It’s currently sub freezing temps and snow on the ground here in central Minnesota, so I’m looking back at some recorded rides from this summer to help me get through the cold times. If you’re in an area like me with no riding in the winter, hopefully this will help you too. Thanks for watching and I look forward to a spring ride!

    KLR is an awesome bike. I'm on my third one. Had a 2012 that had 60k miles on the engine and still ran fine when I sold it, then had a 2018 that I rode for 30k trouble free miles before making the mistake of swapping it for a DRZ400, and then about 6 hours ago I traded the DRZ in for a 2024 KLR

    Looking to pick a 24 KLR Adventure up this coming week and all the videos Ive watched a lot were saying its such a heavy bike so I looked up the specs and it was only 452lbs and didnt think that was a very heavy bike. Ive owned dirt bikes as a kid, a crotch rocket, 1300 V Star and a 18 Harley Road Guide Special (now that was a heavy and top heavy bike!) and always wanted a dual sport so I might just pull the trigger. My Wife is gonna be pissed!! lol but on a side note, my daily driver is a 22 F450 and diesel around my area is 4.50+/gallon and she gets about 13mpg if I drive it 5 under any speed limit these KLR's are supposed to get 55mpg or so. Glad your enjoying it!

      With the bikes you've had you'll think the KLR is light and nimble, and mine has always gotten around 53-57 MPG. You'll love it and they are so much fun!! Not the fastest bike, but one of the funnest!

    Just bought my ex-boss' 2003 Vulcan Nomad 1500 FI in spring of 2023. 7597 miles on the clock. I'm up to 12k miles and loving the ease of maintenance so far, comfortable ride, decent handling, great stock seat. I added a batwing fairing and a different passenger sissy bar. Great hard bags with the Nomad package, front and rear floorboards, nice highway bar and other touches. Hope to ride it for many years.

    I have some ADV bike recommendations... a 650 vstrom, a tenere 700, or a 750 transalp. Vstrom will be the cheapest. They have the Japanese reliability and are great bikes for the road less traveled. I have the nomad 1600 as well, but serious 2up rides we take the goldwing. I also have a 300L to learn off-road, which is making me better on my 650 vstrom off-road. I hope this helped and enjoy the ride... whatever the bike.

      @moreonwandering2984 5 місяців тому

      I would first suggest going to as many dealers or similar where you can sit on as many bikes as possible. Cruisers and standard bikes are a great place to start, they are usually easy to ride and have enough power to ride comfortably on most roads. If you put you feet on the pegs and feel cramped it may not be good on a long ride.

    I have a Street Glide and a 2022 KLR. The KLR is the most comfortable. The stock tires are not good off road, even on gravel. Don't worry I only got 1400 miles out of the stock rear. I plan to tour the KLR over the SG. Much more room to move around and you can take the gravel when you like. 😅
