😊I'm re-watching the tree you made in the creative club. I have those cards - I think I bought them because of this painting lol A question with the liquid acrylic paints, are they watered down acrylic paints? Basic question I know, but I have had little sleep so I am really working hard on making sense of much right now. I have that set of cards you made to finish up. I have the front done, and the back now needs a light coats of a colour or two then to go back and work out what you did after that to make the cards 😀 I am working on 'less perfection, more enjoyment' in anything I create that is visual.

@@silverpromidi Not exactly, they are highly pigmented paints with a binder that makes them more liquid than others. You can, however, water down just about any paint to achieve similar results, but you will lose quite a bit of vibrancy doing so. Still, it works in a pinch, I do this all the time too and it's a great way to let go of perfection.

@@silverpromidi No, inks are not the same thing as acrylics and they can behave very differently when layering (inks tend to bleed through layers placed on top, which is fun if that's what you expect them to do). Pouring and high-flow acrylics are different as well. Your best bet for quality is Golden Fluid Acrylics, but they are pricy so I really can't recommend them for something like art journaling but I use them for other mixed-media projects. I recently bought some Liquitex BASICS Acrylic Fluid Paint but wasn't impressed. There used to be a couple of other brands of Fluid Acrylics sold at Micheals and JoAnns, but I can't find them anymore. I did find a MEEDEN Fluid Acrylic Paint on Amazon that is super affordable but that makes be question the quality, but for the price I think they might be worth trying out. Do expect these paints to be very translucent, they won't cover up like craft acrylics do, great so glazing.

Thank you, I've been journal writing since I was 10, but when I switched to visual journaling 9 years ago I found that I could go much much deeper. Much of what I do is on a subconscious level, it's only after I watch myself, as I edit these videos, that I see what I'm doing. As for the paper bag video, I don't think I have one, but I found a whole bunch of them by searching for "art journal from paper grocery bag" on UA-cam. I was so sure you had a video on that and when I looked through them I was scratching my head lol I'll look into that one later today, thank you. Long time journaling, I started consistently in 2019 - October if memory serves me well - and most days I manage to put in an 'art page' as well. Not heavy depth, but something 😊

I made my first set of cards! They are addicting!

I was using liquid acrylics for the paints, thinned with Matte Medium. I used Indian Yellow, Green Gold, Cadmium Red Hue, and Pyrrole Orange (the first two are my favorites). You could also use watered down inexpensive craft or acrylic tube paints. But don't use a gloss finish or your cards will get sticky. Thanks for watching!

I may need to start using up paints lol this project is 'do-able' now to do it. I have just finished making my first Primitive Doll, she was interesting and I have learnt a lot in that process one lesson being to put on gloves when using spray oxide inks 😂 I have this book in my wish list and yes! Amazon Prime membership is so worth it just on shipping alone. I need to go check on what mediums I have, I think they are matt. Thanks for that tip.

Thank you! I am using Hammermill premium color copy paper. It is 32 pound. I love it because it’s got a really nice smooth finish on it. It’s a little heavier weight and it doesn’t tend to get stuck behind on the gel plate. Happy creating and thanks for watching
