Sideline always gets to cheese me when I'm geras. He can't counter poke her long ass d4. And my only option in that lock down without meter is to microbackdash perfectly and catch her d4 with a b12. It's really annoying.

I think the only thing good about it is the fact that you can avoid jax ground pound set-ups( I don't think you'll disagree with me on the take that ground pound shouldn't work the way it works either way. What incentive do you have to not just delayed wake up every single time. If your opponent goes for a mix up and whiffs you get a free punish. If you just delay wake up every time you get more time to plan what you'll do on wake-up. It takes no resources and the game promotes you just abuse it every time. Sorry but I just don't find that mechanic providing any value for the game. I think instead of that they should've given us a universal pushblock mechanic They also should've put hard knockdown situations in the game where you can't delay wake up as a whole

@@its_Criminal1 Delay wakeup is a mechanic in EVERY fighting game since the beginning. You're right, delay wakeup is used to throw off meaty/mix-ups timings. If you opponent is constantly doing delay wakeup then you need to make the read. Its honestly a skill issue but you want to just remove it from the game. Maybe blocking too?? lmao

@ManNamedDare agreed but in every game it's also given some drawbacks pr mechanics that counter it to make it more balanced. In almost every game with delayed wake ups you've got hard knockdowns that deny the option to delay your wake-up. That's how you make it so it's not just the way you wake-up every time. You also see much more consistent restands to deny wake up options which aren't common in mk1 at all. Also OTG are almost nonexistent In this game there's absolutely no reason to not delay wake-up every single time. A few reasons why: 1. So many characters in this game have unnecessarily massive windows for a whiff punish meaning you can get punished for making the wrong read while you're the aggressor. 2. This game also has insanely overpowered wake up options with armor being busted due to kameos meaning you need to make two reads just to play offense at any given moment. And keep in mind some armor like smoke is barely even punishable as a whole. It's a mind game by itself. Add a kameo to the equation and you never need to hold the mix. 3. Pokes are busted in this game. Many characters don't even have good mids so you can get spammed on wake-up very easily cause pokes will beat every mid that is slower than 13 frames. I think delayed wake up in a game like this is just way too powerful and also unnecessary The amount of options you can use to disrespect in this game are insane For the love of god you've got Havik who has a free get out of jail card at all times. You really think he needs delayed wake up too?

@@drluigi8563 he doesn't suck but he has some flaws that are massive in this game. Not having a D1 is the equivalent of playing the game with one hand. It's actually impossible

@ his combos are good and he has mix up options but if he’s in the corner against a character with good frame data it’s honestly a struggle without wasting a bar. His only other “fast” move is f1 which is okay but it has no range and it’s not even that fast and you’ll just get smacked out of it

There is. They're just stupid. They just need to make it so moves will combo when frame data allows for it but they code it specifically so some moves go against frame data to make them not combo. For example doing a string into an ambush into another string will drop even if frame data technically allows it. Just remove that bs limitation and then these infinite combos are gone. Sindel had one in the past that worked in the exact same way and the fixed it

If they at least made legit hard knockdowns that make it impossible to delay wake up it would've been fine but they just made it a must use every time you wake up

@jacktheripper5112 it is weird sometimes but I don't really run into issues with its tracking all that much. Anyways I don't think the move is really intended to be used in neutral all that much so as long at it works in combos it's ok I guess

Basically you need to summon the Mavado first and then instantly input the DB4 You must do it as fast as possible cause there's a small window to input the DB4. If you have input timing set to long in the settings your inputs will register when you do them in advance, which makes the DB4 link much easier. So if it's not on long for you I recommend switching the setting the make it easier

@ is there any other trick to it? I’ve been trying the timing in the lab for like an hour now and half and just can’t seem to get it to connect.

​ I really just finish the 222 string and then do mavado instantly into DB4. One thing you could do is try it first with Janet. It's an easier version that could help you get the hang of the timing ​@@tonywilson4416

@tonywilson4416 yeah it takes a bit to get used to. It's not an easy link so good job man. Try to get consistent with it it's a great way to add damage to your combos, especially now that the morons removed the knife cancels
