I had 9600 pro and my friend had 6600 gt, i was so jealous that he was able to play F.E.A.R in highest settings xD performance difference was huge. This game was sick, btw my cpu was athlon 2000+ xp and i had 768MB of ram

I'd say it's worth it as long as you apply the SilentPatch fix, which is absolutely essential on PC - it fixes a mind-blowing amount of bugs and features that were either always broken, or were broken after porting the game from PS2 to PC. Even one of the main developers of GTA:SA (Obbe Vermeij) has endorsed using it on his Twitter, for getting the truly "definitive" experience.

You should have told something about the infamous flying school. I couldn't beat it many years ago and so the game 😥. I thought about buying gamepad especially for this game, but I finally didn't. And I also remember the (maybe second infamous?) "all you had to do was to follow the (...) train, CJ", but I finally passed it.

Nvidia 900 series is the newest gpu. I had a 980Ti and an i5 2500k with 8GB of 1866 DDR3 😂 I made it pre pandemic and it's still in storage. The XP is the perfect sweet spot. I ended up using a 750ti and going with a smaller PSU. A 980ti will run elden ring lol

Nah don't get it wrong. I had the Geforce 6800 from MSI back in the day. I bought the MSI because she was on top of all the charts with performance. Back than MSI was King. I bought the 6800 because you could unlock it from 12 lanes to 16 and basically turn it into the much more expensive 6800 GT/Ultra. It's like buying a 4070 today and unlock it via Software to turn it into a 4090. Great Card.

I`m using 9600 XT 256MB HIS version to be exact and it really is the best card i`ve tried so far for my Tualatin 1.4 Pentium 3 retro gaming project. I must say i`m amazed how it works with omega drivers. Of course the CPU bottleneck the card a lot, but still speed of the card really helps along with lots of options unabled to customize the games like no other previous model i`ve tried so far. Asus ATI 9250 256mb that i used previously was not bad, but it cant pull highes resolutions well. With 9600 XT i can play Wizardry 8 (one of my favorite games of all times) on literally 1920x1080 on big 40inch TV screen and look marvelous and works with 30fps in battle combats.

It's 2024 and I needed a cheap Universal AGP card, and I bought one of these for £8.99 including postage. I hope I haven't spent too much.
