Super muzyka
I adore the orchestral version and consider it one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard in my life, but this is good too.
Andre Previn on the podium Was one of the best conductors On the podium You’re talking Crap There is a wonderful performance of Prokofiev Lieutenant Kije On you tube Andre Previn’s Music Night These amateur bands that Play the Trokia from Lieutenant Kije at Christmas Do not play it properly It’s meant to played Out of Tune
Qui osera dire que Kilar n'est pas un grand compositeur ???...
god i'm still in love
This is like na open "secret" piece .IS IT Brittens only ballet ? It sits amongst his multiple operas as singular achievement i think.
best classiscal music song. I felt goosebumps
Thanks for continuing my education on music. Music is too good to just listen to one particular style. I really enjoyed this. Heartfelt, relaxing, peaceful, deep... Bravo! :)
Just love it!
I think Ashkenazy is being too pushy
999/10 I am proud to be Eurazian 💪💪💪💪🦌🦌🦌🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
5:37 *PASSION AND POWER*
Pieces such as this are a counterbalance to the grotesque even while expressing the effects of it. This music prys into anyone's heart and soul that can stand up to it with a lyricism that is rarely matched by music of any era.
Classic and immensely Russian performance, with nicely brisk tempi, of this shatteringly potent and heart-meltingly expressive symphony. The famous bell canto theme mainly on cellos, in the 1st movement, starting at 2:00, is captivating and enthralling beyond words. Then its transformation and embellishment on full orchestra is absolutely thrilling and ecstatic. It is like the sunburst over the Great Pyramid of Giza, and the face of the smiling goddess Kali Ma, and the most perfect mutually adoring ego-dismantling love! "I give you all my heart, and hold yours in my blessed sight, with tears of joy falling from my cheeks! We two or three or four or more do this is adoration of each other and to celebrate the divinity burning and radiating in our souls!" Oh my goddess. It is amazing to be able to write and play such music. Love andrea
What is the picture? I mean who is author
Beautiful
He sounds incredible, absolutely, amazing, wonderful, I loved every note
19:46 is one of my favorite parts. There's something about it that's just so mystical, serene, and sensuous at the same time, then gloriously melting into tender nostalgia. My other favorite part is 27:58. Just pure serenity and passion! I absolutely love this criminally underrated symphony!
Rachmaninov is one of my absolute favourites ❤❤❤ besutiful composer and sinuous melodies 😊
👏
I can't believe I've never listened to this great Rachmaninov symphony before now! What a wonderful way to start the day. Thanks so much for making this possible.
First Movement: "My Son, mu Son chosen and beloved Share your wounds with your Mother And because, dear Son, I have always carried You in my heart, And always served You faithfully Speak to Your Mother, to make her happy, Although You are already leaving me, my cherished hope". (Lamentation from the collection of medieval passion poems from Benedictine Monastery of St. Cross on Łysa Góra, Poland. Second half of the 15th century. Author unknown). Second Movement: "No, mother, do not weep. Most chaste Queen of Heaven Support me always. Hail Mary, full of grace". (Prayer inscribed on the wall of cell no. 3 in the basement of "Palace" - the Gestapo's headquarters in Zakopane, Poland; Beneath was the signature: Helena Wanda Błażusiakówna, 18 years old, imprisoned since 26 September 1944"). [Helena Błażusiak survived torture without betraying her comrades and then she managed to escape from deportation train to nazi concentration camp. She died in 1999]. Third Movement: "Where has he gone My dearest son? Perhaps during the uprising The cruel enemy killed him Ah, you bad people In the name of God, the most Holy, Tell me, why did you kill My son? Never again Will I have his support Even if I cry My old eyes out Were my bitter tears to create another River Oder They would not restore to life My son He lies in his grave and I know not where Though I keep asking people Everywhere Perhaps the poor child Lies in a rough ditch and instead he could have been lying in his warm bed Oh, sing for him God's little song-birds Since his mother Cannot find him And you, God's little flowers May you blossom all around So that my son May sleep happily". (The folk song from the period of the Silesian Uprisings of 1919-1921).
Część I: "Synku miły i wybrany Rozdziel z Matką swoje rany; A wszakom Cię, Synku miły W swem sercu nosiła A takież Tobie wiernie służyła, Przemów k Matce Bych się ucieszyła, Bo już jidziesz ode mnie Moja Nadziejo miła". (fragment "Lamentu świętokrzyskiego" z opactwa benedyktyńskiego na Świętym Krzyżu. Lata 70-te XV w. Autor nieznany). Część II: "Mamo, nie płacz, nie... Niebios Przeczysta Królowo, Ty zawsze wspieraj mnie. Pewnie go w powstaniu złe wrogi zabiły. Ej, ćwierkajcie mu tam, wy ptosecki boze, kiedy mamulicka znaleźć go nie moze. A ty, boze kwiecie, kwitnijze w około, niech sie synockowi choć lezy wesoło". (ludowa pieśń z czasów Powstań Śląskich 1919-1921).

oh my GOD !
MARAVILLOSO INTÉRPRETE DE SIBELIUS: UN SABIO.
What a phenomenal, instantly appealing work
Substantial musical stuff, away from the sentimental orientalism that mostly defines his music. Another major work of his is the Violin Concerto.
Tenés grabado rumores de la Caleta?
Fascinante ❤
He plays the coda of the 3rd movt (presto) slower than the rest of the piece because he was already playing presto before that!
Es hermosisimaa ! ; sinceramente, no pude contener el llanto😪😪😭😭👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

...muzyka płynie , płyyynie.....ludzkie losy...
Well this is my go-to performance. It is a heavenly gamelan-like sound in the first movement.
whoever was working the sound booth at the 9:30 club was playing this after MONO left stage in like 2011... i stopped and asked and he seemed surprised. Thank you
Une oeuvre extremement emouvante jouee ici avec la plus intense conviction. Je la fais suivre de la dixieme symphonie de Dmitri Chostakovitch.
