So like for hair products, with higher maintenance hair should we bring our own? because i heard the store there won’t have many options for higher maintenance hair. J saw someone say u can bring unscented hair products (does that even exist like💀)
That looks so damn good!
Do NCOs share a room?
going to Baumholder soon, are there any new barracks? Ive heard the base and everything on it is real old
@@balthasar7282 I can assure you that absolutely nothing will be new 😂😭
@@justalaysia haha damn 😅a lot of videos people share rooms but seeing that you have your own private living area is pretty cool. Is that common for new people? Im signal but idk what unit ill be with yet
@@balthasar7282 you kinda just get what’s available, with E4 and above getting priority for single rooms. The NCO barracks of course have the larger rooms. going to 44th?
@@justalaysiado NCOs share a room ?
can i bring a black drawstring bag?
Yes
such a good video, short and concise. would a black drawstring bag be allowed?
So nice ❤
Do you regret joining?
The barracks don’t look that bad. I know some of my friends who plan to enlist in the future. I’ll share this information with them.
Regarding money, should you bring a credit card or cash? If cash, how much please?
Think of it this way. This is a process designed to help anyone succeed. They will provide you with everything you need from the time you get there. At the hotel they feed you. While traveling through the airport to basic training they provide a food voucher for you to eat at the airport. When you get to reception they issue all your uniforms and gear, and they give you money on a card to buy personal items from the store. If you come in with NO money and nothing but the clothes on your back, you will be just fine. If you decide to bring cash $20 is fine. I did not come with cash, but I did bring the debit card that my paycheck was going to.
Some videos said bring two of your own locks. Is this recommended?
I had my own locks and they still made me buy a pack when I got there. I would wait until you get there because everything you need is provided or sold there.
Thank You.
You have nice barracks appreciate it as much as you can!!
She spent some good money. Great job
Are we able to pack a Bible?
Yes. The smaller the better though. I was also given one there.
Oh my God
Damn 😢
Do all enlisted soldiers get a pvt bedroom i
No. Lower ranking soldiers will usually share until they are given a single room.
@@justalaysia I start off as a e3 will I be given my own room I'm a 13j btw
@@renolddurosel6524 when you get to your first duty station your unit will decide your housing situation. If there are no single rooms available you will share. When one becomes available the unit will decide who gets it. Sometimes it goes to the highest ranking soldier and sometimes it goes to the soldier that’s been waiting the longest. There’s no way for me to predict that for you unfortunately.
Honestly i think i need to gone head and sign up for the military. I’m 26 and just seeing my life going off the rails with how I’ve been in and out of college for 7 years and it’s been of my biggest regrets going to college. It set me back financially bad and honestly I’m starting to think the military gone be the only option that can springboard my life back to where i wanna be in the future. I’m gone have to leave everything Fr now. Thanks for this.
What should i bring to ait, im coming from the marines and will be heading to ait
That’s literally what the video is about 😂😂
@@justalaysia bruh I'm dumb 😭
Since you are prior service you will most likely be in the barracks with MOS-T soldiers (other prior service or soldiers changing their MOS), not IET soldiers (soldiers fresh out of basic). If this is the case you will be treated as permanent party. If you're MOS-T you will not deal with any "phase ups" and you wont have to deal with drill sergeants. Since you graduated Marine Bootcamp, you will not go to army basic and you'll be issued your uniforms at in processing when you get to your AIT location.
Hey, can we bring our own hair products, lotion? And etc?
Yes
Will they let you keep ur running shoes ? If they are in good condition?
You will lock up all your civilian clothes. They’ll give you running shoes.
No offense, this is a genuine question, but why is it always POC who are making these barracks room tours on UA-cam.
I don’t know why it matters who makes them but I think that’s just your personal experience. It is not my reality.
I have a question was there someone that was shorter than 4’10
No
@@justalaysia i am 4’9 do you think i would have to sign a waiver
If i did 4 years of jrotc in high school would i be a higher rank if i go in the army?
@@Melanie..10_123 you would have to talk to a recruiter but I think that would make you an E3
Everyone keeps telling me different things. One person tells me to bring the essentials with me so I'm not wasting money at the shop. You're saying to not do that and just buy everything at the shop. Another person tells me they will confiscate your stuff and make you buy it regardless. Another says I can bring my glasses and contacts but then someone else says no, they will give you BCT-issues glasses. I'm so confused. No two people ever say the same thing.
You won’t be wasting money if you buy everything at the shops because they will give you a card with money on it to use at the store and if you don’t use all the money on the card you basically lose it because the card won’t work anywhere else. Anything they take from you you’ll get back when you graduate. You can bring your glasses and contacts with you to have when you leave but they will make you wear Army issued glasses in basic. I also was not allowed to wear my contacts.
same
the prt part is whats killing me lol. that and memorizing the nco creed. Hopefully i can manage to learn everything before i go to the school. im national guard so i wonder if anything is different or not.
I’m not sure if NG has a board for promotions or not but regardless you should know the creed before going. Other than that BLC is the same as AD. PRT is all about repetition. If you didn’t learn it in basic/AIT now is a good time to start reviewing. All the official PRT videos are on UA-cam.
Where will we fit the stuff that they issue us at basic? Will they give us another bag/duffel or do we have to fit it in our original bag that we came with?
You’ll get duffle bags and you’ll have a locker next to your bed to lock everything up.
Are you a DS or an officer?
Since you have to bring everything they issued you from basic with you to AIT, do they need you to dump the two fully packed duffels when you arrived at your ait?
I didn’t at mine.
Do you need to take the cold weather jackets and waffles etc.? And the AGSU? To AIT?
You’ll take everything they issue you in basic.
Can I bring a Laptop to basic training and AIT?
You can an have them in AIT but you can’t have them in basic so it might be best to have someone bring it to your basic training graduation or have them mail it when you get to AIT.
How Much Is That Per Gallon
Hopefully I meet you one day lol I'm going into the army
Good luck to you on your journey!
this was an amazing video. very clear, straight to the point, and organized.
Thank you!
Is this course even worth studying for beforehand? As long as you have half a brain you’re good?
You don’t really need to study in advance, but if you don’t already know all of the PT verbiage or know how to march a formation then you can do some research/practicing before hand.
I would just study the acronyms for PRT and for DNC it’s an easy 100 if you call all your cadence on the correct foot. Consist of 2 rear march’s column left/right & the column half left/right both flanks. Really the only things you could study for now the rest is how you do in class. Public speaking, CIT and 2 essays just finished BLC last month @rileyfreeman7122
What happens to my wallet when I get to basic training
You can hold onto it. Your sleeping area will have wall lockers to lock up your belongings.
Can I bring a hair cream and gel?
Yea just keep it in the original packaging. Don’t transfer to travel sized bottles or anything like that.
What’s your job in the army?
25N
Are you enlisted or Officer?
This is an enlisted barracks room. Officers do not live in the barracks.
@@justalaysia which is why you should be an officer if possible if you aren't married. Also why if you're not married and enlisted, you should probably take joining the Air Force more seriously because with them you're guaranteed to be out of the barracks by E4 or in some cases even E3, vs the Army where in SOME cases you MIGHT be allowed to move out the barracks at E5 if you're lucky but you realy aren't guaranteed to be allowed to move out until E6.
But will they actually force you to throw out everything you brought with you? Or is it entirely dependent on your drill sergeants? I've seen different answers to this and I'm not sure what to believe. Great video btw, and thank you for your service!!
Thank you so much! They don’t make you throw away anything unless it’s something you just shouldn’t have at all like lighters, pocket knifes, condoms (yes someone from my basic actually brought those). But if it’s something they just don’t want you to have during basic like a smart watch, contacts, jewelry, or medication they just lock it up for you until you graduate.
@@justalaysialike contacts for you to see?

COMPLETELY unrealistic…an absolute cartoon of actual barracks living quarters
Can’t be that unrealistic if this is my actual barracks room.
@@justalaysia is this for officers or enlisted? i'm thinking of enlisting in january
@@briandillon4305 this is an enlisted room. Officers don’t live in the barracks.
What’s with the huge barracks room? What base are you at? I don’t even think you’re an nco because you said you have to share a bathroom. My old barracks room was like 3/4 of that room
Feel that😢
You’re kinda hot😍, I’m shipping to ft Jackson for basic? I wish we could link up lol
What's with tiktok people throating their mics?
I love your video I’m to young to join but consider it a path to pay for college and learn some valuable lessons, I’m just drilling in what I know I’ll need to be ready for when I do go, I’m just wondering though what’s the likelihood of someone who is very sensitive and an absolute shy introvert actually succeeding through basic
A lot of people are shy, it’s okay. They may volunteer you for things a lot to try to get you out of your shell but I wouldn’t worry about it. But if college is your main goal I would consider ROTC. You can apply for an ROTC scholarship while you’re still in high school and just go straight to college, no boot camp.
@@justalaysia Thankyou for the advice! I thought about the military BEFORE I ever thought about college and I also need an extra 4 years to know what I want! So that’s mainly why I’d go through boot, But I’m glad I’m not going to get hazed or something 24/7 just cause I’m shy
