Hello, thanks for the video. I have a couple questions. I am thinking of using this as a room divider in my loft style apartment. But, the back of the wardrobe would face the living room. I am wondering if the back is nice to look at or if it is cheap, plain cardboard material like most of these ideas wardrobes. Is the back finished or just cardboard color? Also, the lady at the store said I need to secure it to the wall, so it couldn't work for a room divider. However, I am a single man, no children will be climbing on this. I tend to think it would not be too top heavy and I could use it for a room divider! What are your thoughts?

What paint type did you use ? Eggshell Matt etc? Thanks

My fiancé and I have also been renovating our house (though certainly not a big job as yours) and just giggled when you mentioned that in a big job like that we cant focus on the small bad things or we will go crazy and that you and your boyfriend never argued as much as during that time. Well same with me and my fiancé but we know its a phase, the problem is that I still go crazy with the small things!

I am currently renovating too and honestly if you focus on the small things (like I do) it does drive you crazy! Have tried to put things in perspective and remain sane. I’ve gone for similar DIY kitchens, yours looks great. It’s a real learning process, I feel like our units are too small and I wish I’d gone for more pull outs but you live and you learn!!

This is now firmly obsolete. My loft convirsion even with me doing most of the work topped 30k in materials.

is it a solid brick wall or cavity. I wold guess solid brick. There is therefore the question of how the wall can get rid of any moisture that is within the wall. With a cement render external then that is a big problem and painting it will only make that worse. The best option of the house long term would have been to remove the pebble dash, clean the bricks and repoint. Expensive but you would have ensured the long term life of the wall was increased rather than impaired.

Thank you for this great video. I’ve been quoted 168k for a loft conversion for 2 bedrooms an open plan study area coming off the stairs a bathroom and a rear dormer on a detached house all inc VAT. That seems very high. What do you think? I’m new to this.Thanks.

A really good effort. For future projects use UNO walk plugs. Available everywhere they can be used in solid walls and stud walls. They have a very sizeable pull out force. I’ve used them for years even for rads and heavy duty fittings.
