Hi there, I do all sorts of stuff but it's mostly music-related things. Specifically chiptunes, tracker music, visualizations, all that good stuff.
Roller Rebellion [SNES]

squiggythings just released WaveTracker, his music tracker that he's been working on for a while. I decided to use this release as an opportunity to push through artist's block and make a song. Check out WaveTracker here: wavetracker.org

This is an electronic drum 'n' bass tune that I banged out in a few hours. Had Super Monkey Ball on the mind while making it, so couple this song with Monkey Ball footage for a richer, more aesthetic experience. Made for ninth day of the 'Advent Calendar 2023' compo @ battleofthebits.com.

Nice Grounseed style OPNA tune!😄🤩😎👌
What music program are you using?🤨🤔🧐

Groovy! 😀
An upgraded version of the OPL2, the OPL3,was released in 1990. It improved upon the feature-set of the YM3812, using four-operator FM synthesis, which produces harmonically richer sound similar to contemporary consumer synthesizer keyboards such as Yamaha DX100.
Somari 3D Blast:Only For NES
That's a really good remix!
Has a bit of an "undiscovered Street Fighter 2 stage" vibe. Real footapper of a jam - nicely done!
this was sixth place in my youtube recap for most listened to :P

This is fucking radical. Awesome work, dude.

banger
woah i love it 🔥
this is awesome :)
I like wavetracker so much! Its so satisfying
average dippy banger
This song is actually really cool! Can I use it as an intro for my videos? I'll be sure to credit you, of course.
@@RascleStar As long as you credit me like you said, sure!
@@Dippy0615 Absolutely! Thanks for creating an awesome tune from the original show.
Amo esas partes en la que la musica se corta, como la Snes no era un consola tan potente parq ahorrar memoria cortaban algunas partes de la musica. Gracias por esta bella obra ❤
Se escucha mejor que la original
Banger 👍 Functions should be declared with this song lmao
:D
dear god it's so fucking good
Smooth. Glad I stumbled into this!
i really like this.
🆒
If it's a cover, then I can't hear a single flaw in it. A very nice listen, though I'm completely unfamiliar with the source. I was about to comment that it sounds just like something from Megadrive's days; the style is similar to some Amiga stuff as well as a few other tracker modules I've listened to.
Yesssssssss funkay!!!!
I'm not familiar with the original, but this is really nice! Can you outline some differences in capabilities between the YM2608 and other Yamaha FM synthesizer chips?
I think that the YM2612 (Mega Drive/Genesis) chip is probably the most similar. Both have 6 FM channels, and both chips are also commonly used alongside a PSG chip (YM2612 with the SN76489, YM2608 with the AY-3-8910). The biggest difference that I can think of is the YM2608's drum capabilities. The YM2608 has 6 ADPCM channels that can only play drum sounds off of a ROM (not used here). It also has an extra ADPCM channel, but that one isn't bound to a ROM and you can use it to play whatever samples you want (used here for the drums). Hope this comparison helped clear up the capabilities of the chip!
@@Dippy0615 Interesting. Thanks for the information!
@@azazelleblackAlso, unlike the YM2612, which is used separately from the SN7, the YM2608’s AY sound chip(technically a Yamaha rebranded version call the YM2149F, which has double the envelope length the AY8910 has) is built-in within the YM2608! There’s also the YM2203, which is the YM2608 and YM2612’s predecessor, and consisting of 3 FM channels plus the YM2149F channels, and then there’s the YM2610(the sound chip used in the Neo Geo), which has 4 FM channels and still retains the YM2149F channels, but it also has 7 ADPCM channels(the ADPCM-A channels, which function like the YM2608’s rhythm channels but without the built-in drum ROM samples and can use custom samples, and the ADPCM-B channel, which is an upgraded version of the YM2608’s ADPCM channel with a greater sample RAM capacity and a higher sample rate & quality), and then there’s the YM2610B(which is used exclusively in Taito arcade games), which is the same as the YM2610 but with the same amount of FM channels as the YM2608 and YM2612!😄😏😎🤓 All of these sound chips are part of the same line of FM sound chips, the OPN family(the YM2203 is called the OPN, the YM2608 is called the OPNA, the YM2610 is called the OPNB, the YM2612 is called the OPN2, and the some people call the YM2610B the OPNB2)! Same other features these sound chips all share is that all have the same sine wave LFO, they can use the YM2149F’s envelope generator on the FM channels, and on the 3rd FM channel of each sound chip(or the 2nd FM channel of the YM2610), they can use 2 special modes called the Channel 3 mode and CSM mode, one of them(the Channel 3 mode) in which the 3rd(or 2nd in the OPNB’s case) FM channel splits into 4 1op sine wave channels, which can make some unique combinations together depending on which FM algorithms you use with them(for example, 4 1op channels, 2 2op channels, or 1 3op channel+1 1op channel), and the other mode(the CSM mode)is the same as the other mode but uses this special composite sine mode(or CSM for short) timer that allows the channels used in the Channel 3 mode to make even more complex sounds such as rudimentary non sampled based speech synthesis! All sound chips in the OPN family can use the same FM algorithms, and the same FM instruments, as well as the same AY instruments on the built-in YM2149F every member of the OPN family(except for the YM2612) has! Also, the OPN family shares the same FM algorithms as the DX9, YM2151(aka the OPM, which is the most famous classic arcade game sound chip alongside the AY8910), and the YM2414(aka the OPZ, or more famously known as the sound chip used in the TX81Z)!
Is this ripped from the game? Sounds pretty darn similar if not
this is manually transcribed, some of the notes have the wrong timing and the string chords are played using one note in the original game
Castlevania Rondo of Blood HuCard ver.
Kitsune Woman Weapon: Sakura Thunder Weakness: Leprosy Shield
sounds more like donkey Kong country
Amazing, man! Really nice version!
Funilly enough, the most commonly used name to refer to Doom 1/2's protagonist, Doom guy, would technically fit the naming conventions of a Megaman robot master.
This is amazing! Truly!

nice work
this goes _unbelievably_ hard
Great tune. Been using trackers for a while and just started checking out Furnace. Dummy question - Is there a "setup" on here for Neo Geo like they have for Megadrive etc or did you just piece the right chips together? Love Neo Geo music and I'm trying to figure out where to start with making some music on that system
The Neo Geo used one sound chip called the Yamaha YM2610, and that chip has FM channels, sampler channels - everything that you need. So if you want to use Furnace, look for that chip when you're choosing chips.
@@Dippy0615 Thanks you! That's exactly what I needed to know. 👍👍
Although this couldn’t be done on the actual DX7 due to it being monotimbral, this could be done on the TX802, since that had 8x the DX7’s polyphony!😄🤩😏😎🤓
would love to hear more remixes in that style.
Definately groovy
Not bad!
Superb
Excellent 👌 **Edit** Wow, those sounds and the arrangement and everything. Love it.
Dude… under 1,000 views. This is criminally underrated!
