Did not seem like Lendl destroying Jimmy Connors. It was a close match. Lendl having the edge would be a more apt description😃
Lendl was my fave player growing up. I think he was for many of the real fans but no one talked about it. Fantastic sense of humour too :)
The kind of biased umpiring Lendl had to put up is unbelievable. The Americans played as a team to ensure they gave Ivan a tough fight 😂
Jimmy connors was simply outplayed. The fact lendl had to 'bunt' the ball back says it all about him
And in next generation came another Serb to set very high and hard to reach as well, standard in Tennis 🇷🇸🎾
It's incredible how Mecir imposed incredible accelerations on the ball without loading the shot and hiding it until the end. All without grunting like an animal
Why for the love of jesus would anyone want to be a tennis umpire
Macenroe was a thug he should have been banned permanently from tennis definitely the biggest thug in the history of tennis
The one and only, John "You Cannot Be Serious" McEnroe!
When he went on a rant after you saw the footage MAC was usually right . The judge was a idiot .
Lendl got lot of easy points due to big serve. If Jimmy had a bigger service then he would have won more matches.
boris becker overrated,
Jimmy was playing with injured wrist, had he been injury free, he would have beaten Lendl.
Awesome play from Lendl. His dry response to the interview question was equally awesome 😊
McEnroe as hilarious as ever. Could listen to his co commentatory banter all day 😅
Tennis was so much more graceful back than it has to be said. Back when real men hit backhands with 1 arm, Not needing 2 like a little girl
totally agree!
What year? 86-87???
totally agree!
This was a great match, Cash was a great volleyer and he actually won the match but for a bad call.
totally agree!
Just goes to show that the whole argument re the old rackets. Yes off course they make a difference but it's the players too. The technique. Sampras serve. No way the old pros had a serve like that.
totally agree!
Connors = stupid.
Connors was an A but he made the game entertaining. He was the Pete Rose of tennis
totally agree!
Absolutely pitiful line calling in this match...some of the worst I've ever seen.
Yannick is an afro french = african born in france
Its amazing to hear all this hate for Gilberts game. That is the beauty of tennis it can be played so many ways. As a advance competitive player I had to learn to play pushers and junk ball players who always seem to beat one of the top players. Brad Gilbert reached No4 in career lets give this man some respect!!. You could not just play Brad and expect to win, you had to use a tremendous amount of concentration to beat him. Any lapse in your focus and you will loose the match. Brad tested your will and resolve and would let you beat yourself just ask Becker! Why do you think Agassi choose Brad as a coach because he truly understood the game and with Agassi´s groundstrokes and his understanding of tactics he became a more efficient player and started winning all his Grand Slams. Lendl most times that not was such a dialed in player that it took a lot to beat him the man had one of the highest winning percentages in tennis history! Once he took his game to the next level he hardly lost again to his main rivals at the time Conners, McEnroe, etc...
lendl always had macs number
This is pure GOLD , Andre so funny and sexy
Connors had a good career but he could be the biggest wanker that ever picked up a racket. As if you'd say that. Lendl's game was way more aggressive than yours. Don't be bitter because you lost captain America
Connors was a pillock
John looks like hes got a tea towel on his head 😂👳🏻
Lendl could play with today's raquets.
6:09 "Come on Jimmy, Lendl`s an old man". Wow.
career head to head was 16-0 for Lendl
lendl whooping mac nothing new here
Straight set victory over Tanner 7-5, 7-6, 6-3.
@v4v819. It would not be the least bit surprising if Agassi did spot Becker accidentally giving away the direction he was planning to hit a serve because Becker DID extend his tongue out of his mouth as he hit a serve! So Agassi was probably being truthful in revealing that observation to Becker when they went out to dinner after Becker had retired from the men's pro tennis tour!
Please, which match was this exactly, which year, which tournament?
Lendl could play well with today's raquets
That wooden racket… i remember… damn im old !
Lendl, one of the all-time greats. Lendl loved indoors because he tossed the ball up very high on his serve before hitting it as it came down. So, he didn't want wind blowing it off course.
Always tried to copy the Lendl strokes 👏🎾💪
Courts were so fast back then... most young people have no idea..
Met Pete in person , real genuine guy , it is said that Lendl invited Pete to stay and train at his home , circa 1990 , Pete accepted, “He almost killed me “, Pete had later quoted.
Yannick noah le roi parmi tous les rois!❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊
That umpire having a conversation with Jimmy. You should never do that.
Great intensity and great match with 2 différent styles. Yannick always played well at KB but he was tired at the end after 3 matches in 5 sets
Lendl could have played against today's players
Noah Jonah❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊
is mcenroe wearing a towel on his head ? lol
