Damaged Apple iMac 27 A1312 | Salvaging Apple Parts | Broken iMac | E-Waste Recycling | Aram Joseph
In this video, I teardown a damaged 27" Apple iMac A1312 and salvage the logic board as well as the remaining apple parts.
As you guys saw in the video, this unit was dropped off at my recycling center as e-waste due to the damaged and unusable condition it was in. In situations such as this, the first thing I do is test the unit to see what its status is; that way I know ahead of time what works and what to look out for. As such, I found that this 27" Apple iMac a1312 was in good working order aside from the cracked glass and heavily damaged frame. Accordingly, I after testing the Apple iMac, I began the process of disassembling this damaged Apple computer.
As conveyed at the end of the video, I found that this Late 2009 A1312 Apple iMac contained an 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU Processor along with 12GB DDR3 RAM, 1 TB SSD as well as other misc apple parts! As such, I go ahead as seen in this video and disassemble, take part and clean all the individual parts that make up the Apple iMac.
In the end, I was able to salvage the following items;
- Apple iMac 27" A1312 Logic Board (820-2507-A)
- Intel 3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo
- 8GB PC3-10600S RAM (2Rx8)
- 4GB PC3-8500S RAM (2Rx8)
- 1TB Samsung 2.5 SSD
- Webcam (593-1027-A)
- SD Card Reader 593-1041-A
- Audio/Mic Input (593-1087-B)
- Wi-Fi Card (820-2566-A)
- Wi-Fi Ribbon (593-1104-B)
- Wi-Fi Antenna (593-1035-B)
- CPU Heatsink (730-0567-A)
- GPU Heatsink (730-0572)
- Power Cable (593-1043-B)
- Sata Cable (593-1038-A)
- CD Drive (6787-0586-A)
- Fans (610-0035, 610-0064, 610-0041)
- Power Supply (PA-2311-02A)
- Speakers (922-9153, 922-9154)
- Backlight Inverter (V267-601)
- IR Board (820-2540-A)

Who will buy them and where you get those?
You are not stripping the electrics down and recycling them? You are just reselling parts
SELL TO BOARDSORT!!!
Hi Aram! Im looking to start an E-waste recycling business in my area. I was wondering what kind of tips you have. Also what do you do with all the plastics and non valuable material just curious because I can’t imagine sorting through the plastic to see what’s recyclable or not. P.s I posted this before watching the video so I apologize if I’m asking questions that were answered in the video
DDR PC3 or PC3L
I am taking an environmental ethics class and stumbled on your video and channel. Awesome stuff!
Hey! I'm doing a pilot project to see if E waste business is for me, I love it tbh.
Is this a waste management company ?
As a kind of hobby I look for electronics in dumpsters and curbside stuff. Bummer is, where I live, tne property taxes went up, and so did the insurance. So I can't spend the extra $$ for parts to fix some things to try and resell them.
People buy broken systems. Tear it down and sell it per component.
@@cac0461 I have had some luck selling some things, but it's not steady. I prefer to sell whole systems, not just individual parts. Thank you
Hi what would be the best way to find the best refiners to sell your products to
I worked in one here in Brazil just like yours but it had 11 employees, and the actual team that do that job was like 5 people. One problem is the pickup service because the employees here had to work in 2 different jobs, the pickups and the scraping so it was really hard to conciliate that. And i started to go to college (here you work and study, it's very common), so i could not go to pick ups so i decided to leave because the others were looking to me as a privileged boy who could not do the hard work lol
I can't imagine how hard it must be to do the pickups in your country, because here we only worked in one state, and sometimes i would leave the company at 08:00 am and comeback 21:00 lol i hated that part of the job. But i was really talented and like it scraping, specially computers where i could dissamble like 120 in 9 hours of work or so. So sad they could not let me not go to pickups...
Anyways goodluck on your business and loves from brazil 🇧🇷♥️
Do you guys happened to have an AMD RYZEN 5 5800X3D CPU laying around on your warehouse? I’m looking for such CPU that has all the pins and that works

hi
Hi brother great to see how your work is there any possibility I can get your email address because we are buyers of used it equipment based in Dubai.
Good to see your business is doing well, looking forward to watching more videos to see how your business has grown over the last year. Good job my brother keep up and keep on.
But you can erase the hard drives and sell them
I like what you do. Saving pc from becoming ewaste is a good thing.
What kind of gloves are those
Keep on keepin' on. Much love.
No more videos? Looks like things didn't pan out
I’m really liking your videos, and I really wanna support to stop wasting technology
Si many funes
Wheres some new videos!
You got my sub for being real. Keeping on pushing bro!
Im looking for a motherboard on 27 imac a1419
Who do you sell to and what types of e-waste items do they buy?
Why would the old prepaid phones have value?
Could you provide an update on how your doing. Have you thought about just removing the platters from the hard drive and snipping them. You can then take the board off the back and sell them, plus you can recycle the aluminum case for cash as well. Plus capture the gold pins that they have. Just a thought.
Im glad this jude chanel is dead these days. 😢
Looks like all good stuff. :)
Hello, I need machines for school here in Brazil, refugee girls from Israel
What else can be made with parts from any computer from any point in computer history? Like frankinstiens!!! Experimental mods like robot wars, portable power supply, transform Mac into a giant laptop or any other cool gadget or even artwork.
How do you make any money with these old things? Is there really buyers for this? Enough for you to pay your rent?
Im curious. Do you verify if thus stuff is actually broken?
Hi are you alive now? Can you please make an update, good luck
great video Aram, do you need a permit to recycle? like a R2? or you can do small recycling without it
Aram, great video thanks for putting these out. Ive been in ewaste for quite some time now but where I am it is impossible to get licesned and zoning. When you first started did you operate your business under the radar so to speak or did you get all of your clients, website, insurance, and paperwork in order than launch your business?
Why does everyone on UA-cam have to make video wit the dumb fast forwarding that loud annoying music a minute or the whole video and especially when you are talking and skipping everything parts not just recording it and uploading it?
Hello, just curious. How do you receive your ewaste devices? Do you charge people for their devices?
Do you also receive devices from large companies or only residents?
6:42 That is the Anode Cap, it supplies a positive charge to the front of the tube to attract the electrons from the back, it can be removed with a flat head screwdriver and an alligator clip connected to the DAG ground in the top left corner screw, it doesn’t hold the vacuum in the tube
Excellent channel, I have enjoyed several videos so far...spot on! As the owner of a nationwide e-waste recycler, I can appreciate with first hand the experience the issues you are sharing with your viewers. For instance, we also struggled with pick-up service as well, mainly due to increasing costs in both labor and fuel. Driving 50 miles round trip for a pickup, pay a guy 4 hours wage, $40 in gas, wear and tear on box truck only to in the end grab a half dozen printers, some flat screen monitors and 4 Windows XP era machines has forced us to charge for pickups. $100 minimum, $2 per mile after the first 10 miles. As you mentioned on your phone call, there is always the free drop off option. We have a 24/7 dock for free electronics drop offs (no tube tvs!). When I come into work in the mornings there are often several computers, stereos and other odds and ends that will either be kept (for my growing personal collection), refurbished or recycled. .
"None the less" he says NONE THE LESS FAR TO MUCH !
More video content about the business plz 🙏🏾
Don't forget to replace the old leaky capacitors since they are leaking and they need to be replaced ASAP
