Great compilation. Missing Freddie Miles, though.
Solid edit. Thanks!
Still wouldn’t eat it because that so called beef out of a tube is gross cheap crap! My God, spend the extra money to get quality burger beef!
A slow burn into our consciousness, then you waited for everything and anything he would touch, then gone!! He was born to do this. He was not supposed to die that way.
His loss? Hit me to my core....and I could not give an abstract F%^K about fame/ celebrity ....but TALENT ??? hurts to lose
The scenes between him and Meryl Streep in Doubt is maybe the best acting between two people I’ve ever seen. They were equals
Sharted😂😂😂 I want to fart and shit came out😂😂😂
no. you can't say he was the greatest actor ever. Bogart. Spencer Tracy. James Stewart. Marlon Brando. de Niro. Pacino. But he certainly was the greatest of his generation. And it is a great loss he left us so soon.
7:47 what film from please?
Capote

Definitely not the greatest, but, even though he believes the opposite, one of the greatest
What’s with the stupid background music?
One of those actors that can do anything on screen
Truly a one of a kind actor's actor. Whether the role is large or small, his range portraying widely different characters is staggering. Didn't even include Scent Of A Woman, State And Main, or Big Lebowski.
His secret, was that he ACTS. He wasn’t him, he was some one else. That is ………….”acting”!
Could you please tell me where I can find this music? Shazam didn't recognize. Thanks in advance.
Drugs involved does not count.
😂😂😂😂
Talented Mr … Hoffman ❤
on my life ive never seen a single one of these movies and i was shedding tears by the end of this video
Why are you here? And how have you not seen any of these?
No twister, He’s amazing in that!
*Daniel Day Lewis has entered the chat*
His performance in Owning Mahowney was brilliantly nuanced and understated-- and when he had to be intense he never appeared to overact. Before the Devil Knows You're Dead is another gem of his as well.
He was like Donald Sutherland: He could play anything and make you believe he was that person. That's real acting.
I remember every time he came on screen in the Hunger Games series I'd just think "why can't the whole series be on this level?"
Donald Sutherland not great actor. But P. S. Hoffman is.
Yes but no. Donald Sutherland was not in PSH's class - not that I didn't enjoy his performances but one is an artist and the other is an artisan.
@@paulshawley6490 and what are you?

this guy... wow
No Capote or Boogie Nights? Lol
I hated The Master when I first saw it. Now I think it’s one of TPA’s most underrated movies
Its rare that we see an actor perform with such heart on every project. Such warmth and humanity.
PSH Literally Me Cinematic Universe
Was your little brother practicing his piano lesson in the other room while you were editing this?
I didn’t like all his movies, but I always liked him in every movie he was in.
Not really
Two things this video prompted me to say; 1) people swoon over how good Nicholson, Pachino and Washington are, but they’ve no comparative range the way Phillip had. They’ve had good roles in certain movies to be sure, but they’re essentially just playing versions of themselves in everything they do. Phillip was a true chameleon, he disappeared into his character’s and gave them all such distinct personalities….he didn’t do phone-ins, he did performances. 2) Jessie Plemmons is the continuation of Phillips magic.
Excellent observation. I think your most accurate juxtaposition is Pacino. It’s very difficult to find a role in which he extends his range like Philip could. Washington, perhaps, reaches his parameters in Fences (2016), which explores the experience of one black family living in the era of segregation and the unfolding of the civil rights movement. His character, Troy, struggles with intergenerational trauma, bitterness, and the inherent trickle down effect of parents messing up their children, which results in those children subsequently messing up their children, and so on. Washington effectively portrays a flawed, weak individual, who eventually loses everything he fought over. I’d say this, in general, is a departure from the “normal” version of himself that you’ve referred to above. As for Nicholson, aside from a few naturally raunchy and inappropriate rom-coms, I’d argue that his range meets its maxim in About Schmidt (2002). Described by Roger Ebert as “essentially a portrait of a man without qualities, baffled by the emotions and needs of others. That Jack Nicholson makes this man so watchable is a tribute not only to his craft, but to his legend: Jack is so unlike Schmidt that his performance generates a certain awe.” Nicholson’s character, a widower named Warren, confronts the disinteresting meaning of life and the grim reality that he’ll soon be forgotten. Cathartic tears in the final scene represent a complete withdrawal from Nicholson’s normality. RIP Philip - The Chameleon
Dog Day Afternoon…
@@Moshie71 “they’ve had good roles in certain movies to be sure” (Godfather, Serpico and Dog Day)
Why TF is Jennifer Aniston the thumbnail?
I think he would’ve loved this soft piano music over the “sharting” scene. Happy Birthday Phillip!
I just farted and a little shit came out and that word shartted was born 😂
I was jokingly going to ask why they didn't include the 'i just sharted scene', lol, color me impressed. What a legend.
His bit part in "Hard Eight" was one of his finest hours.
to me, he's the kind of actor or just person you dont want to learn anything about to gain insight to his process and all that. when he is on screen, you just want to enjoy him work. to me, anyway.
Combination of Jack Black and Kyle Gass
If there's one of the many roles by P.S.H. etched in memory, for me, it was his death scene in "Red Dragon." Brutal. His recorded screams heard off camera, the burnt corpse, etc.
Look.... nOoOoOo...
Dear sweet Philip, for the most sensitive among us sometimes the noise is too much - Jim Carrey tweet upon Philip’s passing
Funny, no Mr. Ripley and no 25th hour
No God's Pocket?
"Promises were made!" "Not by me." "I've been with the company for 24 years. I was posted in Greece for 15. Papandreou wins that election if I don' t help DeHunta(?) take him prisoner. I've advised and armed the Hellenic army, I've neutralized champions of communism, I've spent the past THREE years learning FINNISH, which should come in handy here in Virginia, and I'm never ever sick at sea. So I wanna know WHY i'm not gonna be your H E L S I N K I S T A T I O N C H I E F"
Dang right ,a real loss.
Which film is it in the thumbnail? He looks so much like Jennifer Aniston it's astonishing
Do you mean the movie with him and jennifer anniston? That's along came polly
PSH and PTA were f'n formidable.
Im crying dawg
good shit
Take away this sentimental music. 🤮
His greatest performance was being a heroin addict who remained obese. That was his level of dedication to the craft.
