Years ago I bought dried elderberries and put them into my smoothie. I got violently ill about an hour later. Vomited several times...it was awful. It did not say anywhere on the label not to eat them raw. SO I learned the hard way. I was actually very angry. It should have said on the label to not eat them raw. Also, I read that you should leave the lid off when boiling as the toxic elements escape that way. Not sure if that's true.

This is great! I hate thinning carrots! We harvested about 200 carrots (small raised bed) this year (two plantings). How do you store your carrots over the winter? We just washed and put this last crop in mason jars with cold water, keeps them crisp.
