How to get home if your car caliper is leaking badly.
My sons car had a badly leaking caliper, and was a few miles from home. I went to Harbor freight and purchased line clamps and was able to drive the car home instead of getting a tow truck. The car needs calipers, rotors pads and lines, so I didnt mind pinching the line even though the package said it wont damage the line.

Hi Steve , I got access to the actuator motor and removed the two screws and no other screws there but still the actuator I can't pull out and its moving but not coming out, I think if I pull hard I may break something plz suggest , if just the actuator teeth will break so doesn't matter as I will install the new one but if some arms break from inside system ? Plz suggest should I pull it hard as two screws are already removed ? Thanks.
It will come out, I had to stick a flathead behind it and pry it out. Good luck.
@@stevek3270 thanks I will try flatehead screwdriver to pull it out.
Thank you for this.. I can now stop buying MAF sensors. Happy New Year!
Right on brother man
Thanks for this tip. I have a drain just like that and I was facing the same issue. Mine was built in '86 and I had to recently drain it. I got the exact thing and used a 90° aluminum pipe wrench. It popped right off. Hit it with some penetrating oil and let it set before loosening. Great video, very helpful!! Thanks for sharing!!
I just seen another video where they say you should buy the new BLACK valves if you have an orange valve anyways.
Hi sir,i have this problem for lifan x60 AT 2017 in break blend door actuator. Can guide me?
You were instructed to leave a list of the tools you used!🤨😤
Question: At 1:55 you point to a small section of ductwork that obstructs access to the actuator. I can't figure out how this is removed. Can you explain how you did it?
It has been awhile, but if I remember correctly it is just some tabs around it that have to be bent up, use a hooked pick.
@@stevek3270 Thanks, the front tab seemed obvious but couldn't see or feel the back tab. Will try with a hooked pic

Dude, you are a lifesaver. I recently drained my inground, 25,000 gallon pool to clean it. Then I saw these fear-mongering videos from pool UA-camrs and about pools popping up from HSP and have been scrambling to find the right tool since the plug is tightly closed and I can’t get it with a normal wrench or channel lock. So I’ve been Running back and forth Lowe’s Home Depot Leslie’s Harbor Freight nothing. Then I saw your video and went back to Lowe’s. Got the piece you used, opened the plug in 2 seconds, and just as suspected there was ZERO hydrostatic pressure under my pool but at least I can sleep now. We did have heavy rains here in East Texas so I didn’t want tot take any chances because I cannot afford to replace my pool.
I am glad I could help.
What if the driver side is hot and the passenger side is cold?
Then you are probably low on refrigerant. If you have a gauge, check it out. If you are not too low, turning on the rear a/c will help. A $10 can from walmart should have you back to cool.
How do you take the white piece off that covers the actuator?
I had the same problem where one of the springs snapped. However it snapped only a few coils in and I managed to bend the larger left over bit and created a working spring that's just a bit narrower but works fine with plenty of spring. I've saved $50 on a new spring.
Since this video, I had to do the job again. They dont last long.
@stevek3270 well that sucks. And they're not cheap. A ripoff for a little spring.
They sell the tool just for that, it’s great, it has a wider edge so you can apply more force if need be and not damage the piece👍
That sounds good. I didnt want to buy more tools, and was on the very last row. It works fantastic, and absolutely no force was needed. Any damage that might have been done, (none was) would have been covered by the baseboard.
@@stevek3270 very nice 👍 keep it coming
Do you know the size of the bolts I’d need?
I am sorry, I do not.
Thanks so much for posting the video! I just did this on my GTX and having that torx size in advance really helped out.
Awesome, glad I could help.
Great detailed video! I’m about to help my cousin replace the mode selector servo on his 2010 RX350. Does it look like the mode selector servo can be replaced without pulling the dash? It looks like the mode selector is right above the temp servo shown in your video.
If the dash is like mine, you will not have to remove the dash. I would have been able to get it out of mine with the way I did this. With that being said, I do not know if the Lexus is set up like this. I would assume so, but cant be sure.
@@hangingatthegulf.3889 it looks very similar- if not the same.
Update: the Lexus RX350 is exactly the same, however, there is a cover that goes over the servos to hold them in place. Wish I could attach a pic. I got the screws out of the cover, but I’m afraid to break the cover if I pull too hard.
Update: I was able to swap the mode servo out on the Lexus. However, the new one isn’t working either. Air is still stuck on the face vents. I just replaced the AC amplifier and that didn’t fix it. Any suggestions on further troubleshooting? ALLDATA says to check that wiring harness to the servos. However, it’s difficult to check that harness because the plastic connectors that go to the servos have IC chips in them.
@@kelbymorgan Are you sure the servo isnt moving at all? If you can, connect it to the harness, but dont install it, then see if the servo actually moves. It could be fine, and be jammed up at the gears. Most of the problems I am seeing with these are the gears coming apart and jamming up.

If a leave a little water enough to cover the drain… do I still need to remove the drain plug? Am I still at risk of pool popping out?
I dont know enough about this to give you solid advise. I would hate to put your pool at risk with a good guess. You should probably ask a pool company/builder in your area. Sorry.
Are you doing this so the pool doesn’t pop out?
Yes. I live at sea level, and didnt want to take any chances.
Hello, your video was very informative. I live in Florida too. I'm about to start that project myself, I already removed the tiles and the grout. But I have an issue with water keep coming up through the drain. I think I might have a solution, first I can't seem to close off the drain enough there is always water coming. My idea is I'm putting a reducer in the drain from a 2" threaded side to a 2" slip joint so I can glue a 2 foot pipe. This should stop the small leak around the drain ( I can't get all the sand out from the treads so it leaks) it should stop the leak at the drain, and with the top uncapped the water should come up the pipe, that should relive the water pressure trapped below the pool. I can use a type of bilge pump that can suck the water coming from the pipe so it won't overflow!!! I'd like to know what people think about this??? If you can keep the bowl of the pool dry, then you won't have a difference of discoloration. About the hydraulic cement drying fast is in Florida the water is warm, so if the don't so much to do. But gallons of water in the REFRIGERATOR, that willslow down the drying time, I've done it before.
I like the fridge idea, but as far as the water from the drain, Its not that its trapped under the pool, its that I live at sea level, 30ft from the ocean. You might have an easier time if you are not right near the sea. The only way to slow it down was a plug. I was also concerned with the pool popping up due to the pressure under it.
That piece you broke. I used a pick to pry the top tab up and the bottom tab down while pulling on the piece gently. Then used a pick to pry the clip on the side over its peg and it just slipped off. Takes about 15 seconds.

Thank you Sir, my wife has a 2013 Nissan Juke with 114,000 miles on it, I had replaced the Mass Air Flow sensor last year dued to a P0101 code, and I noticed the the oil consumption is more that ever before with no leaks, so when research the issue, the PCV valve was apart of a possible problem, and I know for sure that it the original factory one. But after changing the MAF sensor last year with a OEM Nissan part, the code came back on recently. Looking at one of your comments, the person said by changing the PCV valve it clear his P0101 code, so I hope that the case for my wife's car. 👍🏽👍🏽
I hope so too. Please let me know if it works.

my heater doesn't work but cooling works fine. Would that be a bad blend door actuator?
Its possible, but it could also be the heater core, your thermostat, and some other things. Is yours also the dual climate that passenger and driver can pick their own temp? If so, check both sides.
Thank you Soo much!!! Fixed my P0101 issue on my 2013 Nissan Juke.

Do you have the part numbers for the motor replacements?
The one I ordered was GPD 1712382 from Rockauto. I did return it though since I didnt need it.
Having the same problem with mine. Gear is not aligned. I was thinking about cutting mine. Did you not cut yours?
What part are you talking about? The funnel was the only thing that was in the way, and I broke it, everything else just was taken apart, then put back together correctly, no cutting.
Thanks Steve having same issue with my 2013 highlander. Having trouble pulling whole assembly out though love to see how you re installed it
This has to be my issue as well was it hard to align them all up any tips
It was a little hard, you need patience. You have to look at the path of the nipples before connecting them. Make sure it makes sense. And after you have them lined up, try the a/c, heat, defroster and make sure it works before putting it all back together.
Good stuff sir! I have run into this as a mechanic many times. The usual cause is that the foam seal around the damper door gets wet and then freezes shut. Then the owner changes the temp control and the actuator twists the cam off the pins and or strips the gearset within the actuator.
That is a good theory, but this particular car is a garage kept car in central Florida. I think it just happened to jump a few teeth. Thank you for the insight.
Ok Ok Ok Ok just call you 😊❤😊😊
how long did this take you ..start to finish ?
About 10 days. One day to drain, then power wash, then acid wash, then tsp wash. That was about two days worth. Then a day to find all the hollow spots, and chip them out, and remove all the tile. Then a day to repair the hollow spots, and repair the bull nose. Another day to replace the tile, then a day to do one coat of sidercrete, a day (if I remember right) to let it set up, then another day to do final coat.
This guy's an idiot. Going around with an f'n screwdriver. WTF. Total amateur. And by the way, Cementall is not hydraulic cement like he says around 6:51.
Hey Steve I agree great video! Have a question about work time of the product. Did you have help doing this and once a batch is mixed how long was it workable? How much water was added to make it thinner? Thanks
Now that it has been a year and a half since I did it, I am not as sure about the amount of water I used, but I believe it was at least a quart, but could have been as much as a gallon. I just dont remember. I did have help. My son was rolling it while I was blading it. As we got closer to the end of the pale, I would take over the rolling, while he would start a new batch. Before we started using water, the batches were way too thick, and would start drying too fast. That made it very difficult to keep up. Once we started adding water, it made all the difference in the world. It was easier to go on, looked better, didnt dry too fast. I could have done it by myself with the water added.
Thanks Steve much appreciated!

can u help me ? my juke has oil on the tube of intake , changing this valve can be the solution ?
It is possible, but not the only possibility. When you're dealing with a turbocharged or supercharged engine, a small amount of oil in the air intake is usually considered normal. But an excessive accumulation of oil indicates a problem, such as faulty turbocharger/supercharger seals or an obstructed turbocharger return line.
I'm getting ready to order this for my pool. Are you still happy with it??? An what did you use for the hollow spots on bottom of pool???
So far I am happy with it. I think the blue looks great, my wife thinks it might be too bright. I used sider-cretes repair stuff for the bottom hollow spots, but when I ran out, I went to home depot and got the cement-all hydraulic cement that does the same thing. store.sider-crete.com/product-p/0929-50lb.htm
is it possible to blend the repair so its not visible?
For somebody a little more talented than me, yes. Its a little like matching drywall finish, it take practice.
Sooooo what happens when you use the T30 and the bolts spin, but don’t come out? I’ve never removed the step before and just had my 1st issue with the step not retracting. Any help is appreciated. This is happening on both sides with all 6 bolts.
If you go the other way, will they tighten?
I didnt have that problem, but if you can get a flat head screwdriver behind the screw head while spinning with the t30, then use leverage to push it out with the screwdriver while spinning. It might not be easy, but it is doable.
@@stevek3270 I tried going the other way and it doesn’t appear like they tighten either. Just continues to spin no matter what way I go.
