The Best Barefoot Sandal That You Haven't Heard Of / T-Rocket Barefoot Sandals - Initial Review

I am switching over to barefoot shoes! I have a pair of Vivobarefoot Hiking Boots that I wear occasionally but wanted to go all in now. This is my first pair of all terrain barefoot sandals and I love them. t-rockets.co.za/

    Rewatching videos after having some a couple years ago. My feet did sweat at time but man I loved these. Only issue was the front of the foot got caught on steps a few times and eventually ripped them where it connects to strap. But Xero took care of me. I miss them so gonna order another pair and be more careful with steps.

    Hi. Great video. Now that you have had both pairs for a while, which pair is your favorite? The Vegan X or the Yeti X distance? Would you mind listing your pros and cons of each please? Are the Yeti X distance too thick to be regarded a barefoot shoe?

      For me personally, the vegan X wins due to size and weight. The yetis are too heavy for me and I couldn’t find any terrain that the vegans couldn’t handle. They’re terrific. I’m sure there are people out there who appreciate a bit more padding that are considering bare footing. I’d say the yetis are too think to call barefoot just zero drop with nice toe splay.

    I've been looking for a nice high rise, affordable, shoe. I will buy the black version. Whitin has 2 versions of the high rise. Nice review.

    I love these! Had these for about 6 months and have done 500 miles in them. I cut off the back cups with a knife and they are even lighter now :)

    Damn I’m in America and would love to try these out! Problem with the toe thong style was I never had enough support side to side and these have really looked to solve that issues having the traditional sandal straps going across.

      I’ve worn these things so hard and you’ll get a little side to side but not too bad really since like you said, the sandal straps keep you in position for the most part. Only under extreme conditions do you slide a little. I wish they would come back to America with them as well. I’ve been wearing the xero z trek sandals for a few months as well and they’re great but would probably recommend the z trail over them if you’re doing any kind of running or tougher hikes!

    Whitin if you’re listening, if you just stitch the soul instead of glue, most people would happily pay the price difference which I assume cannot be that much. Barefoot shoes have a problem because the soles are so flexible and if you glue the soul, it will separate rather quickly for active users. Also, having a thicker soul isn’t a bad thing. Most people would be fine with a little more meat in the soul, as it would make it more durable and a bit more of a sturdy which I think there is a huge market for.

    Nice video! I think the Whitins offer a great value and a few models like this one actually look fairly decent. Not having to pay $200 like the Vibram barefoot shoes is a major bonus.

    How is the midfoot on the inside of the foot? It looks rather narrow. See that contour? I have Lems that look like that, and it feels like I am standing on hard plastic on the sides of my arches, it is awful. Can you feel that on the inside of the shoe? I know my Lems raise up and down, sharply, at that point.

    How’s the sizing? Should I go regular or half size down or up?

    • @thesolesearchers
      @thesolesearchers 6 місяців тому

      For me I ordered my standard size of 12 and it felt like a 13 until I laced them up and walked around in them. I’d go your standard size.

      I dont know about the hi tops but they were true to size in the low canvas. protip when ordering shoes is to know and use your EU size. Then check the manufacture sizing and buy based on your proper EU size. In Whitin and many more brands they don't make 1/2 sises so they list as 10-11 or 9-10. etc...again go with your EU size and basically ignore the American sizing. I wear 44 EU which is almost always a 10 1/2 but depending on make or model can somtimes be a 10 or 11. I would suggest looking at all your current shoes and figure that good ol' EU size.

    Are these conducive for grounding as well as running?

    • @thesolesearchers
      @thesolesearchers 6 місяців тому

      Great question, these sandals lack copper, silver, leather, and carbon so not going to be a grounding shoe. But they are really nice for trail running, camping and everyday wear.
