Appreciate your videos!! ❤❤
Some lovely stitching. You are still ahead of me with Fruits of Plenty, she's such a big girl, but I love it. Keep stitching
Is it terrible that I just want Fruit of Plenty to be done already? It's absolutely a gorgeous piece, but I'm ready to move on from my plethora of 2022 starts so it's definitely a focus piece
Hi, 👋 aren't you glad you are your own stitching police? You make your own rules. 👏👏👏. I love your Winter Queen. I was late to the party and she is the only one I have. I love your videos, and your stitching is gorgeous. Happy Stitching. ❤❤❤
I'm glad that there are no stitching police and the focus can be on what I'm getting out of my projects. My favorite part is deciding which mistakes will drive me crazy unless I fix them and which ones I leave where I know it's there but no one else can tell. Thank you so much for your kind words ❤
Winter Queen is looking so good!!
Thank you!! I love stitching on her so much and I can't wait to be done and have her on the wall!
🎃🦇🪡🧵🦇🎃
Hi. Fruit of Plenty looks amazing!! I have a question going to back to Autumn Queen… hopefully you will remember. On the chart, several of the colors have 2 symbols each. For example, 746 has triangle and also ‘>’. Do you know what this means? I’ve never had this on any of my other Mira’s. Thanks…. And happy fall🍁
The only thing I have ever come up with is to prevent mistakes when near similar symbols. Royal Holiday has one color with I think 3 symbols, and they seem to change based on what part of the pattern it is. It's weird, I don't like it but I handle it okay.
@@TheCraftyWhippet Thanks so much for the speedy reply! You are the expert😊
@@ljgrygo you are too kind. I will try to remember this question next time I work on Royal Holiday and hopefully I can on camera give a better response! The more I stitch, the more I realize how important the symbols are to an enjoyable project
You are doing great with the stockings, I am so impressed I so want to make everyone stockings but the thought of doing it is overwhelming. Have a great rest of September
I'm probably in over my head and just don't realize it yet, but that's okay. It's a load of fun and I'm so happy with how they are turning out!
🐴🐴🐴
❤❤❤
I keep talking about starting a stocking but have yet to do it 😂 I love seeing your progress on yours!❤
❤
I love tinturn abbey, it's great to see you working on it. Does your sister share her progress anywhere? Best of luck on finishing the stockings. Happy stitching 💜
Just text updates and she hasn't worked on Tintern Abbey in a bit. She's a full coverage beast though and has finished 6 pages of another HAED since June 😳 I wish I had her perseverance!
So schöne Bilder 😍, wo kann man das Karussell Pferd kaufen? Danke und viele Grüße 😊
Thank you so much for watching! I got the carousel horse chart here and all four seasons are available on the same website 😊 www.patternsonline.com/Patterns/Pat.aspx?P=34609 Auto-translate from Google: Vielen Dank fürs Zuschauen! Ich habe die Karussellpferdetabelle hier und alle vier Staffeln sind auf derselben Website verfügbar.
Btw I am loving your fruit of plenty, every time you show it I want to do it. I’m so the same with thinking I can get so much more done….i just need three of me
You too?! it's amazing how my brain thinks it can do everything and my poor self cannot do all the things right now, which just upsets my brain 😂
Hi. So glade you shared this update. The stockings are looking amazing, having a senior in highschool is not for the weak lol. My youngest just started her sophomore year of college and her senior year flew by. You mentioned you are a knitter, I am as well the one thing I did for her senior year was I started a blanket, she is a swimmer and was in band etc ever time I went to an activity I worked on the blanket. She just left for school and that blanket was a must have. I also made a t shirt quilt but I can’t see so that’s a bit of a mess lol. Enjoy this special time because it flies.
The knitting a blanket sounds amazing! I didn't know I needed another project but yes i do!
So glade for the update, and no need to apologize you got so much done. I live in Minnesota and we had like a week of hot weather today it was 60 and I wore a sweater lol, Lake Superior makes everything so much cooler. Anyway love your projects, I am a newer stitcher and only stitch on Aida, I don’t understand linen and am a scaredy cat. Btw your curls are beautiful
Omg! You are reading my mind!! This year I started a project on grey aida and I loved it so much that worked in that project for nearly 5 months straight!! I recently found some old Lori Birmingham kits at a LNS and bought the 4 that they had. I miss the days of actual shading. Sure it could be pain changing floss more often but they were so much richer. I’ve tried to avoid over dyed but recently I was on vacation and bought Autumn Smalls by the Blue Flower and the called for over dyed. My dye lot of glazed carrots is more like a flesh color than a pumpkin color. I also bought a couple of the Tiny Towns and my version of Teal frost is nothing like the model. And I’m halfway through Frosty Tiny Town and I don’t think the over dyed are really doing all that much. Then when you try to just use the cunvetsuon to dmc you have to kind of overthink that too. Or some pieces if you just used DMC they would be just blobs of colors. On the other hand I’m doing a Halloween witch from this years Halloween issue from JCS. It’s all overdyed(as is every other pattern in there) but I only picked 4 of the colors, like her dress and the bats and her hair to use overdyed I had in stash. It does look pretty nice and the colors where I just used DMC look really good. I guess you gotta pick and chose….but wait a minute that’s what I PAY designers to do, right?!?
Oh no, wrong white 😢. Glad you took it out, but yeah, not fun. Please keep going. I have all five Queens done, sorry if that sounds boasting, it is not meant to. Glad you are still enjoying this pattern. 😊
I stitched Winter Queen when it came out. Glad you are enjoying this. Do not forget the black to create the ermine trim. 😊
beautiful work I will watch again because I subscribed.
Awesome! Thank you!
Wow. Taking our white must have been challenging. Good on you for doing it. I really enjoyed your projects. Thank you so much for sharing!!
Not going to lie, it was miserable because it was the same color as the linen and trying to not disrupt some of the stitches of Wisper added to the challenge. But, it was the right answer and I'm glad I didn't let it linger once I saw the problem. Thank you for your kind words too!
Ripping out is the worst ripping out white or black seems so much harder. Beautiful work as usual. I am starting my HAED tonight and am nervous but excited to jump in. Thanks for sharing your life and stitching with us
Ok so I comment as I watch so sorry for the multiple parts, I am 47 a newer stitcher but I have been a knitter and crocheter for years and I have the same problem with my anxiety and the negative voices in my head that make me feel badly about my progress or where I am, stitching has been so hard for me because my work is not looking great and I just want to rip out and restart loli don’t know. I do think my age and stage of life adds to my stress and anxiety.
First off, please don't feel like you have to apologize for the multiple comments. I know how hard corralling thoughts can be and I appreciate how genuine you are. I've been on a journey with my anxiety and I 💯 get how critical we can be of our own work. And know what? Your projects are great. Even when they aren't going how you envision them, the very act of creating with your hands is valuable and know that I am right there with you on the feelings and I have to remind myself that I am more than those negative thoughts and comparison to an unattainable perfection robs me of joy. As a side note, perimenopause and my hormones are complete jerks and I know that is a factor in my anxiety. So please, give yourself grace and know you are not alone 🤗
Also, meant to add, good luck with your HAED. Which one are you doing?
@@TheCraftyWhippet hormones are not fun. The funny part is if I show my project to someone I literally point out what is wrong…like they couldn’t tell but I do it, it is so silly. I am doing mini cleatus he is a funny looking bird I don’t know what drew me to this as so far I have done a lot of Emma congdon, artsy housewife and a couple of simple starter kits. So this project is giant and just so fun but when I showed a photo of what it looks like to my family they were like are you ok lol. 😂 thanks for your videos they really are great
Lovely work,
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you for this video. I am also a bit obsessed with Mira’s right now. I was so motivated to finish stargazer as I was watching you do yours. Then I got autumn queen. Yeah bc I saw you doing it. Now I just ordered winter queen. You are officially a Mirabelia enabler. 😂 I love every minute of your videos and your projects. ❤ bless!
I started the MFE current years project in Feb. Decided not to do it as a SAL, but just at my own pace with 3371 & 3750. I can't imagine doing it without PatternKeeper as it is 35xxx stitches. Enjoying seeing your variety of projects - and best of luck on those stockings....
I have Winter Queen as a WIP. For 20 years. I changed the dress colour to lilac.
My Summer Queen took 12.5 years to finish and I didn't even change anything. I don't know why some projects like to maintain their WIP status for so long, but it happens. I bet the lilac looks wonderful. I think the dress for Winter Queen is a great template for color conversions
I have wanted to do the modern folk piece as well but I have only been stitching a year and never have done a large piece and I only stitch Aida right now lol. Are you going to start in the middle? I am always curious with large pieces how one does it
First of all, you can absolutely do it on Aida. My next Long Dog Sampler is going on an 16 ct Aida and I have several pictures in my house that are on Aida and you can't see the fabric type from several feet away. Never feel like you need to change your fabric choice unless you want to do so. I go back and forth on center starts and upper left corners. I've done both and for the MFE 2024 SAL, I'm going to start in the upper left as I know the piece is big enough and I didn't cut it 😂 Really though, there is no cross stitch police that will tell you that you are stitching wrong by tackling a big piece doing a center start on Aida. And the part I will say about any of the larger project, they stitch the same as smaller ones, you'll just have the same WIP going for a longer timespan.
Gorgeous projects you have. I finished Autumn Queen about 8 years ago. On 32 count Waterlily Jobelan ( sort of a light celery colour). She was fun to stitch. Winter Queen is still in progress and I converted her colours to lilacs - DMC 209, 210 etc. and switched out 2 of the bead colours too. The fabric is 32 count light grey Lugana.
Loved seeing all your projects. ❤.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You have a lot of white and black stitching in these projects. I would have a hard time staying motivated. Your projects are stunning!
Thank you for putting into words the feeling I was struggling with. I just pulled two colorful projects because I need to have some variety and lots of color right now 😊
@@TheCraftyWhippet sometime we just have to intentionally add color to our lives. I love that I have cross stitch to do that.
I love your Summertime Coverlet. What thread are you using?
It is Gentle Art Simply Shaker thread in the colorway Uniform Blue. It has a decent amount of varigation and since I started off with too little, I've had to pick up extra skeins. the darker parts run bluer and the lighter sections read gray to my eyes. I do love the floss and I like how it's been turning out stitching 1 over 2 on 36 ct linen.
I am so glad I found you and so amazed that I didn’t know about you. UA-cam didn’t drop your video into my feed until today. Your stitching is lovely.
So glad the UA-cam algorithm was generous as that's how I discover new to me channels as well 😂 Definitely checking out your parade video from March right now 😊
@@TheCraftyWhippet thank you for checking me out. I appreciate it.
Thank you for posting this video! I enjoy watching your progress.
Thank you for your kind comment! My goal this year is definitely progress and I'm grateful to be able to share
Thank you for holding your projects up for a good length of time.
You're welcome! I am an avid Flosstube watcher as well and I know how much I love seeing others works as they inspire me too. Thank you so much for watching!
Hi, I just love your Quaker. The color is so pretty. And your Winter Queen. WOW!!! She is gorgeous. I love watching her come to life. Happy Stitching. ❤❤❤
Is it bad that I'm kicking myself for waiting almost 2 decades after buying Winter Queen to stitch her up? I am LOVING every stitch on her right now. I just love how the satin in her gown is coming to life 💖
Happy stitching 💜
So glade start doing is done….that must feel good. Sometimes it the small projects that linger. So I only started stitching last year and for my birthday last week my husband had a custom cross stitch chart of our black pug made. I love my pug but oh man my 47 year old eyes can’t see all the black lol
Also you are doing great. I want to do stockings for my kids so I can’t wait to see what you think of the kits and patterns
It's funny how the small projects that I tell myself will be fast, aren't and yet sometimes the larger projects speed themselves along. I think that's part of the fun of hobbies when you learn quirks about yourself!
Interesting collection of projects! I started this year with the determination to crank down the WIP pile. I am now left with Six older Mystery SALs in various stages of completion + all my new starts for this year. For me, I need to keep the total number below a dozen since I am a progress stitcher - and too many WIPs ....
I am too chicken to every try a mystery SAL because if it turns out I don't like it, I would be devastated and I really don't like not finishing a started project. I agree about needing to keep the WIP pile smaller because tiny bits of progress are the opposite of my style of motivation. Good luck with winnowing down your WIP pile so you can enjoy your new starts!
@@TheCraftyWhippet I started some Mystery SALs during the Pandemic & quickly figured out whose designs I like. Those are the only new ones I take on. But there is nothing wrong with tossing something that turns out to be ugly/not enjoyable/total pain…we all have limited time better spent on things that bring joy
❤️🪡💛🧵🖤
Thank you!
Great projects. You got so much done. Can’t wait to see you in May
Thank you! I'm looking forward to both a finish and a start if my week goes well 😊
Lovely projects! Happy stitching 💜
Thank you! 😊
Thanks for the deep dive into Stargazer's beading situation!
Stargazer is beautiful. How do you stitch the skin?
I always do 2 over 2 as per the chart. Doing one over one quadruples the amount of stitching and I don't usually find the results as pleasing plus, smoothing the color changes seems to be a challenge to do well and not something I want to tackle needlessly.
@@TheCraftyWhippet Thanks for the feedback. Stitching the skin on a Mira has made me instant to start one.
Stargazer is looking soooo good 🎉
I love this piece soooooo much! I have no idea how I'll feel after all of the beading, but it is one of the best Mirabilia designs released in my estimation 😊
I may start her for Mira May but I keep going back and forth.
Do it! Yes, I am an enabler 😆
Love your Long Dog! I know what you mean about working on something you just want to get done with but don’t really like any longer. And your Carousel Horse…beautiful!!
I'm torn now between wanting to make a couple of new starts right and to finish some pieces first, so I think I'm going to plug away at the easy projects in hopes that I can satisfy both wants. Thank you for the kind words on Fall Carousel Horse. It definitely demands more attention than some of my other cross stitch but the outcome is absolutely worth it!!
Enjoy your videos! As I have more WIP's, I'm trying to figure out a good way to manage them. I tend to stitch one pattern at a time, and I'm trying to stretch my wings, and do some of each wip each month. Your wheel is interesting, and is giving me some thought.
Great video, kept me company while I stitched. Thanks for sharing your work.
I just found your channel and was intrigued by the name! Your method of choosing what to work on each month is a great idea that I may adopt! I have subscribed so I’ll see you on your next video!!
🐴🐴🐴
Congratulations on finishing your Autumn Queen. She's gorgeous!
