1. Case design is not the same as single subject experimental design. This is an important distinction! 2. Lines should not be connected across phases.
I think you are misunderstanding what I said. I used the term single case design not case study or case design. Single case design is the same as single subject design, it’s just an updated way of phrasing. Case studies are different and usually qualitative whereas single case designs use mostly quantitative methods to evaluate how treatments affect clients. As far as connecting lines I’ve seen it both ways.

Super helpful, thank you!
thank you so much

Domain Expansion: Ethical Research Method of Infinite Praxis
you're a life saver
You even provide all the credits at the end, with a useful full length video 🎉
Thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful :)
would like to share with my students
Of course! I'm glad you think it would help them!
Shares very useful insights
Thank you!
Thanks a lot for your lovely explanation, I have a question, as the natural process occurs during treatments, there may be a difference in outcomes (posttest) in both groups, so it is feasible to compare the differences between both groups after intervention ?
Yes, there could be alternative explanations for the outcomes observed. These are called threats to internal validity, and I made a video about them as well :).
I loveeee your explanations!!!!!!
Thank you so much :)!
Thank you so much you make this so much easier !!!!
I am an MSW student. My undergraduate degree was not in social work. I haven't been in school in a really long time. The research class I was in was killing me. These lectures are a lifesaver! I do have a question though, can you explain an ordinary least square? I looked up the definition and have no idea what it means! Ordinary Least Squares regression (OLS) is a common technique for estimating coefficients of linear regression equations which describe the relationship between one or more independent quantitative variables and a dependent variable (simple or multiple linear regression).
Thank you so much for such a systematic clearification
I'm so happy you found it useful!
I really appreciate you making these. I'm currently taking my SW Research Class right now, and this video's cleared up some of the more messier thoughts in my head. Thanks!
I am so glad that it was helpful to you!
So what the importance of research to social work with examples?
Instead of starting with what we don't need to study first, I wish you'd have started with that what we do. While attempting to take notes, it proved to be misleading and confusing.
I am sorry that it was confusing.
Dr. B. you are a lifesaver! I'm learning so much more from your videos than I'm learning in actual class. Your approach and examples are so helpful!! :) Thank You!!
I am so glad that you found the video helpful :)
thanks so much ❤❤
You're welcome :)
I love watching your videos, Dr. B!
Thank you Valerie!
Thank you for taking the time to make these helpful videos. Thank you for making them public! ✌🏼😊🤍
Hi Valerie! Hope all is well! You are welcome. Thank you for the kind words :)..
Hi, could I ask, if a study involves letting participant watch a video of a well dressed person, and a second video of a causally dressed person, and getting them to select which person they find more trustworthy. If the hypothesis is that people would find the well dressed person more trustworthy, Would this entire study be considered an experimental study?
Hi Aaron, it depends on the design that is chosen to answer that question of whether clothes make a difference in trustworthiness ratings. Oftentimes people will refer to what you wrote as an experiment but it really depends on whether or not the people in the study are randomly assigned to at least two groups. In this case, to make it an experiment, there would be two groups (randomly assigned) and one group would see the well-dressed person and the other would see the casually dressed person. Alternatively, there could be two groups (randomly assigned), where both groups see the two videos but maybe in a different order. I hope this helped :)!
Amazing lecture....Thank you very much🥰
You're very welcome and thank you for the kind words :).
Well explained I love it
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad it was helpful.

Which book is this information based out of?
Hello, the book we use for the Master of Social Work program that I created these videos for is the following: Applied Social Research: A Tool for the Human Services 9th Edition by Duane R. Monette, Thomas J. Sullivan, Cornell R. DeJong. But the information I used for these videos come from different sources including my own knowledge of research methodology that I was trained in :). Whenever information comes from a particular source, I will cite it on the slide or if it is the textbook, then I will refer to it as "your text" or "the text." Thank you for asking this important question!
Great Job. Thank you
You're very welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the kind words!
Great Explanation so far. Thanks

Thank you for the kind words.
Thank you Professor! I enjoy your videos. Keep em coming :)
Great video and great presenter
Aww, thank you :)
Can I please ask what one can do with masters in social work research? Does it limit you to research only? Please help
Dear Mihle, I'm sorry that I did not see this comment sooner. A master's in social work is a great degree because it gives you so many options for a career. There is medical social work, for example, where you work in hospital settings. Forensic social work is work in the criminal justice system. You can be a therapist or you can be a community organizer. You can also be a policy analyst. There are a lot of options and I encourage you to look up schools of social work in your area. Oftentimes they will list the types of careers there :).
Hello!!! Doctor Hot and Sweet, I want to ask please are You Married? because I am In Love with after I listened to this Amazing presentation. You have opened my mind to a lot of things through your presentation like concept, variable, and many other things. I really loved the way You Laugh, the Laughing most time brought out the beauty in Your presentation at least for me. Please! reply to my above Question. And how old are You? I will Love to take U on a date. U r the BEST!!!
Om pure love 💓
Aww, thank you :)

You're excellent 👏
Thank you. I'm glad you found the video helpful :).
Super helpful, thank you!
You're welcome. I'm glad you found the video helpful :).
Awesome video, thanks. Is there a video for external validity of pre-experimental, experimental, and quasi-experimental designs as well?
Thank you. External validity is about the sampling process so you might find this video useful :) ua-cam.com/video/2epx1-BIaBI/v-deo.html
Your explanation under beneficence is all about nonmaleficence not beneficence.
Thank you for your comment. My video is based on The Belmont Report and this is what is covered under the principle of Beneficence.
Thank you so much for this video. It is really helpful. I am figuring out which design to go with and this really help me to set on which one should I opt for. Very clear explanation Dr. Thank you.
I'm so glad it was helpful to you!
Number of times you pray
Correct! Good job!
It's really helpful 🙏
I'm so glad!
