Whilst I hope that the grid can cope with battery electric vehicles, there could be a problem in the not to distant future. When all new cars sold are battery electric and you have between 1.6 to 2 million being sold on a yearly basis, at what point would the grid not be able to meet demand.

we can pause charging? brilliant so if a normal person like me needs to charge they could "pause' my charging? so i go to get in the car and it hast charged to what i would expected? i work nights by the way so would have to charge at peak times aswell, and all the options hes giving charge while at the office, gym etc totally forgetting about people who dont work 9 - 5. also my car has done 259,000 miles and still going strong!

All I know is this! My 2017 30kwh Nissan Leaf lies about its capable range, just as much as nissan used to lie about their diesel emissions. It tells you it'll do 125 miles on a full charge & won't do anywhere near that, also absolutely crap for motorway driving. However it's a nice city car or country road within your own county! So I need to buy a far better car, that doesn't lie, that actually does 250 to 300 miles & actually affordable for normal, low wage people, who can't have solar to charge it up for free etc ..
