Floorboard water leak fix for 2016 Jeep Patriot
Переглядів 15 тис.4 роки тому
After discovering water on the floorboard of our Jeep Patriot, we decided to see if the A/C drainage hose was clogged. Sure enough, it just needed to be unclogged, and the water drained from the car. In this video, we break down how to access the hose underneath the floorboard, unclog the hose, and make sure it is all put back together correctly.

Does anyone know if the bulb is the same for the brake light in the trunk door?
I do not know
Thank you! This was super helpful!
@@killerkitten7534 I’m glad it was helpful!
Suggestion for anyone doing this; the OEM weather strips suck on these tail lights so I would super glue it in so it stays properly sealed.
I figured out how to seat it easily after the fact...if you put the seal in the plastic piece that comes off and then install it, it's super easy and seals well. I will have to do a video the next time I change out lights.
Thanks, buddy, exactly what i was looking for. Pretty simple, thanks again.
You are welcome...glad it helped!
Literally, all I needed. Really nice, succint instructions and tips. Thank you!
So glad it helped!
Please tell me where are the rear parking likes..please...I'm a single mom I know nothing about cars
Are you wanting to know where to buy the replacement bulbs?
My white screw doesn't come off no matter how long I unscrew it
For me I just kept untwisting it. It seems like it’s not twisting at all for the first couple turns but it is inside.
Did you ever get it to come off?
@ had to get it replaced. They had to cut it off. Was jammed
@ that’s a bummer!
Thank you this was so helpful this tutorial caused the least amount of damage as some other guys just pry the fabric without popping that plastic part out so luck you I watched this
So glad it helped!
Thnx
My pleasure!
Great video!
Thank you!
great vid mate, very clear and easy to follow
So glad it helped!
The white screw holding the assembly in is completely jammed for me, any advice?
Mine was very easy to get out. Maybe try to spray wd40 and let it soak a minute before trying again. Just a thought.
@@RallsworksCustoms Some wd40 and wrapping the end of the screw in a shop rag worked like a charm, thanks
@@MalfunctionsSuck that’s great news!!
Easy to follow through. Thank you

THANK YOU SO MUCH I was going to pay for a new heater core for my sister's Patriot luckily I thought it didn't make sense and then I found your video and man I can't thank you enough 🙏💚✌️
I'm glad I was able to help you out and save you a few bucks!
Hey thanks 4 the help!
You are quite welcome!
My jeep is leaking coolant from right above the hose near the entrance opposite of the firewall. It’s so weird it leaks onto my foot and burns like hell.
Is it right where the screw is, cause that’s where mine is leaking I’m confused on what it’s called and what to do as well
@@chrislee6928 yeah, it’s right where the screw is and at least on your foot so it’s the heater core. I took my car to the shop. They told me the heater core was faulty and flushing. It wouldn’t do anything. They told me I had a swap it out, but I live in Arizona where it’s hot. So I don’t necessarily need the heater in the car so I created a bypass. If you want to do a bypass, just disconnect the hoses in the engine bay that go to the heater core they sell a bypass kit at AutoZone. And hook the hose up together. You won’t have any heat but your AC will still work. The car won’t overheat no more leaking. I was quoted at the shop $2300 to fix the heater core.
@@chrislee6928 if you decide to bypass the heater core the kit cost $25 bucks
@@chrislee6928 I also have a short video on my page on how I did the bypass
I hope you got it fixed...all the best!
thank you for shairing.

Thank you. My son just called from work about the weather techs being all wet and sound coming from the dash (during left turns?). He says it not coolant so I suspect this is the culprit. 2011 Patriot. Edit - Yep, Lake Jeep drained into my driveway when I ran a thin snake up the tube from underneath. About 4-5 inches in the dam broke. Drain tube can be seen and reached without lifting the Jeep about 2-3 ft in from the drivers side and even with the back of the front tire. I could hear the fan pushing water without it even running on high speed. My son received a lecture about being in tune with his vehicle. Thanks again.
My pleasure!
Had the exact same problem, whistling noises while turning left, sudden dripping on driver's side. Pulled back the carpet, pinched the hose on the elbow and felt that grit build up and suddenly gushing through the bottom. Amazing 30 second fix when I would have spent hours waiting at the shop and probably $100 dollars in "labor" for them to check all my belts and bearings. Astounding and well explained explain fix, thanks Rallsworkcustoms!
Thanks so much for this 👍. Just replaced my taillight bulbs in my MK6 Golf with the help of your video.
