Just getting around to watching this - great trip report👍. Always inspired by your gratitude towards your adventures and time spent in nature. Became a FOT a few months ago after two amazing trips to Temagami with my family. Looking forward to our trip this summer. Going to be heading up to the May maintenance week this year - maybe see you there

Really enjoyed this late season Algonquin trip with woods lit up in fall colors. It look like your pack may have helped cushion that spill a little. Keep us posted on your unified field theory. Also want to apologize to you and your country for the jerk we returned to office.

I love Pukaskwa! Absolutely magical country, I did the Coastal Trail last time and can't wait to get back with a canoe so my knees can get their VENGEANCE for all that up and down on the trail lol

I saw this back when you first uploaded it and went searching for it again. For the second (or third) time, I'm still floored watching you drag through that chest deep mud. Especially solo... and while a thunderstorm is rolling in no less. Can just imagine your state of mind at that moment! Great video and epic trip. Cheers

What an epic trip - u was taking notes as end of May 2025 I’m going from gamble to Florence - south and north lady Evelyn down to Diamond to Wakimika and finish at emerald lake +- 155 km and +15 km portages. This trip was motivation to keep planning and staying in shape… I swear last time I did lady Evelyn portages I said never again… but that never lasts😂. The mud smog was insane!!!! Thanks for sharing this incredible adventure 💪🏽

I did my latest trip ever on that last heatwave...October heatwave. Really nice being in there late but those leaves everywhere comes at a cost...I went down too, into a hole filled with leaves and lucky I didn't do some damage solo. No one around then in Algonquin and no phone reception at that spot. Incredible being in there that late though!!

We were in Algonquin (off Kiosk lake) that same week! What awesome weather other than that one evening that rained and got windy. We got some great footage you can check out on my channel for ideas for your next trip if you haven't been to that area!!! Great video, and... until next year!!

That fall looked painful. I did the same on wet rock one time on the Larder River. I went one way and my canoe went the other. I was more worried about the canoe even though I was slightly hurt and bruised. But it wasn't serious and makes for good stories so that's all that matters. Like you said; happens to the best of us. And I agree, solo trips you definitely have a lot of time to think about stuff although one reason I enjoy solo trips is to forget about the worries of the world. Nature therapy is the best.

Oh no, not another film about a guy paddling Temagami in a canoe.... that i HAVE to watch and then go binge watch all his other films and subscribe and stuff! ... .because I'm addicted to these kind of journeys and adventures. Damn.... when am i supposed to get any work done?? Seriously though, great film, great adventure in this beautiful landscape. And RESPECT to you and all who do this, its amazing, often gruelling, always something new to learn. Oh...and the mud!... jeeeeez! Best wishes to you from me in 🇬🇧. 🛶

Can't wait to do this, hoping next year. That Rollway section was crazy, we thought for sure you were going to dump after taking in so much water but you made it all the way. The Natch looks stunning!

Loved the route choice. We wanted to check out some of these lakes including Florence which weve heard so much about so it was so nice getting a sneak peak. That mud was insane, we seriously thought it was going to swallow you entirely!

For that nightmare marshy bit, wouldn't it have been possible to tie a thinnish long rope to the canoe then crawled over the mud unhindered until you got to firm ground and could pull the canoe out?

Loved the adventure, thanks so much for sharing. We did this route a couple years ago but weren't up to running those rapids and skipped most of them. We really want to go back though and try more of them next time, loved watching you run them. Quick question, how did your gel coat canoe fare? We also have a gel coat canoe, Nova Craft Tuff Stuff. Just wondering if you had to do a ton of repairs after? Anything major?

I'm a novice. Don't know how you made that decision to get into that mud. I wouldn't have thought it possible. I would have gone to shore somehow and hiked somehow. Still think it was the only way? Also wonder why no long rope attached to bow to pull it.. not a good idea there?

It was great to see another view of Temagami through your lens and the beautiful solitude there. I love the droan shots. Thanks for all the hard work filming this and taking us along to see more of this amazing park. Really appreciate this backcountry especially while currently stuck in the urban landscape of southeast Michigan.

Ya know, when I looked at a map of Quebec and saw all these massive parks, I wondered why I never saw any of the Ontario guys or even Quebec guys do videos of them....again you are thinking. love your develop shots of the storm building on day 2..well thought out. love that evening on day 5 and the pike jumping :)

I called it! I almost went there last week! But it was gonna cost me $800+ with fishing right of access, license, campsite fees, gas from Nova Scotia, etc. Another time! Gotta make a longer road trip out of it to justify the cost.

I have a trip planned at La Vérendrye next year! It gives me a better idea of what to expect! Seems like a pretty nice place! Great video!

Absolutely love the big bag of spaghetti! What a wonderful trip. Temagami is on my very long bucket list. :) The water in some areas is brownish from tannin in the water. It is produced from run off that is draining into the water from decaying vegetation or peaty soil. :) I am in Nova Scotia and we have a lot of rivers and lakes that contain tannin. Gratefulness for wild places, it is nice to know there are others that feel that way. :) Nothing like an after trip poutine, yum! Thanks for sharing your adventure. :) :)

I enjoyed your video until you started talking about mining. Mining started in that area over 120 years ago during the building of the railway when Fred La Rose threw his hammer at a fox and missed exposing silver at the town of Cobalt. Northern Ontario has thrived on mining ever since.

Problem with burning socks is that they nearly always have plastics or elastics of some type - but how gross that they were left in such a beautiful place...
