      If they are late, you can deduct from their salary if you wanted to! But paying them late would be a breach of contract i'm afraid.

    I have a question I am going through the same process TUPE . As I am an international nurse in uk working under NHS . Our department is Is transferring to private company. So being an international nurse I need to get certificate of sponsorship from private company for my visa status . Could please share me some more knowledge and ideas on this topic.       Your new employer would need to become a sponsor employer so you need to enquire with them about whether or not they are already a sponsor employer - if not, they need to start the process quickly. You should be invited to a consultation meeting with your new employer - (or you should have a rep who is in consultation with your new employer) so ask them to raise it formally as part of the consultation.

    You keep telling yourself that love. I remember when I was having my vasectomy, I thought to myself: "I'd much rather have a non-binary POC with a physical disability and lactose intolerance performing this delicate operation than the run-of-the-mill white guy who apparently knows what he's up to". How I so deeply regret I don't have another vas deferens for somebody "diverse" to operate on.

    Hello from Philippines, whence I retired in 2013 because the UK is a bankrupt shithole, First of all, you should hire some people who actually want to work and have the ability to do so. I worked in UK for several different companies throughout the 33 years of my working life, and most of my time was spent clearing up the messes my colleagues made. My colleagues were bone-idle and useless and in my experience UK school leavers are unemployable because they are illiterate and want everything handed to them on a platter (the poor state of UK education and the welfare state have much for which to be reproached!). The only diversity of which I am aware is all the migrants flooding into UK and who we desperately need to do all the work that native Brits are incapable of doing. I think maybe 10 million migrants need to be welcomed over the next decade; those migrants are better educated and want to work and should be hired in droves; otherwise where will the Treasury get the tax receipts to pay all the state benefits including my state pension (to which I am proud to say I contributed for 33 years).

    Are employees really deemed not to be redundant no matter what, even if it will be unreasonable for them to take on an alternative role?

      Thanks for asking! It is a really complex area so best to talk it through if you get in touch... but basically the person follows the work. So if the work is moving, the person goes with it. If the work isnt moving because it isnt required any longer then redundancy might apply BUT if the work is moving but the new employer wants it to be done by someone else that they already employ then they would be allowed to transfer. If too many people are then employed to do that particular job then normal redundancy applies but new employer would have to "pool" both people. Does that make sense? I told you it was complex!!!

      @@iamthegame09 Well that certainly needs addressing if their workload is unmanageable. If it's because of a particular project and is a short period of time then working a bit longer to get a job done isn't unusual in a salaried role, but if it is always happening and they are continuously working late then it needs addressing. Is the workload too high? Is the employee not being as productive as they could? Are their distractions that stop them focussing? Certainly worth a chat to find out what's going on with them.

    Hi there, thank you for the information. Just to add for clarity on this is, the fit note is only valid if it is from the NHS practitioners. Such as NHS physio or GP physio, NHS occ therapist, NHS pharmacist in the hospital, community mental health nurse and community occ. therapists. No private pharmacist or private physiotherapist are allowed to do so. The DWP is hoping to reduce pressure on GP's by providing this flexibility in the system. Thank you and it is useful to know.

      Hopefully that will work well and the pressure is off the GP's. I think that there is some concern that it will be open to abuse by employees but i doubt that will be the case. These are all professionals and can spot a malingerer a mile off, and actually I'm hoping that this new system will allow for more suggestions of workplace adjustments so that employees can return to work quicker.
