were dealing with people who were not born soldiers and were just trying to help. Take pride, Zak, in being a sensitive human being. Again, well done!
Bitter life story of the father and his daughter 💔 😢 😔 😪... in the past world 🌎 war - 2...
lol rip
Excelente cortometraje.
I sure hope they make it to Switzerland.
No italian actors... Terrible accent...
Do you mean the dad? Salvator? Look him up (Sam Mancuso) he is literally Italian 😂
Truly inspiring!!!
Amazing! So proud of Scott & Kerry ❤❤
Bellissimo film. Bravo!
Natzi =Satan
My grandpa fought for Britain in WII he survived somehow but he isn’t here anymore ):
The highlight of this short film was the grace, warmth and expectant passion between Ernesto and Alexandra as they said their final farewells. You sensed how Alexandra was a good, loyal, homely farmer's daughter who had a life ahead of her as a wonderful mother. This illusion, however, was soon to be shattered by the arrival of a German Hauptman and two soldiers hunting for 2 escaped British soldiers. Ernesto and Marco had forgotten to hide their uniforms, which were discovered, and led to the cold, summary executions of the very kind farmer and his dearly beloved daughter, Alexandra.
#ZakJarvis - THIS is fantastic! FINE WORK...!
I hate quality movies like that
Amazing.
its so sad when they die
This is beautiful 🫡🥲
There would be way more blood from a shot to the head
where is the drama where is the filling of a human being ,where is the life in this short film , this is just empty of all You just put tow bands : Bad german , and the Inocent british soldiers of tobruk . And how the fuk are everyone ? Please make me feel something about the humans being of this short film . You dont need action you need a writer. This have so much potencial and i think you can really make somthing more human than this , you can do ti . YOU CAN FUKING DO IT Thanks for your hard work and money it was an interesting history.
That was fantastically done
Did they make it to Switzerland
Oh darn I hate movies like this and with that quality I’ve never gonna watch a movie like that ever again
You could've at least got a girl who could speak italian a little good, like the father.
The death of the Italian guy mad me emotional

I don't understand why a Wehrmacht soldier has an SS totenkopf on his cap or why an SS soldier wears a Wehrmacht uniform.
Je voudrais en parler en français
I can't imagine if it happening in real life ..😔
Back in the 1980s we went to Italy that was before the cellphone and we went to different restaurants and we could order most everything
People who speak Spanish let me know if you can understand Italian?? I don't speak Italian but I can understand every other word , Portuguese people can understand Spanish too it's funny how some languages can be very similar.
They're all latin based languages, The basis for each of the languages are essentially the same
My Father join into the Italian Partisan from Sept.1943 to April 1945 ,fighting Germans and Fascist .. A real Antifa .
odratno nazi sranja kreteni
i dont quite understand why you put a massive spoiler in the thumbnail. the moment the two arrived at the farmers house, i knew the guy was going to be killed for sheltering them.
The broken and stereotypical italian in films is just amazing 😂
Many brave and kind Italian families risked everything to aid and shelter allied fugitives whilst under German occupation. Now they are considered heroes. Many brave and kind Polish families risked their lives helping and hiding Jews during World War II and many in fact paid with their lives for doing so. Now they are considered antisemites and some of descendants of those whose lives they saved claim that Poles killed more Jews than Germans.
the not italian actors for the italian contadini are embarassing... they speak so bad. the german soldier speaks better italian than them
ma l audio in italiano
