I saw this in the movies with my friends when it was released. I just turned 10. OMG

I had to remove stickers from something and, used a product called undue. Not sure if this is what was used here. I do know it dries extremely fast and, didn’t leave any marks. Iam very fascinated at watching your restoration videos. I wish I could learn this.

I've got my eyes on an original Jaws 3D theatrical poster from 1983. If I get it, I'm sending it to you to be cleaned, flattened and linen backed so I can frame it. Not a great movie but significant to me. First R movie I ever saw in the theater (at only 7 years old) and the first time I saw a movie in 3D.

The Artist is Rick Griffin! (1944 - 1981 R.I.P) Check out his life'n'work EDIT: Correction - it's "Skeleton & Roses," 1966, by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley. Rick Griffin did loads of The Dead's art, tho' !

excellent use of masking fluid to block off the smaller lettering so as not to be affected by the airbrushing. Also was that a Dremel to sand off the top layer of paper/handwriting?

what kind of acid free paper is it mounted on? What kind of paper is used to fill in missing pieces? You don't really cover those things.

what was she doing to the lettering at the bottom of the poster? It looked like she was coloring over it but whatever she applied faded away?

It's weird when you realize there's a job out there that's just perfect for you. I have an art degree, did some time at school archiving prints, I've worked as a printer, and I have a keen eye for matching colors with acrylic paints and colored pencils. In fact, I fooled one of my art teachers by mixing the same shade of blue/green on different days and using it in the same painting. He was flabbergasted that I could do that and make it seamless. How did I not know this job existed?

I love that this process exists, but does it not inherently reduce the market value of a rare poster like this, as it’s no longer in its original condition (no matter how aged)? You mention the backing is reversible. Would this mean the ‘cleaned’ poster could one day be safely removed from these new materials for auction? I’m curious is a new buyer would pay actual value for these posters, or something less. And just to preempt, I totally get that the owners of these gems may very well be undertaking this process to display their cherished treasures rather than sell them. 🙂
