I was on TRL back then and I introduced a Korn video while I was cutting school. Turns out my father was randomly flipping through the channels to find something to watch after work that day. While channel surfing he just so happened to click on MTV during TRL right at the moment I was on TRL introducing the Korn video. The odds are like one a million or something ridiculous like that as we had satellite tv back then with hundreds of tv channels and I was TRL for no more than 15 or 30 seconds. I remember coming home all happy that day completely unaware of what was now waiting for me at home lol Looking back I would given anything to have seen the look on both of my parents faces from mindlessly channel surfing to the moment they realized that was there son on tv.... Which meant he cut school. I’m sure there mouths hit the floor in amazement for a split second before the anger kicked in.

I remember this, 20inch curved screen, one speaker max volume, had to turn the remote back over after my 5 minutes of tv time. Shit wss a lot different not having everything anytime whenever for free (basically) off the internet. You might read about a band and think they sounded cool and not have a opportunity for 2 or 3 years to hear them, if it was rarer stuff. But then you commit a piece of yourself to that when you found those treasures that had the right combination that reflected you at the time, just right...I know I know...old people... next I'll probably complain about holding phones up at a badass show instead of your horns 🤘🏼 lol... ...for real. Put your phone up. Immerse yourself fully

I have a ton of respect for Fred Durst & Limp Bizkit, they knew what they wanted & did what was necessary to make their dreams a reality. Their music certainly wasn’t high art or anything musically complex, but it was fun & heavy! A true party band. I think what put a lot of people off on Fred Durst was how he embraced & openly sought fame. In the early part of the 90s, Kurt Cobain & Eddie Vedder openly rejected fame, with the latter specifically going out of his way to make himself less famous. LB always did it their own way, I gotta respect that

They remind me a lot of Rage Against the Machine in style, base-centric songs, the talk-rap vibe. I've never unironically listened to Limp Bizkit, but I have to say I kind of like it. Fred Durst doesn't deserve the strangely bad reputation he has. You either really like Limp Bizkit or you don't. I can see why people don't, for sure.

I may be older now but thank God I was a teenager at this time . I wouldn't change it for the world . This was literally the last great time for music and pop culture in general
