Inside Drain Pipe, Windansea Beach, La Jolla
This is the view from the water run-off Drain Pipe down at Windansea Beach in La Jolla, California. In my younger years we use to ride our Flexies down this pipe when the surf was flat. There is a larger Drain Pipe over at Horseshoe which we would enter on Cabrillo Street by pulling up the grating and going down the steel ladder. Usually there were six or seven of us, and we would move easily under the streets of La Jolla, peering up at the light when we went under street curb gratings. Back then, the Horseshoe Pipe came out in an open water filled ditch between Ravina Street and Prospect Street. We would have to wade through ankle high water to rejoin the Pipe to make it down to the beach.

Howdy brother yeah I was there back in the mid seventies I live right above the slides my brothers used to skate at charcoal bowl we were we were from Laguna so la Jolla was just like home I totally get it Southern California is over run protect what's yours the Citrus is gone the avocados are on the way out but I remember it classic la Jolla brother oh man I wonder where all my old buddies are at now over and out . . I got to do Bird Rock p.b. point and North la Jolla I was real lucky

Now here I am 2500 miles away from San Diego sitting alone in my room staring at my monitor, all I can do is reminiscing my time in San Diego, including the one time I just sat at the exact same spot and cried while listening to music. It would be really nice if I could just get in my car right now, drive to the beach and watch the sunset. Pretty sure this whole covid isolation has gotten me more lonely than usual as I forgot what it feels like to socialize with someone face to face. It would be really nice if I could see my friends again, it has been a while.
Why title it "Windansea 1979" when it's not Windansea?
