Welcome back to Dan the Fisherman. I went out to Lake Ouachita with my son to catch some bass. It's the heat of the summer now and hard to stay cool, but still always fun to fish. I threw a bunch of different baits today, buzz bait, whopper popper, spook, and more. My son was throwing worms and catching a ton of bream and sunfish. It’s a good spot this time of year . And you can usually find some kind of shade around the cypress trees . Usually the bass will be in the shade as well

I just tried lake maumelle yesterday and I tried little maumelle river last week. I'm going to try oauchita this week I think. Really enjoy your insight and tips on baits. I've stayed at bass pro shop getting your suggested baits. Lol. Keep up good work!

Little Maumelle is a great spot for frog fishing. The water usually is stained to muddy but there are some good ones in there. Thanks for watching

Hello from Bull Shoals Lake area. Have you ever fished our lake and nearby White River?
I have not but definitely plan on it.
We got some tornado/storm damage last week so it may be awhile before the trees are cleaned up, but its a nice area. My husband and his family have been here many gens, and his uncle used to fish professionally for Ranger boats back in the day.

Pickerel are my sport fish i target since im too far south for pike and musky. Me and the boys call em our river pickles. Fun fish to catch. Nuissance if your bass fishing
They definitely put up a good fight. You would think it’s a pretty good bass until you see the long slender body.
I know it wasnt the numbers you wanted but still quality time out there with your son.

I like fishing Maumelle. Some people call it the Dead Sea but if you get to know it, it can produce some good fish. Especially crappie. I have caught some really decent slabs from that lake.
Very true sir, I hear a lot of people call it the Dead Sea . You definitely have to spend some time out there to figure them out. And yea I’ve seen some nice crappie In there . Nice blue gills as well as big catfish
