I Had My Daughter’s Baby…At 52
Hugo and Spencer live with their loving parents, Michelle and Jono, and are surrounded by extended family, including their grandmother Jasmina and their Auntie Sophie.
But how Hugo and Spencer came to be in the world is a very unique and unusual story: their grandmother Jasmina and their aunt Sophie were actually - also - their surrogate mothers.
Why did Jasmina decide to be a surrogate for her daughter…at 52 years old? And how did her pregnancy go? How did she feel about the baby? How does it work now? What will they tell the boys when they're older? And - how did this decision come about to begin with?
This is a story about the great love that can emerge from great loss, and of great sacrifice and generosity, of motherhood and grandmotherhood - really, this is a love story like no other we’ve heard before.

Dr.Jeni, YOU ARE MY HERO!! A TRUE HERO FOR SO MANY..THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR STORY..YOU'RE SO BRAVE..THANK YOU❤❤❤⚡️⚡️⚡️
Why do foster parents automatically call children in their care as their own children? I've seen this happen with children in a month worth of care. Call me mum. It doesn't matter how long they're in foster care, they're still not theirs unless they're adopted formally. The department is meant to keep children in care safe. The foster home is a temporary home in most cases, and they do try to make it possible to get children back to their biological parents wherever possible. I can understand the biological mother's grief. William was entrusted to the state for care. The state is to blame for this as well. Absolutely disgusting for the children.
There are very deep issues with shame in this family. Shame combined with fear is powerful. If she was being abused at home - telling people the truth would put her safety at risk. People do crazy things to avoid shame. She hid her pregnancies from fear and shame - her parents were the last people she would go to out of fear. Her mother knew - but denial is also powerful. She allowed it to be a secret so she herself could avoid the shame of having a failure of a daughter (this is how abusive and controlling parents think).
Load of bollocks
She is absolutely not a hero. No one even knows who she is. She's not a superstar. She's been delisted by every club she's played for and struggled to get a kick from season 2 onwards.
It sounds like you're propping her up for lacking empathy.
What a wonderful interviewer
This interview deserves more likes. It's really good thank you
Nicholas Cowdrey made a crass sexist remark on Keli. However that does not mean his prosecution of Keli is based on sexism as the host and guest quickly concluded. After all, it was a voiceless and defenceless female who the DPP dispensing justice for, Tegan.
Jim Morrison
Watched the doco, Keli is just plain irresponsible & reckless. One pregnancy after the other. I don’t feel sorry for her, I feel sorry for the unborn & born children.
This lady is a tower of strength&truth& Honesty,&a magnificent storyteller❤
Oh yes a great sense of humor😅
I wonder if the father was a prominent member of society and she had other reasons then for just choosing another name out of the phone book. And if that were the case then the baby is in good hands and the father would never want her to know the truth about who her mom is. Or the dad turned around and sold the baby and then split the area to forever keep his secret.
So these men don’t engage in foreplay?
$240 for eHarmony ?.. he can pick up a chick at the gong Harp for a $5 buck middy..🍺
What a great interviewer
Too bad she didn't have a husband, boyfriend, or partner to offer another perspective and perhaps prevent her getting scammed?
Art is forbidden! Art is creativity, imagination, individuality & personal joy. Well education is forbidden too - literature, history, critical thinking. Then there is the homeschooling & isolation - prevents you from interconnecting with any possibility of encountering another point of view which would raise doubt and questions.
And education for girls stops at grade 6 or 7!
Why do people think that a "Ivy League Education" is some sort of cape that imbues super powers on its wearers? After all the "believability" of the scammers, they ask you to hand over cash? Why didn't they ask for something more believable? Like Best Buy gift cards? It's too bad, for all her education, that she got suckered. Then again, how many "Ivy Educated" people are morons who think the neo-communists in power are doing a great job and believe the lies of the Ministry of Truth? Ivy league schools used to turn out brilliant critical thinkers. Now those schools are indoctrination centers that turn out sheep.
First of all, as an Evangelical; I would like to point out that this woman was in a cult. Evangelicalism in no way goes this far. Secondly, I toe am getting tired of all the Patriarchy. Ephesians 5:21 tells both the husband and the wife to submit to each other equally. Verses 22-28 explains how, and both the husband and wife are required to do this. Why do they preach patriarchy when the Bible specifically states we are equals? I recommend reading the Jubilee Bible when you read this passage. it's the best translation. Just Google "Bible Gateway"
Great interview. Miriam is so lovely
Very disappointed that I didn't find the link to part two. Correction, I did find the link but there was nothing to click on when I went there. Even subscribed but that didn't work either. I sent you an email about this but from the auto-reply I got, I'll never hear back from you. Such a disappointment as I really wanted to hear the rest of her story.🤔
email support@mamamia.com.au so we can help you out 👍
God. Just stop already on the lesbian questions. Do some research and maybe you ask some varied questions. Id rather here what Mariam had for lunch than lesbian questions ad nauseum.
she's amazing... :)
He sounds like he was a narcissist.
More like a sociopath.
@32:42 I ❤ Michael Theo & wish there were a million more men just like him❣️ God bless you, Michael! 🩷✝️🤗
There are many cults including “ Christian “ but No body force her to marry him! She chose her bed and now blame others. Engagement after a few weeks? All about making money with the book. How weird now being pure and loving your husband and family are being looking down !
That still is not an excuse for him to abuse her.
Miriam, if you come to need a care taker at any time, I would gladly care for you!!
I adore Miriam! Thank you for this interview
His mother is adorable
Cautionary tale about lying and hiding things. It’s possible the police judged her for her behavior and lying. The case was so weak. But without being able to summon the father & child, you can understand why there was passion to convict. We will only know for sure when Tegan is found dead or alive.
This is why I don't do mega churches! They seem anti religious to me. Once you invest your churches money in becoming MEGA... you have lost sight of the purpose. I want no part of it. I live less than 2 blocks from the biggest mega church in our country and probably 80 percent of my neighbors are members. Let me be the first to say this neighborhood is weird... the ppl are not kind of friendly we are a year later treated as outsiders.
Next thing we’ll see female Christians wearing padding to cover their curves like muslim women do. It’s sad that all these religions: Christianity, Judaism and Islam are focused on controlling women’s sexuality.
That's not true. I am a lifelong evangelical and nobody tried to influence how we dressed. Fundamentalism does have stricter rules, but what this woman went through sounds like a cult. I can tell you that 95 % of the churches in the United Staes would never agree to this behavior and extreme rules. These are cults and extremists. This is why they like to move to small towns and rural areas. They don't anyone to know what's going on.
I was never in a cult but I did experience abuse in my first marriage. My second marriage was a bit better, but my husband had a hard time keeping a job. I was never taught that I could do better by myself. I was always encouraged to find a husband. Fast forward 30 years later, I have been on my own and working. Now retired but still pick up work part time to supplement my retirement.
I cannot get how women , who believes in God be pro abortion. Especially when you are already have children and know from your one experience that you pregnancy leads to child birth and human life
34:19 Ateood's book on abuse is mostly based on the abuse black women suffered in the US during slavery. Christian fundamentalism was also a source as well as the speaker shared. I just wanted to include that background so that people have a full context for her research.
I loved the underground railroad idea for collectively helping women and their children. It's almost like the second wave of Second Wave Feminism. Reminds me of the Jane Collective too: ua-cam.com/video/N7_p69p9kGw/v-deo.htmlsi=GI4YcwT3Z4Y3zJUO
There have always been underground ways for women to escape abuse and go into hiding. It's nothing new.
Totally, this sounds like “The Hand Maid’s Tale” or the last season of “Fargo”. The only big difference is that her story was not fiction but all REAL... happening in some weird random places within U.S. Outraging.
This is really interesting. I've never ever wanted kids, and have had my tubes tied, but this is really beautiful and touching. I'm so happy for them.
Ephesians 5 .22 .
Don't forget to read 5:21, and 5:25-28. Men have to submit too. I recommend the Jubilee Bible. It flat out says in verse 21 that both need to submit to each other equally.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Love Marian Keyes and this was a good interview.✅️
No wonder people walk away from church, and the Bible. This dominion crap is nothing but heresy.
Totally.
❤
A headquarters in Australia? Ugh.
Horrific, isn't it? Hillsong is enormous too. I heard that Australia has the third largest evangelical population in the world, after the US and Canada. Scary.
Love this guy! Can’t stand the interviewers. Every time he spoke about his faith and awe and wonder of God they moved immediately on.
I live in Oregon. We actually are the least churched state and have few evangelical churches and especially none that you subscribe. It is hard for me to imagine and seems like a real nightmare. It's bad enough that they have their own world but it is not okay they want to push their agenda on the rest of us.
Nobody in Christianity is pushing their agenda on anyone, except for cults and extremist political groups like Christian Nationalism. Ordinary Christianity does say you must preach the Gospel to people. But in a democracy, anyone can express their point of view to others. This woman was in a cult. Bill Gothard and the other hard-core fundamentalist theologians who built on his work are running cults. IBLP is a cult. Even some of the Dugger kids are coming out and saying this.
WOW! I just realize why my in laws treated me the way they did. My husband is Southern Baptist and I was Catholic. My in laws tried to teach me to submit, not to my husband so much but to them. We had to go to their house to do yard work, house work, pressuring us to go to their church 3 times a week. Including handing over our paychecks to them. Wanting to take over our finances and put us on a budget. I didn't need friends, new clothes, a trip to the beauty salon, or a car. Everything I needed was in the bible, including managing my diabetes. My mother in law would gleefully tell me that I would die soon, so why go to the doctor? It would be a waste. I had my daughter and Robbie ( mother in law ) was going to teach her to be a good Christian woman. Because she and her husband was counting on me to die soon. Yes, she told me that. That woke me up . Took me awhile but my husband and I cut that toxic family out of our lives, my husband is cordial but my children and I have not talked to them . When Robbie had cancer she wasted no time to see the doctor. I thought everthing that she needed was in the bible, including her cure for the cancer. Listening to you Tia, everything is falling into place and making sense now.
What a bunch of horrible emotional abusers.
And this is why the IBLP doesn't care about you. They don't care about you and they don't love you. They will throw you away like you're nothing to them. The IBLP see you as a pawn in their efforts to form a new world order. The IBLP is the New World Order, a pseudo-Christan New World Order.
They are a cult, plain and simple.
@@desa415 That too. They are a cult that wants to form a New World Order.
WHAT A WASTE OF JOURNALISM!🎯💯
There was NO Andrew Norris/Morris". Keli had a boyfriend and then slept with another random guy. If the baby was alive the father would come forward. The world is small and this is the age of the internet. Keli believes her own lie because the truth is too hard for her to face. Shes not upset about her daughter dying, she's just upset she got caught. So she just gives her baby away to random guy!!!??? No mother that loves her baby dies rhat. Sick woman.
