I'm 20 and lost my dad last year to a heart attack. He was only 63. I never told him enough how much I loved him, and because he passed suddenly, I never got the chance to. If you love someone, tell them. Because as sad as it is, if you don't, you may miss the chance to do so.

Lost my dad 3 years ago when I was 34. It was and still is the worst thing that's happened to me, something I don't think I'll ever really get over. Losing a parent especially a close one that you relied on for so much more than you ever knew is life changing. Days get easier but you feel that pain every single day.

Not many people have the pleasure of having their best friend also be their parent. My father was mine. Lost him when I was 22 years old to a car accident. To those that know, it is without a doubt the most devastating thing you can go through. Nothing prepares you for that phone call. All I know is that my father would be very proud of his 2 sons today, and we would keep going for him. Hang in there, and one day you will mean that much to your kids. This is amazing.

My mom (never knew my dad) also died from cancer last year about 3 weeks before my wedding day. Man it was hard to swallow. You can only prepare yourself so much. Hang in there, it gets better. Just hang onto the good memories and keep her spirit alive, always. I miss her everyday, sometimes I'd just start crying randomly (so gay, hehe,) but I feel she's still here in some way and would still talk to her, even if it's just a sentence or 2. Sucks because everytime I want to share something awesome that's happened, I'd share it with her first. But yeah man, it does get better. She'll forever be there looking after you even though you can't see her, trust in that.
