Momo Mod 07 Steering Wheel Install | Lancer Evo X | How Hard Could It Be?
It's my first time installing a new wheel, so I faced some difficulties.
Mainly from bad hub adapters though.
First, I got a cheap small adapter but my clockspring did not fit, so I removed it, opening it in the process, then I had to fix that.
Second, I bought the NRG Short Hub adapter which worked with the clockspring but the wheel was sitting sideways and the wheel itself was too far away from me.
The wheel on the side could have been fixed with a wheel alignment though.
Finally, I got the WorksBell adapter from Japan and this one fits just right.
Works Bell Steering Wheel Hub Adapter for Evo X (818), 820 is for evo 7,8,9
Overall, I spent way too much for a steering wheel, but it is that it is.
The wheel feels great and that's important (And the saved weight ofcourse).

Replacing Old Worn Out Intercooler Increases Power? | Evo X | Data Logging
Переглядів 2402 місяці тому
I had some 300EUR to spend, so I decided to do this test. I found the same Intercooler as the OEM, and my OEM is quite worn out (for a 13y old car) Short answer is, no difference. Longer answer is: Last year I cleaned my old cooler, removed the oil from the PCV and also fixed the bigger damages in the fins. Doing that thing reduced the temps quite a lot, check the video: ua-cam.com/video/c2I76A...
Does Rotational Mass & Unsprung Weight Make A Difference? | Evo X | RPF1 | Girodisc Two Piece Rotors
Переглядів 1,7 тис.2 місяці тому
I am doing an experiment to see if reduction of rotational and unsprung mass actually improves the performance of a car. For the job, I bought Enkei RPF1 18x8.5, Girodisc Two Piece front and rear rotors and EBC yellowstuff pads. Of course for the Evo X. I did runs before adding the parts and then I did a run after that. The results are quite clear, and also this is one the times where I saw a d...
Water Methanol Injection (AEM WMI) + Intercooler Spray | Evo X | Installation | Virtual Dyno
Переглядів 1,5 тис.2 місяці тому
Follow to see how I installed AEM's water injection system that I modified a bit to spray on the Intercooler as well as inside the throttle body. Also, I only plan to use water and no methanol. The reason is that I don't chase better power with this mod, but just to have a piece of mind especially for the warmer seasons. I faced few difficulties, mainly due to the difference in standards (We us...

Can Cleaning Intercooler Increase Power | Evo X

Cleaning the IC of my 12 year old (at the time, I am uploading this 1y later) Evo X. For these 12 years, quite a lot of oil was gathered, the intake pipe before the turbo was also quite oily. About the tests, After 1 year, the tems are around IAT 13-14 in where IAT is around 35C when tested, so still quite good and better than the IAT 17/18 I was getting before that. So yes, cleaning the IC is ...
Tuning Lancer Evo X - Live Session | EcuFlash | VirtualDyno | Tactrix | Wideband

My initial goal was to make 300wheel, and I did that. But as time went on, I was able to make even more with a better tune. The tuning process can be summarized in these steps: 1. Prep (all software, car maintenance, etc) 2. Set up base (Obtain control of the boost, set up AFR and retard timings, set up miscellaneous stuff like torque limit, boost limit, etc...) 3. Start slowly incrementing tim...
Fix (Reassemble) Unwound Clock Spring | 2007+ Mitsubishi | Lancer Evo X
Переглядів 5764 місяці тому
I thought I don't need a clock spring when installing aftermarket momo wheel, but the traction control was always on even on light cornering, so I had to put back the clockspring. Unfortunately, I opened it because I though I don't need it anymore, then I read in forums that it's impossible to re-assemble it. Here I am, trying to re-assemble it, hope I help someone. Also, I believe most mitsubi...
Is 3 Port Boost Controller Worth it? | Evo X | Virtual Dyno | EcuFlash
Переглядів 4965 місяців тому
Short before / after from stock passive / active solenoids replaced by a MAC 3 Port boost controller. Spoiler alert: It is quite a lot better. Better response and more pressure is retained. Reason for the bigger pressure is the way OEM boost controller hoses are set up. Basically turbo outlet is connected to the wastegate and even if the solenoid is at 100% duty cycle, there will always be some...

My Experience with the Ohlins Road & Track suspension for my Evo X. I had them for 6 months, incredible performance. The body roll is further reduced following the sway bars that I installed earlier. Whiteline Front & Rear Sway Bar Kit on Evo X - Fix The Body Roll
Переглядів 624Рік тому
Whe sway bar kit fixed the weight transfer issue for me. Before that I was being pushed left and right on corners. On the Mid/Mid setting it also eliminated quite a few of the cases where I was experiencing understeer and strangely oversteer as well. Overall, very nice upgrade, as I said in the video, probably the best one you can make on lancers for that money. Suspension is next, so stay tuned.
Evo X Custom 3" Exhaust | Before And After | Does it Gain Power?

Pros: ~10kg of weight saved Nice sound Nice looks I did it myself so I learned a lot saved some good money Cons: Did not gain much power at least on my setup Sounds nice but it is loud and not everyone likes loud cars all that much (myself included) How did I break my stock exhaust? High Flow Cat Upgrade on Evo X | Custom Made | Wideband | Before & After | Virtual Dyno
Переглядів 568Рік тому
Does replacing the OEM Mitsubishi Lancer Evoluton X cat with a high flow one improve performance? - Yes. Does it affect AFR? - Most probably I did experience the "rotten eggs" (sulfur) smell which was fixed by adjusting the AFR at high RPM. 11.3 - 11.7 was my target. Something worth mentioning, the 76mm (3 inch) flange does not fully align with the stock catback 63mm (2.5 inch) one, so the gask...

My dude thank you so much I am in a dilemma where I believe mine is broken, when I get the new one I’m gonna try and disassemble mine. Thank you again Señor!
LOL i did the exact same thing 10 years ago with snow performance kit, having the nozzle out the window to test it haha
Great minds think alike 😂
@@TsvetelinYakimov hahaha, yea because well sadly 10 years ago plus controller nvr had a test function, it was a custom kit i think. So i had to get into boost to ensure it was working lol.
Thanks for the video,i hate the stock wheel and most likey do the same
Do you have the part of the video that fixed the idle?
The issue in this case is that only one PCV hose was disconnected when either both should be disconnected or none should be
I did evo 9 front calipers for my evo x, and did 17x9.5 rpf1s 275/40/17 tires And i feel a big difference especially when the car is rolling, i make 610 whp
When looking at the wheel gap, many cars have the appearance of sitting "higher" in the front than the rear while the chassis itself is perfectly level. It's that the front wheel arch is cut higher than the rear. It's likely to allow for more clearance for the front wheels to turn.
Can you make a video of how you tuned the 3port and cat delete
Hi, I have a video for tuning already, you can find it in my channel. It's more general, but I think it should help as a starting point.
I have the same setup ohlins with whiteline on my Evo X MR. Had it for 5 yrs and it is still running well. I still daily the car with all the mods. I did have to replace the whiteline bushings and some parts after 4 yrs of use because it was worn out. Enjoy it. It becomes so stable with the ohlins and whiteline
Excuse me, what is the wattage of the resistor? Thank you very much.
It should be 0.5w, not 100% sure. Any regular 1.8 resistor from your local store shouold do honestly. And if it doesn't work, just try with another one.
Thank you very much👍
It’s 2024 and it’s nice to see ppl still working on their evo. I recently put in a 58mm AGT (thanks KTM)and going for e85 tune by the end of this yr.
I'll be happy to see some dyno of that turbo tho 😅 I am looking for options besides mhi 18k for veery fast spools
Cool car man, definitely keep it alive for as long as possible!
Im getting my childhood dream car bro which is a Evo. thank you so much for making content about it in 2024 ❤
I am jealous! Enjoy
bro!
As long as we keep driving them, companies will keep making parts and the platform will not die!
I can't say about discs but wheels absolutely I have a 190hp car and I could absolutely tell the difference in pulling away from a stoplight when I switched and my fuel consumption went up by around 500-700ml from a wheel weight increase of 2kg per.
Yeah, the further away, the bigger the difference. I'd imagine if someone was on a crappy tires, and went to a good and light tire, what a feeling it would be.
How are the Cup 2 in daily life?
Can't comapre to anything else since I haven't had other tires. But once they warm up you can't move off the road. In rainy days, watch out! :D
Try the DS2500 ;)
I will consider it although the EBCs so far are flawless
every 1lb of rotional weight equals around .75-1 whp
Based on the results I got, seems to be accurate
Check again if the the disks are not swapped left-right, the cooling vains looked the other way around.
Checked 3 times during install We were all confused but it is correct
The Works/Bell hubs have the correct provision to keep the clock spring in place.
Same thing for the NRG adapter. It's just that you need to re-align your wheels afterwards
Run a catch can
this was during a test to see if there is a need to get a catch can, that's why it was just a filter. I bought one afterwards.
@@cyecize-cars I use a MAP dual catch can
Really helpful🫡
Original work and good work
I repaired my seat belt seme Mitsubishi lancer 2014 full option
Or you could run hoses from both valves into a vented catch can. I did that with my Evo X and know lots of others that do this as well. You can also just cap off the intake manifold like you did. MAPerformance has a great catch can you buy and use for that and also has a built in coolant resevoir in a separate chamber. If not, then you can always get those cheaper universal catch cans and just run the hoses to each side together, or separate catch cans for each. Many ways to do this. I wouldn't put just a filter. You'll have so much bypass just seeping out everywhere and the cleanup would be a pain everytime. Oh and also, if your idle almost feels like a vacuum leak, but can't find a leak, check your throttle body. After nearly 300k mi, this has happened to me twice so far. I took mine out and just cleaned everything out and the idle ran really smooth again. It doesn't take much for a little bit of carbon to have that throttle plate ever so slightly open to screw with your idle and also potentially having your car just stall out. Ask me how I know. lol.
wow very impressive man. good job 👍👍
thank you big help
Bro in a Crash this shit will Break…
better be careful in them corners then 😃 I actually made a different bracket so that I can sit even lower and I made that with a thicker steel.
@@cyecize-carsbut why not buy a bracket? The Car has the same Body Group of an evo and for the evo you can buy every Adapter
@@イノ乚乚 same reason I don't buy exhaust but make one or don't call a tuner but tune it myself. It's nice knowing you did it yourself
quick question,is it possible to put supercharge on a 4b11t?im more interested in the low end speed build up
I am pretty sure it's possibe, but modern turbos spool instantly and if you get a smaller one, you will spool at 2000 RPM basically. For supercharger, I guess you just have to engineer your own adapters.
It’s very possible, it will benefit you when you have a big turbo not a stock frame ..
Great video I’m putting together my Evo x just an heads up you don’t have to do the resistors for the airbag you just unplugged the battery problem solve. When you mess around with wiring disconnecting them airbags always disconnect the battery great video tho
Nobody panic. It’s called being a willing prisoner. Everything will be put right back in its proper place.
Do you have any video recommendations of tuning the evo? I'm interested in learning to tune mine soon after I gather all my parts.
There are 1-2 in UA-cam but they are either teasers for a full course of they are for the Evo IX. I already shot a video 8 months ago but I haven't edited it yet. Expect it in a week or so. Now that I know someone is interested, I am more willing to put few minutes into editing 😁😁
Huge props for going this far to address the rattle. The seatbelt rattle is driving me crazy.
Great review, they seem like a great quality shock for the price. The long term seems it held up well. Probably will go with them for my Evo x. Again great job more videos brother.
Hey bro where can find these airbag wires
I used the connector that was going to the airbag, I just cut and re-wired it. Not sure where to get them though, there may be something in aliexpress.
Is there anything to worry about regarding airbags being unable to deploy on the dash and the A pillars?
Well, the cloth should be able to rip apart because the airbag breaks the plastic and the cloth is not as strong as that. That being said, I can't guarantee and for my cars, I have removed the airbags in the dashboard anyways. Weight saving fanatic here 😬
its the worst explanation of something that ive ever heard in my life 😂 but anyways good stuff !! 👍👍
I don't do video preparations and my research consists of few google searches 😀 But so far (knock on wood) all works well. I will try to do better on the video about tuning though. Thanks anyways!
Get 20 mm spacers
I'm not a fan of spacers, so I'm just waiting a bit to save for RPF1s with better offset. Hopefully next month 🙄🙄
Keep us posted man. Nice car@@cyecize-cars
Do it really work?
yes, of course. The car needs a complete circuit. By adding a resistor, you do exactly that.
@@cyecize-cars what resistor will I need?
1.8 ohm @@EmilianoGarcia-z2f
Bro How many watts of that 1.8ohm resistor?
Thanks for the video. I’m gonna try this out to check if I have crack on mine. Were you having issues or codes prior to replacing?
No codes, I think the crack wasn't at the point where it was leaking all that bad.
Does it increase oversteer or understeer?
Well explain thanks
I appreciate it a ton bro. It has been incredibly difficult to find a solution. Amazingly, i have the exact same phone with a very similar new head unit. So the struggle to charge my phone on long trips is real lol. Ive ordered the exact same parts off aliexpress. Ill be making a similar video then. Thanks again!
Thank you bro🙌🏽🙌🏽🕺🏼
Hi, nice video) When you install aem intake, has the sound of the engine changed? I want to buy same intake on my lancer ralliart
When enclosed, the sound is like OEM, maybe a bit louder. If the top is off it is very sweet sound but it gets hot
Do you need to disconnect the battery before removing the pillars?
I don't think I disconnected the battery, but it wont hurt to disconnect it just in case.
*_Damn nice video bro! I like that you did all the testing yourself too. Epic build_*
Just subbed, awesome tutorial !
Looks really good!!
what specific charger from aliexpress did you buy?
Well, the one I bought has expired, but any "PD (Power Delivery)" cabable charger will do. You would need to scroll a bit to find one with just wires though instead of all the rest that come packed with the 12v socket.
www.amazon.com/Outlet-Charger-Waterproof-Adapter-Motorcycle/dp/B09D34DTTZ
I'm Ukrainian, live in America, been subscribed and watching every video you have the dashboard wrap video I watch often actually, keep up the videos, they are good, I would actually like to see you make a video more in depth on your wiring for the screen you have, custom buttons to wire in for the blank ones, things like that, since I gave 2014 gsr, same color as yours actually, which is cool to see
I am happy to know that someone is watching other than few friends I asked to give few likes 😅 When I installed this nav I didn't have the idea yet to record, so when I get one for the lancer I will record it which I really hope it would be soon because I really need one on that car too.
Did you have to double nut the stud for the manifold ? The 2 on the side ?
